Nicolas Maduro, nasljednik Huga Chaveza na čelu Venezuele, nakon sedmogodišnje vladavine zemljom temeljem predsjedničkih dekreta osvojio je i ključnu točku oporbenog otpora, parlament.

Zahvaljujući golemoj izbornoj apstinenciji od gotovo 70 posto građana s biračkim pravom, koje su vodeće oporbene stranke pozvale da zbog izgledne prevare ostanu kod kuće, Maduro je osigurao kontrolu svoje socijalističke partije nad Nacionalnom skupštinom: sa svojim je ljevičarskim saveznicima osvojio 68 posto mandata, a opozicija tek 18 posto.

Time je svojemu konkurentu i predsjedniku parlamenta Juanu Guaidu, kojega većina zapadnih zemalja priznaje kao legitimnog privremenog predsjednika Venezuele, izmaknuo ispod nogu glavnu političku platformu za djelovanje i moguće preuzimanje vlasti. Izlaznost od samo 31 posto Madurovoj stranci ne nudi uzoran izborni legitimitet, ali jamči posve legalnu i nesmetanu političku moć.

Paradoks ove završnice podcrtava činjenica da je na izborima 2015. oporba bila prekinula dugogodišnju parlamentarnu hegemoniju 'chavista', osvojivši tad većinu mandata uz izlaznost veću od 70 posto.

Već iduće godine oporba pokreće proceduru opoziva predsjednika, no Vrhovni sud, izborno povjerenstvo i vojska ostale su čvrste uporišne točke Madura i sljedbenika. Demokraciji i narodu u Venezueli nije pomoglo ni to što su zemlji iz SAD-a nametnute okrutne sankcije, čime je tamošnju ekonomiju smrtno pogodio embargo na izvoz nafte.

Paralizirana manjkovima strateških roba, prekidima u opskrbi energentima i opterećena enormnom godišnjom inflacijom, Venezuela je već godinama na koljenima, a prosječna mjesečna plaća nerijetko je nedovoljna za kupnju kilograma mesa ili duzine jaja.

Nesuđeni vođa države i šef opozicije Juan Guaido ugrozio je u međuvremenu vlastitu popularnost upornim pozivima međunarodnoj zajednici na proširenje i jačanje sankcija. Pogrešno je odigrao i igru s pozivanjem birača na izborni bojkot, pa sad gorko zaključuje kako je Venezuela masovnom apstinencijom okrenula leđa Maduru i njegovoj izbornoj prevari.

Maduro i njegovi saveznici su uoči izbora poticali izlaznost obećanjima skorog prekida embarga na izvoz nafte, te su pozivali oporbu da prekine s ekstremističkim idejama i ujedini narod oko zahtjeva novom američkom predsjedniku Joeu Bidenu za ukidanjem sankcija.

Kriza u Venezueli očito se neće moći riješiti bez širih pregovora koji će uključiti ne samo Madura i opoziciju, već i glavne saveznike Venezuele – Kubu, Kinu, Rusiju i Iran, ocjenjuje američki Financial Times

 Novoizabrani predsjednik SAD-a suočit će se u Venezueli s nizom diplomatskih izazova, ali mirno rješenje najveće političke i humanitarne krize na američkom kontinentu svakako zaslužuje biti njegov ključni prioritet.

Nicolas Maduro, nasljednik Huga Chaveza na čelu Venezuele, nakon sedmogodišnje vladavine zemljom temeljem predsjedničkih dekreta osvojio je i ključnu točku oporbenog otpora, parlament.

Zahvaljujući golemoj izbornoj apstinenciji od gotovo 70 posto građana s biračkim pravom, koje su vodeće oporbene stranke pozvale da zbog izgledne prevare ostanu kod kuće, Maduro je osigurao kontrolu svoje socijalističke partije nad Nacionalnom skupštinom: sa svojim je ljevičarskim saveznicima osvojio 68 posto mandata, a opozicija tek 18 posto.

Time je svojemu konkurentu i predsjedniku parlamenta Juanu Guaidu, kojega većina zapadnih zemalja priznaje kao legitimnog privremenog predsjednika Venezuele, izmaknuo ispod nogu glavnu političku platformu za djelovanje i moguće preuzimanje vlasti. Izlaznost od samo 31 posto Madurovoj stranci ne nudi uzoran izborni legitimitet, ali jamči posve legalnu i nesmetanu političku moć.

Paradoks ove završnice podcrtava činjenica da je na izborima 2015. oporba bila prekinula dugogodišnju parlamentarnu hegemoniju 'chavista', osvojivši tad većinu mandata uz izlaznost veću od 70 posto.

Već iduće godine oporba pokreće proceduru opoziva predsjednika, no Vrhovni sud, izborno povjerenstvo i vojska ostale su čvrste uporišne točke Madura i sljedbenika. Demokraciji i narodu u Venezueli nije pomoglo ni to što su zemlji iz SAD-a nametnute okrutne sankcije, čime je tamošnju ekonomiju smrtno pogodio embargo na izvoz nafte.

Paralizirana manjkovima strateških roba, prekidima u opskrbi energentima i opterećena enormnom godišnjom inflacijom, Venezuela je već godinama na koljenima, a prosječna mjesečna plaća nerijetko je nedovoljna za kupnju kilograma mesa ili duzine jaja.

Nesuđeni vođa države i šef opozicije Juan Guaido ugrozio je u međuvremenu vlastitu popularnost upornim pozivima međunarodnoj zajednici na proširenje i jačanje sankcija. Pogrešno je odigrao i igru s pozivanjem birača na izborni bojkot, pa sad gorko zaključuje kako je Venezuela masovnom apstinencijom okrenula leđa Maduru i njegovoj izbornoj prevari.

Maduro i njegovi saveznici su uoči izbora poticali izlaznost obećanjima skorog prekida embarga na izvoz nafte, te su pozivali oporbu da prekine s ekstremističkim idejama i ujedini narod oko zahtjeva novom američkom predsjedniku Joeu Bidenu za ukidanjem sankcija.

Kriza u Venezueli očito se neće moći riješiti bez širih pregovora koji će uključiti ne samo Madura i opoziciju, već i glavne saveznike Venezuele – Kubu, Kinu, Rusiju i Iran, ocjenjuje američki Financial Times

 Novoizabrani predsjednik SAD-a suočit će se u Venezueli s nizom diplomatskih izazova, ali mirno rješenje najveće političke i humanitarne krize na američkom kontinentu svakako zaslužuje biti njegov ključni prioritet.

Nicolas Maduro, nasljednik Huga Chaveza na čelu Venezuele, nakon sedmogodišnje vladavine zemljom temeljem predsjedničkih dekreta osvojio je i ključnu točku oporbenog otpora, parlament.

Zahvaljujući golemoj izbornoj apstinenciji od gotovo 70 posto građana s biračkim pravom, koje su vodeće oporbene stranke pozvale da zbog izgledne prevare ostanu kod kuće, Maduro je osigurao kontrolu svoje socijalističke partije nad Nacionalnom skupštinom: sa svojim je ljevičarskim saveznicima osvojio 68 posto mandata, a opozicija tek 18 posto.

Time je svojemu konkurentu i predsjedniku parlamenta Juanu Guaidu, kojega većina zapadnih zemalja priznaje kao legitimnog privremenog predsjednika Venezuele, izmaknuo ispod nogu glavnu političku platformu za djelovanje i moguće preuzimanje vlasti....
