Zdravstvene agencije u Velikoj Britaniji potvrdile su do sada ukupno 77 slučajeva varijante koronavirusa B.1.617, koju virolozi opisuju da nosi "potencijalno zabrinjavajuće mutacije", prenosi N1.
Do 14. travnja Public Health England (PHE) utvrdio je 73 slučaja zaraze građana varijantom B.1.617 u Engleskoj i četiri u Škotskoj, donosi Guardian. Ovo je prvi put da je mutirani oblik SARS-CoV-2, koji se izvorno razvio u Indiji, zabilježio u Europi.
“On trenutno ima oznaku ‘varijante pod istragom’. Ako se zabrinutost pokaže opravdanom, odnono ako se pokaže da je riječ o zaraznijem obliku virusa ili otpornijem na imunološki odgovor organizma, može ga se označiti kao ‘zabrinjavajuću varijantu'”, objasnila je Guardianova reporterka, specijalizirana za znanost.
N1 je krajem ožujka objavio vijest da je Indija detektirala novu “dvostruko mutiranu varijantu” koronavirusa. Manje od jednog mjeseca otkako je ministarstvo zdravlja objavilo da je potvrđeno da se i u Indiji razvio specifičan mutirani oblik novog koronavirusa, on je dosegnuo Europu.
Tragom najnovije vijesti o ovoj varijanti koronavirusa, koja nosi tri mutacije, od koje su dvije takve da se smatra da bi ovaj oblik virusa mogle činiti opasnijim, Der Spiegel je pronašao da znanstvenici strahuju da bi upravo B.1.617 mogao biti odgovoran za eksploziju covida-19 u najvećim gradovima Indije.
Indija je 2019. imala milijardu i 366 milijuna stanovnika, od kojih brojni milijuni žive u užasnim uvjetima slamova u tamošnjim megagradovima. Unatoč tome, Indija je sve donedavno kroz pandemiju prolazila relativno dobro, imajući u vidu ekstremnu skučenost ljudi u slamovima i nerijetko praktično nikakve mogućnosti higijene.
“Ipak, ovog tjedna broj zaraženih u New Delhiju i Mumbaiju je eksplodirao, u dvama najvećim gradovima. U četvrtak se zarazilo 200.000 ljudi, tako koliko nije još nikad od početka pandemije”, navodi Der Spiegel.
Njemački medij konstatira da se porast dnevnog broja zaraženih u Indiji bilježio tjednima. To isto naveo je i N1 u svojoj agencijskoj vijesti s kraja ožujka o potvrđenom razvoju “indijskog soja” koronavirusa, jer i tada je bila riječ o rekordnim brojkama.
U međuvremenu je Indija imala velike vjerske praznike, mase su se kupale u Gangesu, često ne vodeći računa o razmaku, a i na svečanostima uopće često se maske nisu nosile. Najnovije laboratorijske pretrage genome uzoraka u saveznoj državi Maharashtra pokazale su da se čak 60 posto novooboljelih od covida odnosi na varijantu B.1.617.
Riječ je o upravo onoj državi u kojoj je u ožujku uopće po prvi put otkriven novi soj virusa, a za kojega je utvrđeno da u sebi nosi dokazano opasne mutacije prisutne kod britanskog i kod južnoafričkog soja.
Mutacije virusa su inače dio prirodnog razvoja virusa i većina ih je nebitna za epidemiju. Ipak, što se virus masovnije širi u populaciji, odnosno što ima manje prepreka u vidu epidemioloških mjera, mutacija je više i u toj brojnosti veća je vjerojatnost da će se razvijati i one mutacije koje će virusu predstavljati novu prednost, a čovječanstvu veću opasnost.
O posljedicama mutacija, tada je konkretno bila riječ o britanskom soju B.1.1.7, N1 je pisao nedavno, navodeći rezultate istraživanja iz Naturea kojim se utvrdilo da britanski soj sa sobom nosi 55 posto veću smrtnost kod oboljelih.
N1 je tada prenio i izjave hrvatske znanstvenice Petre Klepac, inače članice Vladinog Znanstvenog savjeta koja radi u Londonu, o mutacijama:
“One također mogu smanjiti efektivnost cjepiva. Treba napomenuti da, što je više ljudi zaraženo virusom, ima više prilika za mutacije pa vjerojatnost da dođe do bitne mutacije raste. To nam daje još jedan argument da što više snizimo razinu zaraze u populaciji dok ne dođe cjepivo kako bi se smanjila vjerojatnost takvih mutacija.”
Der Spiegel u svojoj analizi u Europi novootkrivenog soja iz Indije navodi i to da je vjerojatnost da će virus razviti mutaciju to veća što se virus duže uspijeva zadržati u svom “domaćinu” i othrvavati se imunološkom sustavu oboljeloga. Stručnjaci još uvijek nisu sigurni je li uzrok znatno većem širenju covida u Indiji u posljednje vrijeme pojava varijante B.1.617., prenosi N1.
“Broj uzoraka još je uvijek premalen da bismo iz toga direktno mogli zaključiti”, prenio je njemački medij izjavu Sujeeta Kumara Singha, direktora glavnog državnog tijela za zdravstvo u Indiji, koju je dao za The Indian Express.
Guardian je pak citirao britanskog znanstvenika Paula Huntera sa Sveučilišta East Anglia:
“Nove varijante mogu se pokazati da ih je još teže kontrolirati cijepljenjem od onih varijanti koje su se pojavile u Brazilu i u Južnoafričkoj Republici.”

