"Problem s remakeovima jest da ako stvarno volite te filmove, onda ne želite napraviti remake", izjavio je austrijski redateljski duo Severin Fiala-Veronika Franz u ekskluzivnom intervjuu za “Slobodnu” krajem 2015., kad je njihov dijabolični i šokantni horor “Laku noć, mamice” dobio nominaciju za Europskog Oscara u kategoriji “otkriće godine”.

Fiala i Franz istaknuli su pritom neke dobre remakeove, čak i bolje od originala, poput “Stvora” i “Muhe”, ali i neke “uvredljivo loše” kao što je nova “Strava u Ulici brijestova”. Tom prilikom Fiala i Franz bili su upitani i koga bi voljeli vidjeti u glavnoj ulozi ako dođe do hollywoodskog remakea njihovog filma. Odgovor je bio – nikoga.

Sedam godina kasnije, Hollywood je napravio remake i američka verzija “Laku noć, mamice” (“Goodnight Mommy”) netom je doživjela streaming premijeru na Amazonu.

Nažalost, remake scenarista Kylea Warrena i redatelja Matta Sobela ispao je bliži nižim dometima “A Nightmare On Elm Street” i nije dostojan (kamoli superiorniji od) originala kao “The Thing” i “The Fly”. Ovo je jedan od onih nepotrebnih remakeova, snimljen ponajprije za američku publiku koja nema običaj gledati “strane” filmove nenaviknuta na čitanje titlova, a i da Amazon dobije jedan horor u recentnoj streaming ponudi (dokudrama “Trinaest života”, akcija “Samaritan”...).

Tko je gledao uznemirujuće intrigantni, tenzični i dvosmisleni originalni film, vjerojatno će se složiti kako je posrijedi ponajbolji europski horor 2010-ih i sjetiti da su neki gledatelji padali u nesvijest od šokova. Gledajući amerikaniziranu inačicu “Laku noć, mamice”, teško da itko može pasti u nesvijest, sve i da nije upoznat s originalom kojeg prilično doslovno kopira u osnovnoj priči.

Otac (Peter Hermann) ostavlja sinove blizance Eliasa i Lucasa (Cameron Crovetti, Nicholas Crovetti) u izoliranoj kući kod majke (Naomi Watts). Sinovi već neko vrijeme nisu vidjeli mamu koja na glavi ima zavoje od friške operacije. “Mama je trebala promjenu, svjež početak”, kaže ona i traži da sinovi drže prigušeno svjetlo u kući jer “sunce nije dobro za njezinu kožu”.

Je li mama glumica koja se odlučila na plastičnu kirurgiju, manje je bitno od toga je li ta žena stvarno njihova majka. Jer, ponaša se čudno, ima kratak fitilj, puši, odbija sinovima pjevati pjesmu za laku noć kao nekoć i zabranjuje im da ulaze u njezinu sobu i posjećuju staju.

”Zar ne misliš da je nešto drukčije?”, pita jedan brat drugoga kad počnu dvojiti tko se zapravo krije ispod zavoja i gdje je njihova mama ako to nije ona. Strah od toga da bi netko koga znate i volite mogao zapravo biti netko drugi bio je košmarno hororičan u izvorniku koji je propitivao majčinstvo i majčinsku ljubav, sjekavši škarama prirodnu vezu između majke i djece.

”Ona je naša mama, mora nas voljeti, to joj je posao”, kaže u to ime jedan sin u remakeu, ali novi film je blijeda kopija, lišena neuvijeno sadističkog hororskog intenziteta (scena kad klinci pokušaju preuzeti stvari u svoje ruke) i psihološki zagonetne dvosmislenosti kompleksnog originala.

Nešto tako je potencirano samo tijekom snomorice a la “Under The Skin” u kojoj majka skida kožu kao da je ronilačko odijelo. Jedino što je bolje u remakeu jest uloga odlične Watts koja i ispod maske drži glumački “masterclass”, ali nedovoljno da spasi film. Strava u remakeu je ostala u zavojima.

