U Zaporiškoj i Donjeckoj oblasti ukrajinske trupe uvjerljivo postaju gospodari noći. Dok se ukrajinska protuofenziva približava svom trećem tjednu, sve više ukrajinskih napada počinje pod okriljem mraka.

Prelazak Ukrajinaca na operacije po mraku nije bio moguć sve donedavno. Najveća prednost stotina modernih tenkova i borbenih vozila koje je Kijev dobio od svojih zapadnih saveznika razotkrila se na fronti tek s protekom vremena: to je njihova optika, uključujući termalnu opremu za noćno promatranje koja može uočiti neprijateljske snage s udaljenosti od nekoliko tisuća metara, i to u potpunom mraku.

Koliko je važna ta prednost pri suočenju borbenih trupa u Ukrajini nakon zalaska sunca primijetili su čak i ruski vojni blogeri. Više njih je objavilo kako "uvozna ukrajinska oprema ima izvrsnu noćnu optiku". Ona im omogućuje, zaključili su, brojne noćne pokrete, nadzor, precizno ciljanje i kontrolu preciznosti vatre. "Nije čudno što neprijatelj sve češće za ‘radno vrijeme‘ bira noć", pišu čak i radikalni ruski ratni blogeri.

Ukrajinska protuofenziva započela je u noći 4. lipnja. Već za nekoliko dana ruski promatrači primijetili su neobičan obrazac: "Ukrajinci provode aktivne operacije ofenzivne prirode uglavnom noću". Ispočetka su sumnjali da ukrajinske snage prakticiraju noćne operacije kako bi se sakrile od dnevnog preleta ruskih helikoptera, ratnih zrakoplova i bespilotnih letjelica, ili kako bi iskoristile svoju superiornu optiku.

Jedan je promoskovski jastreb na svom blogu opisao ukrajinski noćni napad u Zaporižju 10. lipnja. "Nakon snažne vatrene pripreme upotrebom topništva i raketa tipa Grad, Ukrajinci su lansirali signalne rakete i moćne iluminatore na nebo kako bi otkrili naše položaje.

Nakon toga, neprijatelj je u napad iz više pravaca krenuo s nekoliko oklopnih jedinica praćenih ljudstvom. Ruske mine i topništvo otupile su ovaj napad, opisano je ukrajinsko noćno djelovanje na kanalu Z na aplikaciji Telegram.

Takav noćni napad očito nije bio iznimka, nego pravilo. Fotografije i videozapisi s južnog ukrajinskog fronta naglašavaju ekstremnu opasnost koju mine i topništvo predstavljaju za ukrajinske snage koje napadaju. Pokušaj 33. mehanizirane i 47. jurišne brigade ukrajinske vojske da danju prijeđu rusko minsko polje južno od Male Tokmačke kod Neskušne završio je katastrofom 8. lipnja. Debakl u Maloj Tokmački preusmjerio je ukrajinsku protuofenzivu: ukrajinske snage nakon nje napadaju duž nekoliko smjerova u Zaporižju i Donjecku i na njima uglavnom napreduju, osobito uz korito rijeke Mokri Yali.

Noćna tehnološka prednost Ukrajinaca objašnjava njihov tamošnji napredak. Čak i noću, sve im je jasno kao da je dan, a naše snage su limitirane, opisao je situaciju jedan realistični ruski bloger. Najbolja ukrajinska optika bi se mogla pripisati tenkovima Leopard 2 kojima upravljaju 33. mehanizirana brigada i 4. tenkovska brigada. Ove brigade su izgubile četiri ili pet Leoparda od ukupno stotinu istih tenkova njemačke proizvodnje koje su ukrajinski saveznici obećali i donirali Kijevu za daljnje ratne napore.

Dosadašnji gubici opovrgavaju učinkovitost Leoparda u dvobojima s ruskim topništvom i tenkovima s velike udaljenosti. No, njihove prednosti iznimno se ističu u mraku. "Imaju mnogo stranih tenkova", primjećuje jedan od ruskih analitičara na kanalu Z na Telegramu. "Pucaju vrlo precizno, pogotovo noću, te svakodnevno vidimo kako se na Leopardima termalne kamere jebeno isplate."

