Novo istraživanje objavljeno u časopisu Cell iznosi dokaze da se Europom i SAD-om trenutno širi novi soj koronavirusa, javlja CNN. 

Globalna studija iznosi podatke o novoj mutaciji virusa koja čini mogućnost zaraze vjerojatnijom, no manja je šansa da će ljudi koji se zaraze razviti teške simptome kao što je to bio slučaj na samome početku pandemije.

"Ovaj soj trenutno je dominantan kad je zaraza u pitanju", potvrdila je Erica Ollmann Saphire s La Jolla instituta za imunologiju. Znanstvenica koja je bila jedna od vodećih u istraživanju potvrdila je za CNN kako je upravo "ovaj soj virus o kojemu se piše".

Istraživanje o mutiranoj verziji virusa bilo je objavljeno ranije ove godine, a ujedinjuje sva dosadašnja saznanja koja imamo o zarazi. Tim je pridodao posljednja istraživanja na nekoliko genetskih sekvenci virusa, a provedena su na ljudima, životinjama i stanicama u laboratoriju. Rezultati su pokazali kako je mutirani virus zarazniji od prethodnih, no mogao bi izazivati nešto slabije simptome.

Mutacija o kojoj se ovdje govori napada šiljak proteina - strukturu koju virus koristi kako bi ušao u stanice koje će zaraziti. Trenutno su sva nastojanja znanstvenika usmjerena na to da otkriju utječe li ova njegova sposobnost na potencijalno cjepivo. Odnosno, drugim riječima, može li se uopće ovaj virus kontrolirati cjepivom. Ona koja se testiraju danas ciljaju upravo na šiljak proteina, ali koriste starije sojeve virusa o kojemu je riječ.

Novu mutaciju oni koji su radili na studiji nazvali su G614, a njihova saznanja pokazuju i kako je ona gotovo u potpunosti zamijenila verziju koja se prvotno širila Europom i SAD-om, onu koja se nazivala D614.

Nema efekta na smrtnost

"Naši globalni podaci sugeriraju da se ovaj soj širi brže. Mislimo da je zarazniji od onoga koji mu je prethodio. No nismo pronašli jake dokaze da utječe na težinu bolesti ili na smrtnost pacijenta", piše u istraživanju biologinja Bette Korber iz Nacionalnog laboratorija Los Alamos.

Lawrence Young, ugledni britanski onkolog, komentirao je studiju u koju nije bio uključen:

"Ovo bi mogle biti dobre vijesti. Trenutni radovi sugeriraju kako je varijanta G614 zaraznija, ali nije zbog toga više patogena. Postoji stoga nada da će, kako se SARS-Cov-2 infekcija bude širila, virus postati još manje patogen", zaključio je optimistično.

Tri do devet puta zarazniji

Nova inačica koronavirusa ima sposobnost bržeg razmnožavanja u gornjim dišnim putevima, odnosno u nosu, sinusima i grlu, što bi objasnilo njenu ekstremnu zaraznost. No oni koji su oboljeli od ove nove mutacije nisu se pokazali ništa teže bolesnima. Zaključci su provedeni uz pomoć podataka analize oko tisuću pacijenata oboljelih od bolesti Covid-19 u Velikoj Britaniji.

Imunolog David Montefiore sa Sveučilišta Duke testirao je s kolegama dvije varijante virusa u laboratorijskim uvjetima.

"Cilj je bio saznati je li G oblik virusa zarazniji od oblika D. Svi rezultati pokazuju da je inačica G tri do devet puta zaraznija od D", potvrdio je Montefiore.

Stručnjaci okupljeni na studiji poručuju kako su njihove analize važne iz nekoliko razloga - zaraznost novog soja virusa samo podupire važnost nošenja zaštitnih maski i društvenog distanciranja. Još uvijek se ne zna kako će ove promjene utjecati na sami tijek pandemije, stoga su potrebna dodatna istraživanja.

No ono što je iz studije jasno je da se nosimo s novom mutacijom koronavirusa. Važno je to i za daljni tijek traženja cjepiva, tvrde znanstvenici, koji naglašavaju kako trenutno "drže na oku" upravo - nove mutacije.

Novo istraživanje objavljeno u časopisu Cell iznosi dokaze da se Europom i SAD-om trenutno širi novi soj koronavirusa, javlja CNN. 

Globalna studija iznosi podatke o novoj mutaciji virusa koja čini mogućnost zaraze vjerojatnijom, no manja je šansa da će ljudi koji se zaraze razviti teške simptome kao što je to bio slučaj na samome početku pandemije.

