U rujnu 2019., tada 16-godišnji Connerjack Oswalt nestao je iz Clearlakea u Kaliforniji. Više od dvije godine njegova obitelj pretraživala je objave o nestaloj djeci iz cijele Amerike, nadajući se nekom znaku da je Oswalt, koji ima autizam, živ. Nisu našli ništa osim lažne nade – piše LA Times.

Nekoliko dana nakon njegova nestanka 2019., obitelj ga je u jednom trenutku "promašila" za samo sat vremena, uočivši Connerjacka na sigurnosnim snimkama jedne benzinske pumpe, ali se trag na kraju ipak izgubio.

Ovog mjeseca, u ranim jutarnjim satima 9. travnja, policajci iz okruga Summit u Utahu, u blizini otmjene četvrti Park City, pozvali su jednog mladića da sjedne u njihov automobil kako bi se sklonio od hladnoće. Sretali su ga i prije po gradu, ali on nije prekršio nijedan zakon, rekli su. Odbio im je reći svoje ime, ali je dopustio da mu skeniraju otiske prstiju. A nakon što su pročešljali baze podataka o nestalima, zaključili su da su identificirali jednog od njih, Connerjacka Oswalta.

Kontaktirali su Oswaltove roditelje, Suzanne i Geralda Flinta, koji sada žive u Idahu, i upitali ih ima li njihov sin kakve osobite oznake. Da, rekla je njegova majka u šerifovom uredu: madež straga na vratu. Provjerili su – imao ga je.

Oswaltov otac i djed odmah su se odvezli u  360 kilometara udaljen okrug Summit. U videu iz policijske postaje, Gerald Flint se vidi kako sjedi za stolom, okružen policajcima, sa Suzanne Flint na spikerfonu. Zamjenik šerifa pokazuje Geraldu fotografije. "Je li to on?" pita Suzanne. Gerald nakrivi glavu i s olakšanjem odahne. “Malo stariji, ali da”, odgovara. "O, moj Bože. Srce moje, živ je!”, rekla je Suzanne, jecajući.

Connerjack, sada 19-godišnjak, još je bio u Utahu ovog tjedna, dok se Gerald Flint vratio kući u Idaho. Obitelj se sada suočava s novim pitanjima i izazovima. "Najvažnije je da se u ovom trenutku skrbimo za njega", rekao je Flint u intervjuu za LA Times.

"Jedan od naših najvećih izazova sada je, budući da je on zakonski punoljetan, osigurati da i dalje možemo paziti na njegovu sigurnost, poštujući njegovu autonomiju. Connerjack je dobrodošao kući, ako se želi vratiti", rekao je Flint, dodajući da bi ga "volio vidjeti sposobnog za samostalni život".

"Bez obzira na to kako izgleda budućnost, želimo ono što je najbolje za njega, kao što bi svaki roditelj trebao", rekao je. Nije jasno što je Connerjack radio u prošle tri godine, a okolnosti njegovog nestanka 2019. još se istražuju. “Sve što je podijelio s nama jest da je bio na svom – životnom putu”, rekao je šerif okruga Summit. “Doista nije ulazio u detalje.”

Osim što se brinula za svog nestalog sina, obitelj je prebrodila i druge krize u vrijeme dok Connerjacka nije bilo. "Bili smo blizu da izgubimo njegovu majku, moju ženu, zbog COVID-a", rekao je Flint. “Imao sam COVID tri puta, dobio sam sepsu i četiri dana sam bio u bolnici zbog nečeg drugog”, rekao je. “Mogao se vratiti, a da ne zatekne jednog ili oba roditelja.”

Unatoč upitnicima koji još uvijek stoje nad Connerjackovom prošlosti, kao i budućnosti, na pitanje spava li bolje znajući sad gdje mu je sin, Flint je jasno odgovorio: "Da."

U rujnu 2019., tada 16-godišnji Connerjack Oswalt nestao je iz Clearlakea u Kaliforniji. Više od dvije godine njegova obitelj pretraživala je objave o nestaloj djeci iz cijele Amerike, nadajući se nekom znaku da je Oswalt, koji ima autizam, živ. Nisu našli ništa osim lažne nade – piše LA Times.

