Indijske i kineske trupe su se sukobile na svojoj spornoj himalajskoj granici, pri čemu je najmanje 20 indijskih vojnika ranjeno, od kojih šest teško. Bliska borba prsa o prsa u udaljenom pograničnom području prvi je veći incident između dvije nuklearne azijske sile u zadnje dvije godine.

U priopćenju indijskog Ministarstva obrane navodi se da su vojnici obiju strana zadobili ozljede u obračunu koji se dogodio u sektoru Tawang u indijskom sjeveroistočnom teritoriju Arunachal Pradesh. Zastupnik ove sjeveroistočne indijske pokrajine rekao je za britanski Telegraph da je skupinu indijskih vojnika napalo gotovo 600 Kineza.

Incident je prvo ozbiljno žarište između Indije i Kine otkako je najmanje 20 indijskih vojnika ubijeno u sličnim sukobima palicama prije dvije godine, pošto se u ovoj zoni izbjegava nošenje vatrenog oružja radi deeskalacije napetosti. Kineske trupe tad su navodno nasmrt pretukle indijske vojnike kamenjem i palicama domaće izrade, zauzevši najmanje 50 četvornih kilometara strateški važnog graničnog područja. I aktualni incident se iznova dogodio u području poznatom kao Linija stvarne kontrole. Sporna granica na Himalaji dugačka 3379 kilometara već je godinama izvor trvenja između New Delhija i Pekinga, a napetosti su u novije vrijeme sve intenzivnije nakon lipnja 2020.

"Kina uporno želi doći u Arunachal Pradesh i ovaj posljednji incident izravno je povezan s Tibetom i kineskim planiranim suverenitetom nad širom regijom Tibeta", smatra Sushant Singh iz think tanka sa sjedištem u indijskom Delhiju. Ovakvi incidenti će se, po njemu, i dalje događati zbog razlika u vojnoj, ekonomskoj i tehnološkoj moći dviju zemalja.

U studenome 2021. Kina je optužena za izgradnju dva sela na indijskom teritoriju u Arunachal Pradeshu. Indija je globalna sila u nastajanju, ali još uvijek je svjesna da se ekonomski i vojno još ne može natjecati s Kinom. Indijsko neutralno stajalište oko ruske invazije na Ukrajinu odraz je takve svijesti: Delhi je odbio glasati protiv Moskve u rezolucijama Ujedinjenih naroda i postao je glavni uvoznik ruske nafte. Indija se nada iskoristiti Rusiju i kao mirotvorca u svakom potencijalnom budućem sukobu s Kinom. Peking se, s druge strane, priklonio indijskom dugoročnom suparniku Pakistanu, s kojim je Indija vodila tri rata od neovisnosti.

Indija i Kina bile su žestoko zaratile oko svojih planinskih pograničnih područja 1962. godine, a taj je rat završio ponižavajućim porazom Indije. Nakon tih ratova uspostavljena je tzv. Linija stvarne kontrole kao zamjena za službenu granicu, no dvije se zemlje i dalje uporno ne slažu oko točne lokacije ove linije i međusobno se optužuju da je krše.

U rujnu ove godine je indijska vlada najprije priopćila da su se indijske i kineske trupe počele povlačiti iz graničnog područja Gogra-Hotsprings u zapadnoj Himalaji, dvije godine nakon što su sukobi na granici rezultirali smrću i zategli diplomatske odnose. Ta je izjava došla uoči regionalnog summita u Uzbekistanu na kojem su sudjelovali indijski premijer Narendra Modi i kineski čelnik Xi Jinping. No, ubrzo je kinesko ministarstvo vanjskih poslova kritiziralo zajedničke vježbe američkih i indijskih trupa u Uttarakhandu na sjeveru Indije. Kina je posljednjih godina postala vrlo oprezna prema vezama Indije sa Sjedinjenim Državama: njihovo prijateljstvo, naročito u blizini kineskog teritorija, izaziva im posebnu nervozu.

