Najmanje 46 ljudi je poginulo, a 60 je ozlijeđeno u pobuni koja je izbila u zatvoru u Venezueli, priopćile su nevladina udruga za prava zatvorenika i oporbena zastupnica.

Beatriz Giron, direktorica Venezuelskog zatvorskog opservatorija, rekla je da je identificirano 46 tijela nakon incidenta u petak u zatvoru u Los Llanosu na zapadu zemlje. Zatvori u toj južnoameričkoj zemlji na lošem su glasu zbog ekstremnog nasilja i očajnih uvjeta.

Ministrica za zatvorski sustav Iris Varela rekla je lokalnim novinama Ultimas Noticias da se incident dogodio prilikom pokušaja bijega zatvorenika te da je upravitlej zatvora ranjen. Ona nije navela broj mrtvih.

Maria Beatriz Martinez, oporbena zastupnica iz venezuelske savezne države Portuguesae u kojoj se nalazi taj zatvor, izjavila je da je do pobune došlo nakon što je obiteljima zatvorenika zabranjeno da im donose hranu, što je inače uobičajeno u venezuelskim zatvorima, a ograničeni su i posjeti zbog pandemije koronavirusa.

Upravo zahvaljujući tim posjetima oni su uglavnom dobivali hranu i lijekove. Opservatorij navodi da je lani iza rešetaka umrlo 97 zatvorenika, od kojih 70 posto od bolesti kao što je tuberkuloza, zbog nestašice lijekova i liječničke pomoći.

Venezuelske vlasti tvrde da u zatvorima u toj zemlji nema nijednog slučaja zaraze koronavirusom.

Ograničenja posjeta uvedena su u sklopu mjera za suzbijanje širenja covida-19 u prenapučenim zatvorima.

Takva ograničenja izazvala su pobune u zatvorima u nekoliko zemalja, uključujući Italiju. U Argentini su se zatvorenici pobunili prošli mjesec i zatražili oslobađanje dijela zatvorenika zbog straha od zaraze.

Najmanje 46 ljudi je poginulo, a 60 je ozlijeđeno u pobuni koja je izbila u zatvoru u Venezueli, priopćile su nevladina udruga za prava zatvorenika i oporbena zastupnica.

Beatriz Giron, direktorica Venezuelskog zatvorskog opservatorija, rekla je da je identificirano 46 tijela nakon incidenta u petak u zatvoru u Los Llanosu na zapadu zemlje. Zatvori u toj južnoameričkoj zemlji na lošem su glasu zbog ekstremnog nasilja i očajnih uvjeta.

Ministrica za zatvorski sustav Iris Varela rekla je lokalnim novinama Ultimas Noticias da se incident dogodio prilikom pokušaja bijega zatvorenika te da je upravitlej zatvora ranjen. Ona nije navela broj mrtvih.

Maria Beatriz Martinez, oporbena zastupnica iz venezuelske savezne države Portuguesae u kojoj se nalazi taj zatvor, izjavila je da je do pobune došlo nakon što je obiteljima zatvorenika zabranjeno da im donose hranu, što je inače uobičajeno u venezuelskim zatvorima, a ograničeni su i posjeti zbog pandemije koronavirusa.

Upravo zahvaljujući tim posjetima oni su uglavnom dobivali hranu i lijekove. Opservatorij navodi da je lani iza rešetaka umrlo 97 zatvorenika, od kojih 70 posto od bolesti kao što je tuberkuloza, zbog nestašice lijekova i liječničke pomoći.

Venezuelske vlasti tvrde da u zatvorima u toj zemlji nema nijednog slučaja zaraze koronavirusom.

Ograničenja posjeta uvedena su u sklopu mjera za suzbijanje širenja covida-19 u prenapučenim zatvorima.

Takva ograničenja izazvala su pobune u zatvorima u nekoliko zemalja, uključujući Italiju. U Argentini su se zatvorenici pobunili prošli mjesec i zatražili oslobađanje dijela zatvorenika zbog straha od zaraze.