"Problem s remakeovima jest da ako stvarno volite te filmove, onda ne želite napraviti remake", izjavio je austrijski redateljski duo Severin Fiala-Veronika Franz u ekskluzivnom intervjuu za “Slobodnu” krajem 2015., kad je njihov dijabolični i šokantni horor “Laku noć, mamice” dobio nominaciju za Europskog Oscara u kategoriji “otkriće godine”.

Fiala i Franz istaknuli su pritom neke dobre remakeove, čak i bolje od originala, poput “Stvora” i “Muhe”, ali i neke “uvredljivo loše” kao što je nova “Strava u Ulici brijestova”. Tom prilikom Fiala i Franz bili su upitani i koga bi voljeli vidjeti u glavnoj ulozi ako dođe do hollywoodskog remakea njihovog filma. Odgovor je bio – nikoga.

Sedam godina kasnije, Hollywood je napravio remake i američka verzija “Laku noć, mamice” (“Goodnight Mommy”) netom je doživjela streaming premijeru na Amazonu.

Nažalost, remake scenarista Kylea Warrena i redatelja Matta Sobela ispao je bliži nižim dometima “A Nightmare On Elm Street” i nije dostojan (kamoli superiorniji od) originala kao “The Thing” i “The Fly”. Ovo je jedan od onih nepotrebnih remakeova, snimljen ponajprije za američku publiku koja nema običaj gledati “strane” filmove nenaviknuta na čitanje titlova, a i da Amazon dobije jedan horor u recentnoj streaming ponudi (dokudrama “Trinaest života”, akcija “Samaritan”...).

Tko je gledao uznemirujuće intrigantni, tenzični i dvosmisleni originalni film, vjerojatno će se složiti kako je posrijedi ponajbolji europski horor 2010-ih i sjetiti da su neki gledatelji padali u nesvijest od šokova. Gledajući amerikaniziranu inačicu “Laku noć, mamice”, teško da itko može pasti u nesvijest, sve i da nije upoznat s originalom kojeg prilično doslovno kopira u osnovnoj priči.

Otac (Peter Hermann) ostavlja sinove blizance Eliasa i Lucasa (Cameron Crovetti, Nicholas Crovetti) u izoliranoj kući kod majke (Naomi Watts). Sinovi već neko vrijeme nisu vidjeli mamu koja na glavi ima zavoje od friške operacije. “Mama je trebala promjenu, svjež početak”, kaže ona i traži da sinovi drže prigušeno svjetlo u kući jer “sunce nije dobro za njezinu kožu”.

Je li mama glumica koja se odlučila na plastičnu kirurgiju, manje je bitno od toga je li ta žena stvarno njihova majka. Jer, ponaša se čudno, ima kratak fitilj, puši, odbija sinovima pjevati pjesmu za laku noć kao nekoć i zabranjuje im da ulaze u njezinu sobu i posjećuju staju.

”Zar ne misliš da je nešto drukčije?”, pita jedan brat drugoga kad počnu dvojiti tko se zapravo krije ispod zavoja i gdje je njihova mama ako to nije ona. Strah od toga da bi netko koga znate i volite mogao zapravo biti netko drugi bio je košmarno hororičan u izvorniku koji je propitivao majčinstvo i majčinsku ljubav, sjekavši škarama prirodnu vezu između majke i djece.

”Ona je naša mama, mora nas voljeti, to joj je posao”, kaže u to ime jedan sin u remakeu, ali novi film je blijeda kopija, lišena neuvijeno sadističkog hororskog intenziteta (scena kad klinci pokušaju preuzeti stvari u svoje ruke) i psihološki zagonetne dvosmislenosti kompleksnog originala.

Nešto tako je potencirano samo tijekom snomorice a la “Under The Skin” u kojoj majka skida kožu kao da je ronilačko odijelo. Jedino što je bolje u remakeu jest uloga odlične Watts koja i ispod maske drži glumački “masterclass”, ali nedovoljno da spasi film. Strava u remakeu je ostala u zavojima.