Nekoliko dana nakon njegova nestanka 2019., obitelj ga je u jednom trenutku "promašila" za samo sat vremena, uočivši Connerjacka na sigurnosnim snimkama jedne benzinske pumpe, ali se trag na kraju ipak izgubio.

Ovog mjeseca, u ranim jutarnjim satima 9. travnja, policajci iz okruga Summit u Utahu, u blizini otmjene četvrti Park City, pozvali su jednog mladića da sjedne u njihov automobil kako bi se sklonio od hladnoće. Sretali su ga i prije po gradu, ali on nije prekršio nijedan zakon, rekli su. Odbio im je reći svoje ime, ali je dopustio da mu skeniraju otiske prstiju. A nakon što su pročešljali baze podataka o nestalima, zaključili su da su identificirali jednog od njih, Connerjacka Oswalta.

Kontaktirali su Oswaltove roditelje, Suzanne i Geralda Flinta, koji sada žive u Idahu, i upitali ih ima li njihov sin kakve osobite oznake. Da, rekla je njegova majka u šerifovom uredu: madež straga na vratu. Provjerili su – imao ga je.

Oswaltov otac i djed odmah su se odvezli u  360 kilometara udaljen okrug Summit. U videu iz policijske postaje, Gerald Flint se vidi kako sjedi za stolom, okružen policajcima, sa Suzanne Flint na spikerfonu. Zamjenik šerifa pokazuje Geraldu fotografije. "Je li to on?" pita Suzanne. Gerald nakrivi glavu i s olakšanjem odahne. “Malo stariji, ali da”, odgovara. "O, moj Bože. Srce moje, živ je!”, rekla je Suzanne, jecajući.

Connerjack, sada 19-godišnjak, još je bio u Utahu ovog tjedna, dok se Gerald Flint vratio kući u Idaho. Obitelj se sada suočava s novim pitanjima i izazovima. "Najvažnije je da se u ovom trenutku skrbimo za njega", rekao je Flint u intervjuu za LA Times.

"Jedan od naših najvećih izazova sada je, budući da je on zakonski punoljetan, osigurati da i dalje možemo paziti na njegovu sigurnost, poštujući njegovu autonomiju. "Bez obzira na to kako izgleda budućnost, želimo ono što je najbolje za njega, kao što bi svaki roditelj trebao", rekao je. Nije jasno što je Connerjack radio u prošle tri godine, a okolnosti njegovog nestanka 2019. još se istražuju. “Sve što je podijelio s nama jest da je bio na svom – životnom putu”, rekao je šerif okruga Summit. “Doista nije ulazio u detalje.”

Osim što se brinula za svog nestalog sina, obitelj je prebrodila i druge krize u vrijeme dok Connerjacka nije bilo. "Bili smo blizu da izgubimo njegovu majku, moju ženu, zbog COVID-a", rekao je Flint. “Imao sam COVID tri puta, dobio sam sepsu i četiri dana sam bio u bolnici zbog nečeg drugog”, rekao je. “Mogao se vratiti, a da ne zatekne jednog ili oba roditelja.”

Unatoč upitnicima koji još uvijek stoje nad Connerjackovom prošlosti, kao i budućnosti, na pitanje spava li bolje znajući sad gdje mu je sin, Flint je jasno odgovorio: "Da."

U rujnu 2019., tada 16-godišnji Connerjack Oswalt nestao je iz Clearlakea u Kaliforniji. Više od dvije godine njegova obitelj pretraživala je objave o nestaloj djeci iz cijele Amerike, nadajući se nekom znaku da je Oswalt, koji ima autizam, živ. Nisu našli ništa osim lažne nade – piše LA Times.

Nekoliko dana nakon njegova nestanka 2019., obitelj ga je u jednom trenutku "promašila" za samo sat vremena, uočivši Connerjacka na sigurnosnim snimkama jedne benzinske pumpe, ali se trag na kraju ipak izgubio.

Ovog mjeseca, u ranim jutarnjim satima 9. travnja, policajci iz okruga Summit u Utahu, u blizini otmjene četvrti Park City, pozvali su jednog mladića da sjedne u njihov automobil kako bi se sklonio od hladnoće. Sretali su ga i prije po gradu, ali on nije prekršio nijedan...
