Premda je još prije samo tri mjeseca rezolutno odbijala dati zeleno svjetlo za prodaju borbenih aviona tipa Eurofighter Saudijskoj Arabiji, njemačka vlada naglo je promijenila mišljenje. Više je nego izvjesno da će tako 48 novih Eurofightera ubrzo na put prema Rijadu.
Prema izjavi ministrice vanjskih poslova Njemačke Analenne Baerbock (Zeleni) za posjeta Jeruzalemu, Berlin je spreman odustati od veta na isporuku dodatnih Eurofightera Saudijskoj Arabiji.

Eurofighter Typhoon je višenamjenski borbeni zrakoplov nastao suradnjom triju kompanija, Alenia Aeronautica, BAE Systems i EADS-a (danas Airbus). Projekt je od početka zamišljen kao zajednički program razvoja lovca za europske potrebe. Osim četiri države koje su sudjelovale u razvoju (Britanija, Njemačka, Španjolska i Italija) te su primarni korisnici zrakoplova, 15 Eurofighera je naručilo i Austrijsko ratno zrakoplovstvo, kao i Saudijska Arabija koja je ukupno rezervirala 72 lovca.
Njemačka koalicijska vlada sastavljena od socijaldemokrata, zelenih i liberala u srpnju je bila čvrsto odlučila staviti veto na isporuku nove tranše borbenih aviona Eurofighter bogatoj zaljevskoj državi represivnih i krajnje nedemokratskih manira. Veto je trebao vrijediti sve do kraja mandata aktualne vlade u Berlinu, dakle do jeseni 2025., ali su proračunske rupe i slutnja recesije u Njemačkoj očito ubrzano strmoglavili njemačke moralne i demokratske kriterije u korist onih financijskih.
Izvoz oružja u Saudijsku Arabiju cijelom EU-u je donedavno bio vrlo kontroverzan zbog situacije s ljudskim pravima u tom kraljevstvu, kao i zbog vojnih intervencija te suspektne sile u regionalnim sukobima. Svojedobno ubojstvo kritičnog saudijskog novinara Jamala Khashoggija i njegovo ritualno komadanje u saudijskom konzulatu u Turskoj po narudžbi režima u Rijadu sad je, međutim, instantno zaboravljeno, baš kao i sporno saudijsko upletanje u sukob u Jemenu.

Realno objašnjenje zašto je došlo do obrata u stavovima Berlina prema Saudijcima prigodno je kamuflirano trenutnom bliskoistočnom situacijom. Saudijska Arabija daje značajan doprinos sigurnosti Izraela, istaknula je šefica njemačke diplomacije u Jeruzalemu. Poručila je i da saudijsko ratno zrakoplovstvo, koje koristi Eurofightere, predano obara rakete koje pobunjeni jemenski Huti ispaljuju na Izrael.
Time Saudijska Arabija jako pomaže Izraelu i obuzdava rizik od regionalne eskalacije, rekla je ministrica Baerbock poslije razgovora s izraelskim predsjednikom Isaakom Herzogom. Nudeći promjenu u ponašanju režima u Rijadu kao službeni motiv za njemački odustanak od veta na isporuku borbenih aviona, ministrica je kazala kako smatra izuzetnima to što Izrael i Saudijska Arabija nakon terorističkih napada islamističkog Hamasa 7. listopada "nisu odustali od svojega pravca normalizacije odnosa".

Odlukom da se Eurofighteri uskoro prodaju Saudijcima u Berlinu će sigurno biti puno zadovoljniji u vladajućem SPD-u i u uredu kancelara Olafa Scholza nego u redovima Zelenih, njihovih koalicijskih partnera. Između Socijaldemokratske partije Njemačke (SPD), Liberalno demokratske partije (FDP) i Zelenih još je, naime, od lanjskog proljeća tinjao unutarkoalicijski spor oko ovog pitanja, dok nije okončan srpanjskim sporazumom u kojem je stajalo da Njemačka ne izdaje izvozne dozvole za oružje državama dok su direktno uključene u jemenski rat.
Osim Saudijske Arabije, ova odluka se odnosila i na Ujedinjene Arapske Emirate. Zeleni su od početka jako forsirali uskratu aviona Rijadu i čvrsto držanje njemačkog oružja pod ključem, dok je SPD s kancelarem Scholtzom odmah zagovarao puno fleksibilniji i pragmatičniji stav.