Zdravstvene agencije u Velikoj Britaniji potvrdile su do sada ukupno 77 slučajeva varijante koronavirusa B.1.617, koju virolozi opisuju da nosi "potencijalno zabrinjavajuće mutacije", prenosi N1.
Do 14. travnja Public Health England (PHE) utvrdio je 73 slučaja zaraze građana varijantom B.1.617 u Engleskoj i četiri u Škotskoj, donosi Guardian. Ovo je prvi put da je mutirani oblik SARS-CoV-2, koji se izvorno razvio u Indiji, zabilježio u Europi.
“On trenutno ima oznaku ‘varijante pod istragom’. Ako se zabrinutost pokaže opravdanom, odnono ako se pokaže da je riječ o zaraznijem obliku virusa ili otpornijem na imunološki odgovor organizma, može ga se označiti kao ‘zabrinjavajuću varijantu'”, objasnila je Guardianova reporterka, specijalizirana za znanost.
N1 je krajem ožujka objavio vijest da je Indija detektirala novu “dvostruko mutiranu varijantu” koronavirusa. Manje od jednog mjeseca otkako je ministarstvo zdravlja objavilo da je potvrđeno da se i u Indiji razvio specifičan mutirani oblik novog koronavirusa, on je dosegnuo Europu.
Tragom najnovije vijesti o ovoj varijanti koronavirusa, koja nosi tri mutacije, od koje su dvije takve da se smatra da bi ovaj oblik virusa mogle činiti opasnijim, Der Spiegel je pronašao da znanstvenici strahuju da bi upravo B.1.617 mogao biti odgovoran za eksploziju covida-19 u najvećim gradovima Indije.
Indija je 2019. imala milijardu i 366 milijuna stanovnika, od kojih brojni milijuni žive u užasnim uvjetima slamova u tamošnjim megagradovima. Unatoč tome, Indija je sve donedavno kroz pandemiju prolazila relativno dobro, imajući u vidu ekstremnu skučenost ljudi u slamovima i nerijetko praktično nikakve mogućnosti higijene.
“Ipak, ovog tjedna broj zaraženih u New Delhiju i Mumbaiju je eksplodirao, u dvama najvećim gradovima. U četvrtak se zarazilo 200.000 ljudi, tako koliko nije još nikad od početka pandemije”, navodi Der Spiegel.
Njemački medij konstatira da se porast dnevnog broja zaraženih u Indiji bilježio tjednima. To isto naveo je i N1 u svojoj agencijskoj vijesti s kraja ožujka o potvrđenom razvoju “indijskog soja” koronavirusa, jer i tada je bila riječ o rekordnim brojkama.
U međuvremenu je Indija imala velike vjerske praznike, mase su se kupale u Gangesu, često ne vodeći računa o razmaku, a i na svečanostima uopće često se maske nisu nosile. Najnovije laboratorijske pretrage genome uzoraka u saveznoj državi Maharashtra pokazale su da se čak 60 posto novooboljelih od covida odnosi na varijantu B.1.617.
Riječ je o upravo onoj državi u kojoj je u ožujku uopće po prvi put otkriven novi soj virusa, a za kojega je utvrđeno da u sebi nosi dokazano opasne mutacije prisutne kod britanskog i kod južnoafričkog soja.
Mutacije virusa su inače dio prirodnog razvoja virusa i većina ih je nebitna za epidemiju. Ipak, što se virus masovnije širi u populaciji, odnosno što ima manje prepreka u vidu epidemioloških mjera, mutacija je više i u toj brojnosti veća je vjerojatnost da će se razvijati i one mutacije koje će virusu predstavljati novu prednost, a čovječanstvu veću opasnost.
O posljedicama mutacija, tada je konkretno bila riječ o britanskom soju B.1.1.7, N1 je pisao nedavno, navodeći rezultate istraživanja iz Naturea kojim se utvrdilo da britanski soj sa sobom nosi 55 posto veću smrtnost kod oboljelih.
N1 je tada prenio i izjave hrvatske znanstvenice Petre Klepac, inače članice Vladinog Znanstvenog savjeta koja radi u Londonu, o mutacijama:
“One također mogu smanjiti efektivnost cjepiva. Treba napomenuti da, što je više ljudi zaraženo virusom, ima više prilika za mutacije pa vjerojatnost da dođe do bitne mutacije raste. To nam daje još jedan argument da što više snizimo razinu zaraze u populaciji dok ne dođe cjepivo kako bi se smanjila vjerojatnost takvih mutacija.”
Der Spiegel u svojoj analizi u Europi novootkrivenog soja iz Indije navodi i to da je vjerojatnost da će virus razviti mutaciju to veća što se virus duže uspijeva zadržati u svom “domaćinu” i othrvavati se imunološkom sustavu oboljeloga. Stručnjaci još uvijek nisu sigurni je li uzrok znatno većem širenju covida u Indiji u posljednje vrijeme pojava varijante B.1.617., prenosi N1.
“Broj uzoraka još je uvijek premalen da bismo iz toga direktno mogli zaključiti”, prenio je njemački medij izjavu Sujeeta Kumara Singha, direktora glavnog državnog tijela za zdravstvo u Indiji, koju je dao za The Indian Express.
Guardian je pak citirao britanskog znanstvenika Paula Huntera sa Sveučilišta East Anglia:
“Nove varijante mogu se pokazati da ih je još teže kontrolirati cijepljenjem od onih varijanti koje su se pojavile u Brazilu i u Južnoafričkoj Republici.”