U Zaporiškoj i Donjeckoj oblasti ukrajinske trupe uvjerljivo postaju gospodari noći. Dok se ukrajinska protuofenziva približava svom trećem tjednu, sve više ukrajinskih napada počinje pod okriljem mraka.

Prelazak Ukrajinaca na operacije po mraku nije bio moguć sve donedavno. Najveća prednost stotina modernih tenkova i borbenih vozila koje je Kijev dobio od svojih zapadnih saveznika razotkrila se na fronti tek s protekom vremena: to je njihova optika, uključujući termalnu opremu za noćno promatranje koja može uočiti neprijateljske snage s udaljenosti od nekoliko tisuća metara, i to u potpunom mraku.

Koliko je važna ta prednost pri suočenju borbenih trupa u Ukrajini nakon zalaska sunca primijetili su čak i ruski vojni blogeri. Više njih je objavilo kako "uvozna ukrajinska oprema ima izvrsnu noćnu optiku". Ona im omogućuje, zaključili su, brojne noćne pokrete, nadzor, precizno ciljanje i kontrolu preciznosti vatre. "Nije čudno što neprijatelj sve češće za ‘radno vrijeme‘ bira noć", pišu čak i radikalni ruski ratni blogeri.

Ukrajinska protuofenziva započela je u noći 4. lipnja. Već za nekoliko dana ruski promatrači primijetili su neobičan obrazac: "Ukrajinci provode aktivne operacije ofenzivne prirode uglavnom noću". Ispočetka su sumnjali da ukrajinske snage prakticiraju noćne operacije kako bi se sakrile od dnevnog preleta ruskih helikoptera, ratnih zrakoplova i bespilotnih letjelica, ili kako bi iskoristile svoju superiornu optiku.

Jedan je promoskovski jastreb na svom blogu opisao ukrajinski noćni napad u Zaporižju 10. lipnja. "Nakon snažne vatrene pripreme upotrebom topništva i raketa tipa Grad, Ukrajinci su lansirali signalne rakete i moćne iluminatore na nebo kako bi otkrili naše položaje.

Nakon toga, neprijatelj je u napad iz više pravaca krenuo s nekoliko oklopnih jedinica praćenih ljudstvom. Ruske mine i topništvo otupile su ovaj napad, opisano je ukrajinsko noćno djelovanje na kanalu Z na aplikaciji Telegram.

Takav noćni napad očito nije bio iznimka, nego pravilo. Fotografije i videozapisi s južnog ukrajinskog fronta naglašavaju ekstremnu opasnost koju mine i topništvo predstavljaju za ukrajinske snage koje napadaju. Pokušaj 33. mehanizirane i 47. jurišne brigade ukrajinske vojske da danju prijeđu rusko minsko polje južno od Male Tokmačke kod Neskušne završio je katastrofom 8. lipnja. Debakl u Maloj Tokmački preusmjerio je ukrajinsku protuofenzivu: ukrajinske snage nakon nje napadaju duž nekoliko smjerova u Zaporižju i Donjecku i na njima uglavnom napreduju, osobito uz korito rijeke Mokri Yali.

Noćna tehnološka prednost Ukrajinaca objašnjava njihov tamošnji napredak. Čak i noću, sve im je jasno kao da je dan, a naše snage su limitirane, opisao je situaciju jedan realistični ruski bloger. Najbolja ukrajinska optika bi se mogla pripisati tenkovima Leopard 2 kojima upravljaju 33. mehanizirana brigada i 4. tenkovska brigada. Ove brigade su izgubile četiri ili pet Leoparda od ukupno stotinu istih tenkova njemačke proizvodnje koje su ukrajinski saveznici obećali i donirali Kijevu za daljnje ratne napore.

Dosadašnji gubici opovrgavaju učinkovitost Leoparda u dvobojima s ruskim topništvom i tenkovima s velike udaljenosti. No, njihove prednosti iznimno se ističu u mraku. "Imaju mnogo stranih tenkova", primjećuje jedan od ruskih analitičara na kanalu Z na Telegramu. "Pucaju vrlo precizno, pogotovo noću, te svakodnevno vidimo kako se na Leopardima termalne kamere jebeno isplate."
