Pobunjeničke snage u sjevernoj etiopskoj regiji Tigraju zauzele su glavni grad te regije Mekele, što su građani proslavili na ulicama, dok su vladini dužnosnici pobjegli, prenosi u utorak BBC.

Građani javljaju o radosnom slavlju s vatrometom i tisućama zastava.

Vlada, koja je zauzela Mekele u studenom nakon što su pobunjenici odbacili političke reforme i zauzeli vojne baze, proglasila je "humanitarni prekid vatre" u regiji.

U borbama su poginule tisuće ljudi, a 350.000 na rubu je gladi.

Raseljeno je više od dva milijuna ljudi.

Pobunjenici su u ponedjeljak neočekivano zauzeli Mekele, što bi mogla biti prekretnica u sukobu. 

Prijelazna vlada odlučila je otići, rekao je mjesni dužnosnik. 

"Od ključne je važnosti da civili budu zaštićeni, da humanitarna pomoć stigne do ljudi kojima je potrebna i da se pronađe političko rješenje", poručio je u priopćenju glavni tajnik UN-a Antonio Guterres, koji je razgovarao s etiopskim premijerom Abijom Ahmedom.

Britanija, SAD i Irska zatražili su hitan sastanak Vijeća sigurnosti UN-a.

Pobunjeničke snage u sjevernoj etiopskoj regiji Tigraju zauzele su glavni grad te regije Mekele, što su građani proslavili na ulicama, dok su vladini dužnosnici pobjegli, prenosi u utorak BBC.

Građani javljaju o radosnom slavlju s vatrometom i tisućama zastava.

Vlada, koja je zauzela Mekele u studenom nakon što su pobunjenici odbacili političke reforme i zauzeli vojne baze, proglasila je "humanitarni prekid vatre" u regiji.

U borbama su poginule tisuće ljudi, a 350.000 na rubu je gladi.

Raseljeno je više od dva milijuna ljudi.

Pobunjenici su u ponedjeljak neočekivano zauzeli Mekele, što bi mogla biti prekretnica u sukobu. 

Prijelazna vlada odlučila je otići, rekao je mjesni dužnosnik. 

"Od ključne je važnosti da civili budu zaštićeni, da humanitarna pomoć stigne do ljudi kojima je potrebna i da se pronađe političko rješenje", poručio je u priopćenju glavni tajnik UN-a Antonio Guterres, koji je razgovarao s etiopskim premijerom Abijom Ahmedom.

Britanija, SAD i Irska zatražili su hitan sastanak Vijeća sigurnosti UN-a.

Pobunjeničke snage u sjevernoj etiopskoj regiji Tigraju zauzele su glavni grad te regije Mekele, što su građani proslavili na ulicama, dok su vladini dužnosnici pobjegli, prenosi u utorak BBC.

Građani javljaju o radosnom slavlju s vatrometom i tisućama zastava.

Vlada, koja je zauzela Mekele u studenom nakon što su pobunjenici odbacili političke reforme i zauzeli vojne baze, proglasila je "humanitarni prekid vatre" u regiji.

U borbama su poginule tisuće ljudi, a 350.000 na rubu je gladi.

Raseljeno je više od dva milijuna ljudi.

Pobunjenici su u ponedjeljak neočekivano zauzeli Mekele, što bi mogla biti prekretnica u sukobu. 

Prijelazna vlada odlučila je otići, rekao je mjesni dužnosnik.
