Kronične migrene, pa i oni najteži oblici ne oštećuju mozak, dobra je vijest za sve koji pate od ove bolesti.
“To je gotovo uvijek prvo pitanje koje postavljaju bolesnici s migrenom”, kazao je Christophe Tzourio, liječnik i znanstvenik na Sveučilištu Pierre et Marie Curie u Parizu, koji je vodio istraživanje čiji su rezultati objavljeni na internetskoj stranici British Medical Journala.
“Danas možemo dati konačan odgovor – ne morate se brinuti,” kazao je Tzourio za AFP.
Migrene su jake iscrpljujuće glavobolje od kojih pati svaka deveta odrasla osoba. Što ih uzrokuje još uvijek je nepoznato, ali se zna da je povezano s krvnim žilama u mozgu. Ranija istraživanja magnetskom rezonancijom pokazala su da kod ljudi s čestim jakim migrenama dolazi do oštećenja malih krvnih žila u mozgu.
Tzourio i njegov tim istraživali su da li kod bolesnika s migrenom postoji veći rizik da dobiju moždani udar ili obole od depresije, Alzheimerove bolesti, poremećaja pamćenja...
Nakon testiranja kognitivnih sposobnosti više od 800 ljudi, starijih od 65 godina, zaključili su da je skoro 15 posto njih tijekom života patilo od migrena. U prosjeku se njihovi rezultati nisu razlikovali od ostalih. I oni stariji koji su patili od najtežih oblika nisu pokazivali odstupanja.

Kronične migrene, pa i oni najteži oblici ne oštećuju mozak, dobra je vijest za sve koji pate od ove bolesti.
“To je gotovo uvijek prvo pitanje koje postavljaju bolesnici s migrenom”, kazao je Christophe Tzourio, liječnik i znanstvenik na Sveučilištu Pierre et Marie Curie u Parizu, koji je vodio istraživanje čiji su rezultati objavljeni na internetskoj stranici British Medical Journala.
“Danas možemo dati konačan odgovor – ne morate se brinuti,” kazao je Tzourio za AFP.
Migrene su jake iscrpljujuće glavobolje od kojih pati svaka deveta odrasla osoba. Što ih uzrokuje još uvijek je nepoznato, ali se zna da je povezano s krvnim žilama u mozgu. Ranija istraživanja magnetskom rezonancijom pokazala su da kod ljudi s čestim jakim migrenama dolazi do oštećenja malih krvnih žila u mozgu.
Tzourio i njegov tim istraživali su da li kod bolesnika s migrenom postoji veći rizik da dobiju moždani udar ili obole od depresije, Alzheimerove bolesti, poremećaja pamćenja...
Nakon testiranja kognitivnih sposobnosti više od 800 ljudi, starijih od 65 godina, zaključili su da je skoro 15 posto njih tijekom života patilo od migrena. U prosjeku se njihovi rezultati nisu razlikovali od ostalih. I oni stariji koji su patili od najtežih oblika nisu pokazivali odstupanja.
