Najmanje petorica radnika poginula su, a deseci su ozlijeđeni u subotu u Bangladešu nakon što je policija otvorila vatru na skupinu radnika na gradilištu termoelektrane koji su prosvjedovali tražeći neisplaćene plaće i povišicu, kazali su mjesni dužnosnici i policija.

Policija je otvorila vatru na oko 2000 prosvjednika koji su počeli bacati cigle i kamenje na policajce na gradilištu termoelektrane na ugljen u jugoistočnom gradu Chittagongu, rekao je dužnosnik mjesne policije Azizul Islam.

Četvorica prosvjednika umrla su na mjestu događaja, a još jedan u bolnici, rekao je. Među ozlijeđenima su najmanje šestorica policajaca. Radnici su napali i na nekoliko mjesta zapalili elektranu u izgradnji koja se nalazi 265 kilometara jugoistočno od Dhake.

Prosvjedovali su zbog neisplaćenih plaća i tražili povišicu i kraće radno vrijeme tijekom svetog mjeseca ramazana, koji je počeo ovaj tjedan, rekao je mjesni dužnosnik Saiduzzaman Chowdhury.

Elektrana vrijedna 2,4 milijarda američkih dolara jedna je od najvećih kineskih investicija u toj zemlji. Kineski div SEPCOIII vlasnik je 30 posto elektrane, a grupa S. Alam 70 posto. Zbog te elektrane zadnjih je godina izbilo više smrtonosnih prosvjeda. Godine 2016. poginulo je četvero ljudi, a 2017. jedan muškarac.

Aktivisti upozoravaju da elektrana ne zadovoljava ekološke standarde i da je se gradi bez javnih konzultacija.
Izvršni direktor S. Alama, Subrata Kumar Bhowmick, rekao je da je elektrana 40 posto dovršena te da na izgradnji radi oko 3000 radnika. 

Radnike je zaposlio kineski izvođač radova, rekli su neimenovani dužnosnici te tvrtke.

Najmanje petorica radnika poginula su, a deseci su ozlijeđeni u subotu u Bangladešu nakon što je policija otvorila vatru na skupinu radnika na gradilištu termoelektrane koji su prosvjedovali tražeći neisplaćene plaće i povišicu, kazali su mjesni dužnosnici i policija.

Policija je otvorila vatru na oko 2000 prosvjednika koji su počeli bacati cigle i kamenje na policajce na gradilištu termoelektrane na ugljen u jugoistočnom gradu Chittagongu, rekao je dužnosnik mjesne policije Azizul Islam.

Četvorica prosvjednika umrla su na mjestu događaja, a još jedan u bolnici, rekao je. Među ozlijeđenima su najmanje šestorica policajaca. Radnici su napali i na nekoliko mjesta zapalili elektranu u izgradnji koja se nalazi 265 kilometara jugoistočno od Dhake.

Prosvjedovali su zbog neisplaćenih plaća i tražili povišicu i kraće radno vrijeme tijekom svetog mjeseca ramazana, koji je počeo ovaj tjedan, rekao je mjesni dužnosnik Saiduzzaman Chowdhury.

Elektrana vrijedna 2,4 milijarda američkih dolara jedna je od najvećih kineskih investicija u toj zemlji. Kineski div SEPCOIII vlasnik je 30 posto elektrane, a grupa S. Alam 70 posto. Zbog te elektrane zadnjih je godina izbilo više smrtonosnih prosvjeda. Godine 2016. poginulo je četvero ljudi, a 2017. jedan muškarac.

Aktivisti upozoravaju da elektrana ne zadovoljava ekološke standarde i da je se gradi bez javnih konzultacija.
Izvršni direktor S. Alama, Subrata Kumar Bhowmick, rekao je da je elektrana 40 posto dovršena te da na izgradnji radi oko 3000 radnika. 

Radnike je zaposlio kineski izvođač radova, rekli su neimenovani dužnosnici te tvrtke.

Najmanje petorica radnika poginula su, a deseci su ozlijeđeni u subotu u Bangladešu nakon što je policija otvorila vatru na skupinu radnika na gradilištu termoelektrane koji su prosvjedovali tražeći neisplaćene plaće i povišicu, kazali su mjesni dužnosnici i policija.

Policija je otvorila vatru na oko 2000 prosvjednika koji su počeli bacati cigle i kamenje na policajce na gradilištu termoelektrane na ugljen u jugoistočnom gradu Chittagongu, rekao je dužnosnik mjesne policije Azizul Islam.

Četvorica prosvjednika umrla su na mjestu događaja, a još jedan u bolnici, rekao je. Među ozlijeđenima su najmanje šestorica policajaca. Radnici su napali i na nekoliko mjesta zapalili elektranu u izgradnji koja se nalazi 265 kilometara jugoistočno od Dhake.