Britanci su, razumljivo, od samog početka bili za posve slobodnu trgovinu oružjem s državom čuvenoj po kršenju ljudskih prava. S krizom u njemačkoj državnoj blagajni očito strmoglavo padaju i zadnje moralne barijere u europskoj politici, pa se i oružje i borbeni avioni spremaju slobodno izvoziti suspektnim i krvavim zaljevskim despocijama, dok se istodobno svi skanjuju nad isporukom iranskih dronova i sjevernokorejskih raketa zločinačkoj Moskvi.

Eurofighter Typhoon je višenamjenski borbeni zrakoplov nastao suradnjom triju kompanija, Alenia Aeronautica, BAE Systems i EADS-a (danas Airbus). Projekt je od početka zamišljen kao zajednički program razvoja lovca za europske potrebe. Osim četiri države koje su sudjelovale u razvoju (Britanija, Njemačka, Španjolska i Italija) te su primarni korisnici zrakoplova, 15 Eurofighera je naručilo i Austrijsko ratno zrakoplovstvo, kao i Saudijska Arabija koja je ukupno rezervirala 72 lovca.
Njemačka koalicijska vlada sastavljena od socijaldemokrata, zelenih i liberala u srpnju je bila čvrsto odlučila staviti veto na isporuku nove tranše borbenih aviona Eurofighter bogatoj zaljevskoj državi represivnih i krajnje nedemokratskih manira. Veto je trebao vrijediti sve do kraja mandata aktualne vlade u Berlinu, dakle do jeseni 2025., ali su proračunske rupe i slutnja recesije u Njemačkoj očito ubrzano strmoglavili njemačke moralne i demokratske kriterije u korist onih financijskih.
Izvoz oružja u Saudijsku Arabiju cijelom EU-u je donedavno bio vrlo kontroverzan zbog situacije s ljudskim pravima u tom kraljevstvu, kao i zbog vojnih intervencija te suspektne sile u regionalnim sukobima. Svojedobno ubojstvo kritičnog saudijskog novinara Jamala Khashoggija i njegovo ritualno komadanje u saudijskom konzulatu u Turskoj po narudžbi režima u Rijadu sad je, međutim, instantno zaboravljeno, baš kao i sporno saudijsko upletanje u sukob u Jemenu.

Realno objašnjenje zašto je došlo do obrata u stavovima Berlina prema Saudijcima prigodno je kamuflirano trenutnom bliskoistočnom situacijom. Saudijska Arabija daje značajan doprinos sigurnosti Izraela, istaknula je šefica njemačke diplomacije u Jeruzalemu. Poručila je i da saudijsko ratno zrakoplovstvo, koje koristi Eurofightere, predano obara rakete koje pobunjeni jemenski Huti ispaljuju na Izrael.
Time Saudijska Arabija jako pomaže Izraelu i obuzdava rizik od regionalne eskalacije, rekla je ministrica Baerbock poslije razgovora s izraelskim predsjednikom Isaakom Herzogom. Nudeći promjenu u ponašanju režima u Rijadu kao službeni motiv za njemački odustanak od veta na isporuku borbenih aviona, ministrica je kazala kako smatra izuzetnima to što Izrael i Saudijska Arabija nakon terorističkih napada islamističkog Hamasa 7. listopada "nisu odustali od svojega pravca normalizacije odnosa".

Odlukom da se Eurofighteri uskoro prodaju Saudijcima u Berlinu će sigurno biti puno zadovoljniji u vladajućem SPD-u i u uredu kancelara Olafa Scholza nego u redovima Zelenih, njihovih koalicijskih partnera. Između Socijaldemokratske partije Njemačke (SPD), Liberalno demokratske partije (FDP) i Zelenih još je, naime, od lanjskog proljeća tinjao unutarkoalicijski spor oko ovog pitanja, dok nije okončan srpanjskim sporazumom u kojem je stajalo da Njemačka ne izdaje izvozne dozvole za oružje državama dok su direktno uključene u jemenski rat.
Osim Saudijske Arabije, ova odluka se odnosila i na Ujedinjene Arapske Emirate. Zeleni su od početka jako forsirali uskratu aviona Rijadu i čvrsto držanje njemačkog oružja pod ključem, dok je SPD s kancelarem Scholtzom odmah zagovarao puno fleksibilniji i pragmatičniji stav.

Britanci su, razumljivo, od samog početka bili za posve slobodnu trgovinu oružjem s državom čuvenoj po kršenju ljudskih prava. S krizom u njemačkoj državnoj blagajni očito strmoglavo padaju i zadnje moralne barijere u europskoj politici, pa se i oružje i borbeni avioni spremaju slobodno izvoziti suspektnim i krvavim zaljevskim despocijama, dok se istodobno svi skanjuju nad isporukom iranskih dronova i sjevernokorejskih raketa zločinačkoj Moskvi.