"Ovaj soj trenutno je dominantan kad je zaraza u pitanju", potvrdila je Erica Ollmann Saphire s La Jolla instituta za imunologiju. Znanstvenica koja je bila jedna od vodećih u istraživanju potvrdila je za CNN kako je upravo "ovaj soj virus o kojemu se piše".

Istraživanje o mutiranoj verziji virusa bilo je objavljeno ranije ove godine, a ujedinjuje sva dosadašnja saznanja koja imamo o zarazi. Tim je pridodao posljednja istraživanja na nekoliko genetskih sekvenci virusa, a provedena su na ljudima, životinjama i stanicama u laboratoriju. Rezultati su pokazali kako je mutirani virus zarazniji od prethodnih, no mogao bi izazivati nešto slabije simptome.

Mutacija o kojoj se ovdje govori napada šiljak proteina - strukturu koju virus koristi kako bi ušao u stanice koje će zaraziti. Trenutno su sva nastojanja znanstvenika usmjerena na to da otkriju utječe li ova njegova sposobnost na potencijalno cjepivo. Odnosno, drugim riječima, može li se uopće ovaj virus kontrolirati cjepivom. Ona koja se testiraju danas ciljaju upravo na šiljak proteina, ali koriste starije sojeve virusa o kojemu je riječ.

Novu mutaciju oni koji su radili na studiji nazvali su G614, a njihova saznanja pokazuju i kako je ona gotovo u potpunosti zamijenila verziju koja se prvotno širila Europom i SAD-om, onu koja se nazivala D614.

Nema efekta na smrtnost

"Naši globalni podaci sugeriraju da se ovaj soj širi brže. Mislimo da je zarazniji od onoga koji mu je prethodio. No nismo pronašli jake dokaze da utječe na težinu bolesti ili na smrtnost pacijenta", piše u istraživanju biologinja Bette Korber iz Nacionalnog laboratorija Los Alamos.

Lawrence Young, ugledni britanski onkolog, komentirao je studiju u koju nije bio uključen:

"Ovo bi mogle biti dobre vijesti. Trenutni radovi sugeriraju kako je varijanta G614 zaraznija, ali nije zbog toga više patogena. Postoji stoga nada da će, kako se SARS-Cov-2 infekcija bude širila, virus postati još manje patogen", zaključio je optimistično.

Tri do devet puta zarazniji

Nova inačica koronavirusa ima sposobnost bržeg razmnožavanja u gornjim dišnim putevima, odnosno u nosu, sinusima i grlu, što bi objasnilo njenu ekstremnu zaraznost. No oni koji su oboljeli od ove nove mutacije nisu se pokazali ništa teže bolesnima. Zaključci su provedeni uz pomoć podataka analize oko tisuću pacijenata oboljelih od bolesti Covid-19 u Velikoj Britaniji.

Imunolog David Montefiore sa Sveučilišta Duke testirao je s kolegama dvije varijante virusa u laboratorijskim uvjetima.

"Cilj je bio saznati je li G oblik virusa zarazniji od oblika D. Svi rezultati pokazuju da je inačica G tri do devet puta zaraznija od D", potvrdio je Montefiore.

Stručnjaci okupljeni na studiji poručuju kako su njihove analize važne iz nekoliko razloga - zaraznost novog soja virusa samo podupire važnost nošenja zaštitnih maski i društvenog distanciranja. Još uvijek se ne zna kako će ove promjene utjecati na sami tijek pandemije, stoga su potrebna dodatna istraživanja.

No ono što je iz studije jasno je da se nosimo s novom mutacijom koronavirusa. Važno je to i za daljni tijek traženja cjepiva, tvrde znanstvenici, koji naglašavaju kako trenutno "drže na oku" upravo - nove mutacije.

Nova studija potvrđuje kako se Europom i SAD-om širi nova mutacija koronavirusa: zarazniji je tri do devet puta, ali ne i ‘opasniji‘

Novo istraživanje objavljeno u časopisu Cell iznosi dokaze da se Europom i SAD-om trenutno širi novi soj koronavirusa, javlja CNN. 

Globalna studija iznosi podatke o novoj mutaciji virusa koja čini mogućnost zaraze vjerojatnijom, no manja je šansa da će ljudi koji se zaraze razviti teške simptome kao što je to bio slučaj na samome početku pandemije.

"Ovaj soj trenutno je dominantan kad je zaraza u pitanju", potvrdila je Erica Ollmann Saphire s La Jolla instituta za imunologiju. Znanstvenica koja je bila jedna od vodećih u istraživanju potvrdila je za CNN kako je upravo "ovaj soj virus o kojemu se piše".

Istraživanje o mutiranoj verziji virusa bilo je objavljeno ranije ove godine, a ujedinjuje sva dosadašnja saznanja koja imamo o zarazi. Tim je pridodao posljednja istraživanj...
