Katolički svećenik podnio je ostavku nakon što je crkvena istraga otkrila da je provodio nevažeća krštenja tijekom većeg dijela svoje 20-godišnje karijere, rekao je biskup Thomas Olmsted iz biskupije Phoenix. Otac Andres Arango, koji je obavio tisuće krštenja, rekao bi: "Krstimo te u ime Oca i Sina i Duha Svetoga." Ali Olmsted je objasnio da je umjesto riječi "krstimo" trebala biti "krstim".

"Problem s korištenjem 'Mi' je da nije zajednica ta koja krsti osobu, nego je Krist, i samo On, koji daruje sve sakramente, pa je Krist Isus taj koji krsti", napisao je Olmsted u poruci župljanima objavljenoj prošlog mjeseca. Pogreška također znači da će, budući da je krštenje prvo od sakramenata, neki ljudi morati ponavljati druge sakramente, navodi se na web stranici biskupije za često postavljana pitanja. 

Arango je od 1. veljače dao ostavku na mjesto župnika župe St. Gregory u Phoenixu. "Tužno je saznati da sam tijekom svoje službe kao svećenik obavljao nevaljana krštenja redovito koristeći netočnu formulu. Duboko žalim zbog svoje pogreške i kako je to utjecalo na brojne ljude u vašoj župi i drugdje", napisao je Arango u poruci na stranici.

Olmsted je rekao da je vatikanska Kongregacija za nauk vjere 2020. godine potvrdila da kada se krštenje dodjeljuje formulom "Krstimo..." nije valjano i da se ljudi moraju ponovno krstiti, prenosi CNN:

Biskupija je priredila web stranicu za sve koji vjeruju da su imali nevažeće krštenje i priopćila da se Arangova krštenja koja su obavljena nakon 17. lipnja 2021. smatraju valjanima. Prema riječima Katie Burke, glasnogovornice biskupije, neka nova krštenja su se već dogodila.

Arango je svoju karijeru započeo u Brazilu 1995. Nastavit će biti svećenik, a svoju energiju i vrijeme posvetit će pomoći onima koji su imali nevažeća krštenja. Olmsted je rekao da ne vjeruje da Andres namjerava nauditi nekom od župljana. "I meni je iskreno žao što je ova pogreška dovela do poremećaja sakramentalnih života brojnih vjernika. Zbog toga se obvezujem poduzeti sve potrebne korake da popravim situaciju za sve pogođene", rekao je Olmsted.

Prema Konferenciji katoličkih biskupa Sjedinjenih Država, u katoličkoj crkvi postoji sedam sakramenata: krštenje, potvrda, euharistija, pomirenje, bolesničko pomazanje, brak i sveti red. „Po sakramentima Bog dijeli svoju svetost s nama kako bismo mi zauzvrat mogli učiniti svijet svetijim“, stoji na svojoj internetskoj stranici konferencije.

Katolički svećenik podnio je ostavku nakon što je crkvena istraga otkrila da je provodio nevažeća krštenja tijekom većeg dijela svoje 20-godišnje karijere, rekao je biskup Thomas Olmsted iz biskupije Phoenix. Otac Andres Arango, koji je obavio tisuće krštenja, rekao bi: "Krstimo te u ime Oca i Sina i Duha Svetoga." Ali Olmsted je objasnio da je umjesto riječi "krstimo" trebala biti "krstim".

"Problem s korištenjem 'Mi' je da nije zajednica ta koja krsti osobu, nego je Krist, i samo On, koji daruje sve sakramente, pa je Krist Isus taj koji krsti", napisao je Olmsted u poruci župljanima objavljenoj prošlog mjeseca. Pogreška također znači da će, budući da je krštenje prvo od sakramenata, neki ljudi morati ponavljati druge sakramente, navodi se na web stranici biskupije za često postavljana pitanja. 

Arango je od 1. veljače dao ostavku na mjesto župnika župe St. Gregory u Phoenixu. "Tužno je saznati da sam tijekom svoje službe kao svećenik obavljao nevaljana krštenja redovito koristeći netočnu formulu. Duboko žalim zbog svoje pogreške i kako je to utjecalo na brojne ljude u vašoj župi i drugdje", napisao je Arango u poruci na stranici.

Olmsted je rekao da je vatikanska Kongregacija za nauk vjere 2020. godine potvrdila da kada se krštenje dodjeljuje formulom "Krstimo..." nije valjano i da se ljudi moraju ponovno krstiti, prenosi CNN:

Biskupija je priredila web stranicu za sve koji vjeruju da su imali nevažeće krštenje i priopćila da se Arangova krštenja koja su obavljena nakon 17. lipnja 2021. smatraju valjanima. Prema riječima Katie Burke, glasnogovornice biskupije, neka nova krštenja su se već dogodila.

Arango je svoju karijeru započeo u Brazilu 1995. Nastavit će biti svećenik, a svoju energiju i vrijeme posvetit će pomoći onima koji su imali nevažeća krštenja. Olmsted je rekao da ne vjeruje da Andres namjerava nauditi nekom od župljana. "I meni je iskreno žao što je ova pogreška dovela do poremećaja sakramentalnih života brojnih vjernika. Zbog toga se obvezujem poduzeti sve potrebne korake da popravim situaciju za sve pogođene", rekao je Olmsted.

Prema Konferenciji katoličkih biskupa Sjedinjenih Država, u katoličkoj crkvi postoji sedam sakramenata: krštenje, potvrda, euharistija, pomirenje, bolesničko pomazanje, brak i sveti red. „Po sakramentima Bog dijeli svoju svetost s nama kako bismo mi zauzvrat mogli učiniti svijet svetijim“, stoji na svojoj internetskoj stranici konferencije.

Skandal u Crkvi: svećenik preko 20 godina krivo izgovarao riječi pri krštenju, sakramenti ne vrijede?! Oštećeni će morati sve ponoviti

Katolički svećenik podnio je ostavku nakon što je crkvena istraga otkrila da je provodio nevažeća krštenja tijekom većeg dijela svoje 20-godišnje karijere, rekao je biskup Thomas Olmsted iz biskupije Phoenix. Otac Andres Arango, koji je obavio tisuće krštenja, rekao bi: "Krstimo te u ime Oca i Sina i Duha Svetoga." Ali Olmsted je objasnio da je umjesto riječi "krstimo" trebala biti "krstim".

"Problem s korištenjem 'Mi' je da nije zajednica ta koja krsti osobu, nego je Krist, i samo On, koji daruje sve sakramente, pa je Krist Isus taj koji krsti", napisao je Olmsted u poruci župljanima objavljenoj prošlog mjeseca. Pogreška također znači da će, budući da je krštenje prvo od sakramenata, neki ljudi morati ponavljati druge sakramente, navodi se na web stranici...
