Francuski liječnici opisali su prvi potvrđeni slučaj novorođenčeta zaraženog covidom-19 tijekom trudnoće.

Muško novorođenče, rođeno u ožujku, imalo je oteklinu mozga i neurološke simptome povezane s covidom-19 kod odraslih osoba, no u međuvremenu se oporavilo, objavili su u časopisu Nature Communications.

Ranija istraživanja ukazivala su na mogućnost prijenosa virusa s majke na fetus no studija pruža prve dokaze, kaže glavni autor rada Daniele De Luca, liječnik iz bolnice  Antoine Beclere pokraj Pariza.

"Pokazali smo da je prijenos  kroz posteljicu s majke na fetus moguć tijekom zadnjih tjedana trudnoće", kazao je.

Prošlog tjedna talijanski znanstvenici objavili su da je njihovo istraživanje 31 trudnice hospitalizirane zbog covida-19 "snažno sugeriralo" da se virus može prenijeti na nerođeno dijete.

Studija objavljena u medicinskom časopisu JAMA u ožujku koja je izvijestila o sličnom broju trudnica s covidom-19 došla je do istih zaključaka.

No dokazi nisu bili čvrsti.

"Morate analizirati krv majke, plodnu vodu, krv novorođenčeta, posteljicu...", kazao je De Luca. "Prikupljanje svih tih uzoraka tijekom pandemije nije jednostavno. Zbog toga se sumnjalo, ali nije bilo dokazano".

De Luca i njegov tim prikupili su sve to u slučaju trudnice u 20-im godinama života koja je hospitalizirana početkom ožujka.
Zbog toga što je rodila carskim rezom liječnici su mogli prikupiti sve uzorke bez kontaminacije.

Najviša koncentracija virusa SARS-CoV-2 bila je u posteljici, otkrili su znanstvenici.

"Od tamo je prošao pupčanom vrpcom do bebe gdje se razmnožio", kazao je De Luca. "To je put prijenosa".

Beba je razvila teške simptome 24 sata nakon poroda uključujući tešku ukočenost tijela, oštećenja bijele tvari u mozgu i iznimnu nadražljivost.

Prije nego što su se liječnici usuglasili oko moguće terapije simptomi su se počeli povlačiti i nakon tri tjedna beba se u potpunosti oporavila.

Tri mjeseca kasnije ni majka više nije imala simptome.

"Loša je vijest da se to dogodilo i da se može dogoditi", kaže De Luca. "Dobra je vijest da je to rijetko - vrlo rijetko u odnosu na globalnu populaciju".

Među tisućama beba koje su rodile trudnice oboljele od covida-19 tek jedan ili dva posto bilo je pozitivno na virus a čak i manje imalo je teže simptome, kaže Marian Knight sa sveučilišta Oxford koja podsjeća da je najvažnije da se trudnice drže propisanih mjera za ograničavanje širenja virusa.

Francuski liječnici opisali su prvi potvrđeni slučaj novorođenčeta zaraženog covidom-19 tijekom trudnoće.

Muško novorođenče, rođeno u ožujku, imalo je oteklinu mozga i neurološke simptome povezane s covidom-19 kod odraslih osoba, no u međuvremenu se oporavilo, objavili su u časopisu Nature Communications.

Ranija istraživanja ukazivala su na mogućnost prijenosa virusa s majke na fetus no studija pruža prve dokaze, kaže glavni autor rada Daniele De Luca, liječnik iz bolnice  Antoine Beclere pokraj Pariza.

"Pokazali smo da je prijenos  kroz posteljicu s majke na fetus moguć tijekom zadnjih tjedana trudnoće", kazao je.

Prošlog tjedna talijanski znanstvenici objavili su da je njihovo istraživanje 31 trudnice hospitalizirane zbog covida-19 "snažno sugeriralo" da se virus može prenijeti na nerođeno dijete.

Studija objavljena u medicinskom časopisu JAMA u ožujku koja je izvijestila o sličnom broju trudnica s covidom-19 došla je do istih zaključaka.

No dokazi nisu bili čvrsti.

"Morate analizirati krv majke, plodnu vodu, krv novorođenčeta, posteljicu...", kazao je De Luca. "Prikupljanje svih tih uzoraka tijekom pandemije nije jednostavno. Zbog toga se sumnjalo, ali nije bilo dokazano".

De Luca i njegov tim prikupili su sve to u slučaju trudnice u 20-im godinama života koja je hospitalizirana početkom ožujka.
Zbog toga što je rodila carskim rezom liječnici su mogli prikupiti sve uzorke bez kontaminacije.

Najviša koncentracija virusa SARS-CoV-2 bila je u posteljici, otkrili su znanstvenici.

"Od tamo je prošao pupčanom vrpcom do bebe gdje se razmnožio", kazao je De Luca. "To je put prijenosa".

Beba je razvila teške simptome 24 sata nakon poroda uključujući tešku ukočenost tijela, oštećenja bijele tvari u mozgu i iznimnu nadražljivost.

Prije nego što su se liječnici usuglasili oko moguće terapije simptomi su se počeli povlačiti i nakon tri tjedna beba se u potpunosti oporavila.

Tri mjeseca kasnije ni majka više nije imala simptome.

"Loša je vijest da se to dogodilo i da se može dogoditi", kaže De Luca. "Dobra je vijest da je to rijetko - vrlo rijetko u odnosu na globalnu populaciju".

Među tisućama beba koje su rodile trudnice oboljele od covida-19 tek jedan ili dva posto bilo je pozitivno na virus a čak i manje imalo je teže simptome, kaže Marian Knight sa sveučilišta Oxford koja podsjeća da je najvažnije da se trudnice drže propisanih mjera za ograničavanje širenja virusa.

Francuski liječnici opisali su prvi potvrđeni slučaj novorođenčeta zaraženog covidom-19 tijekom trudnoće.

Muško novorođenče, rođeno u ožujku, imalo je oteklinu mozga i neurološke simptome povezane s covidom-19 kod odraslih osoba, no u međuvremenu se oporavilo, objavili su u časopisu Nature Communications.

Ranija istraživanja ukazivala su na mogućnost prijenosa virusa s majke na fetus no studija pruža prve dokaze, kaže glavni autor rada Daniele De Luca, liječnik iz bolnice  Antoine Beclere pokraj Pariza.

"Pokazali smo da je prijenos  kroz posteljicu s majke na fetus moguć tijekom zadnjih tjedana trudnoće", kazao je.

Prošlog tjedna talijanski znanstvenici objavili su da je njihovo istraživanje 31 trudnice hospitalizirane zbog covida-19 "snažno sugeriralo" da se...
