Većina ljudi koji su preboljeli covid-19 zaštićeni su najmanje šest mjeseci od ponovnog dobivanja zaraze, pokazuje najnovija studija, no stariji ljudi skloniji su dobiti ponovno infekciju nego što su to mlađi.

Istraživanje koje objavljuje ugledni medicinski časopis Lancet utvrdilo je da je samo 0,65 posto ljudi bilo po drugi put pozitivno na testu za covid-19, nakon što su prethodno bili zaraženi tijekom prvog i drugog vala pandemije u Danskoj. To je puno niže od 3,27 posto koliko je bilo pozitivnih na virus nakon upotrebe puno preciznijih PCR testova, nakon što su prethodno bili negativni na brzom testu.

No studija je utvrdila da ljudi stariji od 65 godina imaju samo 47 posto zaštite od ponavljanja infekcije, u usporedbi s 80 posto zaštite kod mlađih ljudi.

"Naša je studija potvrdila što su brojne druge sugerirale: ponovna infekcija covidom-19 rjeđa je kod mlađih, zdravih ljudi, no kod starijih je veći rizik da će ga ponovno dobiti", kazao je Steen Ethelberg s danskog Statens Serum Instituta.

"Kako je vjerojatnije da će stariji imati i ozbiljnije simptome bolesti, i nažalost umrijeti, naši nalazi jasno daju do znanja koliko je važno primjenjivati politike zaštite starijih tijekom pandemije", dodaje se u predstavljanju istraživanja. 

Autori studije nisu pronašli da zaštita od ponovne zaraze pada tijekom šest mjeseci od bolesti, no ističu da je potrebno poduzeti daljnje studije kako bi se utvrdila zaštita protiv ponovne zaraze kod različitih varijanti virusa.

Podaci koji su bili predmet analize prikupljeni su uz pomoć danske nacionalne strategije testiranja, u sklopu koje je 69 posto populacije, ili četiri milijuna ljudi, bilo testirano tijekom 2020.

Komentirajući rezultate profesori londonskog Imperial Collegea Rosemary Boyton i Danny Altmann kazali su da rezultati pokazuju slabiju zaštitu i da "više zabrinjavaju" nego li neka ranije istraživanja.

"Ovi podaci potvrđuju, ako je to uopće i bilo potrebno, da možda nećemo moći ispuniti očekivanja o sticanju zaštitnog imuniteta protiv SARS-CoV-2 putem prirodnih infekcija te da je trajna solucija globalni program cijepljenja s vrlo učinkovitim cjepivima", navode autori u članku povezanom uz ovo istraživanje, također objavljenom u Lancetu.

Većina ljudi koji su preboljeli covid-19 zaštićeni su najmanje šest mjeseci od ponovnog dobivanja zaraze, pokazuje najnovija studija, no stariji ljudi skloniji su dobiti ponovno infekciju nego što su to mlađi.

Istraživanje koje objavljuje ugledni medicinski časopis Lancet utvrdilo je da je samo 0,65 posto ljudi bilo po drugi put pozitivno na testu za covid-19, nakon što su prethodno bili zaraženi tijekom prvog i drugog vala pandemije u Danskoj. To je puno niže od 3,27 posto koliko je bilo pozitivnih na virus nakon upotrebe puno preciznijih PCR testova, nakon što su prethodno bili negativni na brzom testu.

No studija je utvrdila da ljudi stariji od 65 godina imaju samo 47 posto zaštite od ponavljanja infekcije, u usporedbi s 80 posto zaštite kod mlađih ljudi.

"Naša je studija potvrdila što su brojne druge sugerirale: ponovna infekcija covidom-19 rjeđa je kod mlađih, zdravih ljudi, no kod starijih je veći rizik da će ga ponovno dobiti", kazao je Steen Ethelberg s danskog Statens Serum Instituta.

"Kako je vjerojatnije da će stariji imati i ozbiljnije simptome bolesti, i nažalost umrijeti, naši nalazi jasno daju do znanja koliko je važno primjenjivati politike zaštite starijih tijekom pandemije", dodaje se u predstavljanju istraživanja. 

Autori studije nisu pronašli da zaštita od ponovne zaraze pada tijekom šest mjeseci od bolesti, no ističu da je potrebno poduzeti daljnje studije kako bi se utvrdila zaštita protiv ponovne zaraze kod različitih varijanti virusa.

Podaci koji su bili predmet analize prikupljeni su uz pomoć danske nacionalne strategije testiranja, u sklopu koje je 69 posto populacije, ili četiri milijuna ljudi, bilo testirano tijekom 2020.

Komentirajući rezultate profesori londonskog Imperial Collegea Rosemary Boyton i Danny Altmann kazali su da rezultati pokazuju slabiju zaštitu i da "više zabrinjavaju" nego li neka ranije istraživanja.

"Ovi podaci potvrđuju, ako je to uopće i bilo potrebno, da možda nećemo moći ispuniti očekivanja o sticanju zaštitnog imuniteta protiv SARS-CoV-2 putem prirodnih infekcija te da je trajna solucija globalni program cijepljenja s vrlo učinkovitim cjepivima", navode autori u članku povezanom uz ovo istraživanje, također objavljenom u Lancetu.

Većina ljudi koji su preboljeli covid-19 zaštićeni su najmanje šest mjeseci od ponovnog dobivanja zaraze, pokazuje najnovija studija, no stariji ljudi skloniji su dobiti ponovno infekciju nego što su to mlađi.

Istraživanje koje objavljuje ugledni medicinski časopis Lancet utvrdilo je da je samo 0,65 posto ljudi bilo po drugi put pozitivno na testu za covid-19, nakon što su prethodno bili zaraženi tijekom prvog i drugog vala pandemije u Danskoj. To je puno niže od 3,27 posto koliko je bilo pozitivnih na virus nakon upotrebe puno preciznijih PCR testova, nakon što su prethodno bili negativni na brzom testu.

No studija je utvrdila da ljudi stariji od 65 godina imaju samo 47 posto zaštite od ponavljanja infekcije, u usporedbi s 80 posto zaštite kod mlađih ljudi.
