Predsjednica Europske komisije Ursula von der Leyen i predsjednik Europskog vijeća Charles Michel u ponedjeljak su se sastali prvi put nakon prošlotjednog protokolarnog incidenta u Ankari, tzv. “sofagatea”.

Von der Leyen i Michel redovito održavaju sastanke jednom tjedno. Današnji sastanak izazvao je posebnu pozornost zbog incidenta koji se dogodio u Ankari prošli utorak.

Turski predsjednik Recep Tayyip Erdogan primio je predsjednicu Europske komisije Ursulu von der Leyen i predsjednika Europskog vijeća Charlesa Michela, a na sastanku je Michelu bio namijenjen stolac odmah do Erdogana, dok je von der Leyen morala sjesti na obližnji kauč sa strane, a preko puta nje na drugom kauču bio je turski ministar vanjskih poslova.  

Predsjednik Europskog vijeća Michel uopće nije reagirao. Incident su mediji prozvali “sofagate”. 

Glasnogovornik Komisije je rekao da je riječ o uobičajenom tjednom sastanku predsjednice Komisije i predsjednika Europkog vijeća na kojem su “razgovarali o cijelom nizu aktualnih tema”.

Prema izvorima iz Komisije, Ursula von der Leyen je poručila da neće dopustiti da se slična situacija opet ponovi.

Postoji neslaganje dviju institucija o tome tko prema protokolu predstavlja Europsku uniju u inozemstvu. U Europskom vijeću tvrde da Michel kao predsjednik ima prednost u protokolu, s čime se ne slažu u Europskoj komisiji i kažu da oboje trebaju imati isti tretman.

Prema fotografijama s ranijih susreta na na vrhu između EU-a i Turske vidljivo je da su, primjerice, tadašnji predsjednici Komisije i Europskog vijeća Jean-Claude Juncker i Donald Tusk tretirani potpuno ravnopravno.

Međutim, bivši predsjednik Komisije Juncker tvrdi da je predsjednik Europskog vijeća prema protokolu ima prednost i da se njemu znalo događati da završi na kauču.

Mnogi su zamjerili Michelu što nije odmah reagirao i prepustio svoje mjesto Ursuli von der Leyen. On je proteklih dana u medijima govorio da mu je žao zbog toga što se dogodilo, ali a nije htio reagirati kako ne izazvao još veći incident.

“Od tada ne spavam dobro, te scene mi se neprestano vrte po glavi", izjavio je Michel dodajući da bi popravio situaciju kad bi mogao vratiti vrijeme.  

Zbog tog incidenta, sadržaj i cilj posjeta Ankari pao je posve u drugi plan.

Predsjednica Europske komisije Ursula von der Leyen i predsjednik Europskog vijeća Charles Michel u ponedjeljak su se sastali prvi put nakon prošlotjednog protokolarnog incidenta u Ankari, tzv. “sofagatea”.

Von der Leyen i Michel redovito održavaju sastanke jednom tjedno. Današnji sastanak izazvao je posebnu pozornost zbog incidenta koji se dogodio u Ankari prošli utorak.

Turski predsjednik Recep Tayyip Erdogan primio je predsjednicu Europske komisije Ursulu von der Leyen i predsjednika Europskog vijeća Charlesa Michela, a na sastanku je Michelu bio namijenjen stolac odmah do Erdogana, dok je von der Leyen morala sjesti na obližnji kauč sa strane, a preko puta nje na drugom kauču bio je turski ministar vanjskih poslova.  

Predsjednik Europskog vijeća Michel uopće nije reagirao. Incident su mediji prozvali “sofagate”. 

Glasnogovornik Komisije je rekao da je riječ o uobičajenom tjednom sastanku predsjednice Komisije i predsjednika Europkog vijeća na kojem su “razgovarali o cijelom nizu aktualnih tema”.

Prema izvorima iz Komisije, Ursula von der Leyen je poručila da neće dopustiti da se slična situacija opet ponovi.

Postoji neslaganje dviju institucija o tome tko prema protokolu predstavlja Europsku uniju u inozemstvu. U Europskom vijeću tvrde da Michel kao predsjednik ima prednost u protokolu, s čime se ne slažu u Europskoj komisiji i kažu da oboje trebaju imati isti tretman.

Prema fotografijama s ranijih susreta na na vrhu između EU-a i Turske vidljivo je da su, primjerice, tadašnji predsjednici Komisije i Europskog vijeća Jean-Claude Juncker i Donald Tusk tretirani potpuno ravnopravno.

Međutim, bivši predsjednik Komisije Juncker tvrdi da je predsjednik Europskog vijeća prema protokolu ima prednost i da se njemu znalo događati da završi na kauču.

Mnogi su zamjerili Michelu što nije odmah reagirao i prepustio svoje mjesto Ursuli von der Leyen. On je proteklih dana u medijima govorio da mu je žao zbog toga što se dogodilo, ali a nije htio reagirati kako ne izazvao još veći incident.

“Od tada ne spavam dobro, te scene mi se neprestano vrte po glavi", izjavio je Michel dodajući da bi popravio situaciju kad bi mogao vratiti vrijeme.  

Zbog tog incidenta, sadržaj i cilj posjeta Ankari pao je posve u drugi plan.