Indijske i kineske trupe su se sukobile na svojoj spornoj himalajskoj granici, pri čemu je najmanje 20 indijskih vojnika ranjeno, od kojih šest teško. Bliska borba prsa o prsa u udaljenom pograničnom području prvi je veći incident između dvije nuklearne azijske sile u zadnje dvije godine.

U priopćenju indijskog Ministarstva obrane navodi se da su vojnici obiju strana zadobili ozljede u obračunu koji se dogodio u sektoru Tawang u indijskom sjeveroistočnom teritoriju Arunachal Pradesh. Zastupnik ove sjeveroistočne indijske pokrajine rekao je za britanski Telegraph da je skupinu indijskih vojnika napalo gotovo 600 Kineza.

Incident je prvo ozbiljno žarište između Indije i Kine otkako je najmanje 20 indijskih vojnika ubijeno u sličnim sukobima palicama prije dvije godine, pošto se u ovoj zoni izbjegava nošenje vatrenog oružja radi deeskalacije napetosti. Kineske trupe tad su navodno nasmrt pretukle indijske vojnike kamenjem i palicama domaće izrade, zauzevši najmanje 50 četvornih kilometara strateški važnog graničnog područja. I aktualni incident se iznova dogodio u području poznatom kao Linija stvarne kontrole. Sporna granica na Himalaji dugačka 3379 kilometara već je godinama izvor trvenja između New Delhija i Pekinga, a napetosti su u novije vrijeme sve intenzivnije nakon lipnja 2020.

"Kina uporno želi doći u Arunachal Pradesh i ovaj posljednji incident izravno je povezan s Tibetom i kineskim planiranim suverenitetom nad širom regijom Tibeta", smatra Sushant Singh iz think tanka sa sjedištem u indijskom Delhiju. Ovakvi incidenti će se, po njemu, i dalje događati zbog razlika u vojnoj, ekonomskoj i tehnološkoj moći dviju zemalja.

U studenome 2021. Kina je optužena za izgradnju dva sela na indijskom teritoriju u Arunachal Pradeshu. Indija je globalna sila u nastajanju, ali još uvijek je svjesna da se ekonomski i vojno još ne može natjecati s Kinom. Indijsko neutralno stajalište oko ruske invazije na Ukrajinu odraz je takve svijesti: Delhi je odbio glasati protiv Moskve u rezolucijama Ujedinjenih naroda i postao je glavni uvoznik ruske nafte. Indija se nada iskoristiti Rusiju i kao mirotvorca u svakom potencijalnom budućem sukobu s Kinom. Peking se, s druge strane, priklonio indijskom dugoročnom suparniku Pakistanu, s kojim je Indija vodila tri rata od neovisnosti.

Indija i Kina bile su žestoko zaratile oko svojih planinskih pograničnih područja 1962. godine, a taj je rat završio ponižavajućim porazom Indije. Nakon tih ratova uspostavljena je tzv. Linija stvarne kontrole kao zamjena za službenu granicu, no dvije se zemlje i dalje uporno ne slažu oko točne lokacije ove linije i međusobno se optužuju da je krše.

U rujnu ove godine je indijska vlada najprije priopćila da su se indijske i kineske trupe počele povlačiti iz graničnog područja Gogra-Hotsprings u zapadnoj Himalaji, dvije godine nakon što su sukobi na granici rezultirali smrću i zategli diplomatske odnose. Ta je izjava došla uoči regionalnog summita u Uzbekistanu na kojem su sudjelovali indijski premijer Narendra Modi i kineski čelnik Xi Jinping. No, ubrzo je kinesko ministarstvo vanjskih poslova kritiziralo zajedničke vježbe američkih i indijskih trupa u Uttarakhandu na sjeveru Indije. Kina je posljednjih godina postala vrlo oprezna prema vezama Indije sa Sjedinjenim Državama: njihovo prijateljstvo, naročito u blizini kineskog teritorija, izaziva im posebnu nervozu.
