Zbog gotovo dvogodišnjeg sukoba u Etiopiji skoro je polovica stanovništva regije Tigraj u "teškoj" potrebi za hranom, dok se humanitarne skupine bore da dođu do stanovništva zbog nedovoljnih zaliha goriva, objavio je u petak Svjetski program za hranu (WFP).

Iako je isporuka pomoći nastavljena nakon što je savezna vlada proglasila jednostrani prekid vatre u ožujku, stope pothranjenosti su "skočile" i očekuje se da će se pogoršati, navodi agencija Ujedinjenih naroda u procjeni.

U Tigraju gdje živi oko 5,5 milijuna ljudi usluge poput bankarstva i telekomunikacija prekinute su nakon što su se nacionalna vojska i savezničke snage povukle prije godinu dana. Tek ih treba obnoviti, što ugrožava mogućnost ljudi da kupuju hranu, naglašava WFP.

"Glad je sve veća, stope pothranjenosti vrtoglavo su porasle, a situacija će se pogoršati kako dolazi vrhunac sezone gladi do ovogodišnje žetve u listopadu", stoji u izvješću.

Pothranjena je polovica trudnica ili dojilja u Tigraju i trećina djece mlađe od pet godina. Zbog pothranjenosti djeca zaostaju u rastu, a majke umiru, pokazuje izvješće.

Procjenjuje se da širom Tigraja i susjednih regija Afar i Amhara, također pogođenih ratom, 13 milijuna ljudi treba pomoć u hrani.

To je povećanje od 44 posto u usporedbi s prijašnjim izvješćem WFP-a objavljenom u siječnju.

Zbog gotovo dvogodišnjeg sukoba u Etiopiji skoro je polovica stanovništva regije Tigraj u "teškoj" potrebi za hranom, dok se humanitarne skupine bore da dođu do stanovništva zbog nedovoljnih zaliha goriva, objavio je u petak Svjetski program za hranu (WFP).

Iako je isporuka pomoći nastavljena nakon što je savezna vlada proglasila jednostrani prekid vatre u ožujku, stope pothranjenosti su "skočile" i očekuje se da će se pogoršati, navodi agencija Ujedinjenih naroda u procjeni.

U Tigraju gdje živi oko 5,5 milijuna ljudi usluge poput bankarstva i telekomunikacija prekinute su nakon što su se nacionalna vojska i savezničke snage povukle prije godinu dana. Tek ih treba obnoviti, što ugrožava mogućnost ljudi da kupuju hranu, naglašava WFP.

"Glad je sve veća, stope pothranjenosti vrtoglavo su porasle, a situacija će se pogoršati kako dolazi vrhunac sezone gladi do ovogodišnje žetve u listopadu", stoji u izvješću.

Pothranjena je polovica trudnica ili dojilja u Tigraju i trećina djece mlađe od pet godina. Zbog pothranjenosti djeca zaostaju u rastu, a majke umiru, pokazuje izvješće.

Procjenjuje se da širom Tigraja i susjednih regija Afar i Amhara, također pogođenih ratom, 13 milijuna ljudi treba pomoć u hrani.

To je povećanje od 44 posto u usporedbi s prijašnjim izvješćem WFP-a objavljenom u siječnju.

U etiopskom Tigraju gotovo polovici stanovništva nužna pomoć u hrani: stope pothranjenosti su ‘skočile‘ i očekuje se da će se pogoršati

Zbog gotovo dvogodišnjeg sukoba u Etiopiji skoro je polovica stanovništva regije Tigraj u "teškoj" potrebi za hranom, dok se humanitarne skupine bore da dođu do stanovništva zbog nedovoljnih zaliha goriva, objavio je u petak Svjetski program za hranu (WFP).

Iako je isporuka pomoći nastavljena nakon što je savezna vlada proglasila jednostrani prekid vatre u ožujku, stope pothranjenosti su "skočile" i očekuje se da će se pogoršati, navodi agencija Ujedinjenih naroda u procjeni.

U Tigraju gdje živi oko 5,5 milijuna ljudi usluge poput bankarstva i telekomunikacija prekinute su nakon što su se nacionalna vojska i savezničke snage povukle prije godinu dana. Tek ih treba obnoviti, što ugrožava mogućnost ljudi da kupuju hranu, naglašava WFP.
