Mjanmarska vladajuća vojna hunta oslobodila je na stotine političkih zatvorenika iz zloglasnog zatvora Insein nedaleko Yangona, među kojima i glasnogovornika stranke Aung San Suu Kyi te slavnoga komičara Zarganara, izvijestili su lokalni mediji.

Nekoliko minuta nakon govora čelnika mjanmarske hunte Min Aung Hlainga u ponedjeljak, državna televizija objavila je da će više od 5.600 ljudi uhićenih ili traženih zbog sudjelovanja u prosvjedima protiv vojnog puča biti amnestirano i oslobođeno iz humanitarnih razloga.

Tu odluku neki su aktivisti proglasili trikom vladajuće hunte u pokušaju obnove svog međunarodnog ugleda nakon što je ASEAN najavio da prvom čovjeku mjanmarske hunte neće biti dopušteno sudjelovanje na samitu krajem listopada.

Odluku je na Twitteru pozdravio UN-ov specijalni izvjestitelj za stanje ljudskih prava u Mjanmaru Tom Andrews, koji je napisao kako "hunta političke zatvorenike ne oslobađa zbog promjene mišljenja, već zbog pritiska".

Od državnog udara u veljači, hunta je nekoliko puta oslobađala zatvorenike.

ASEAN je odlučio da se na samit, koji se održava od 26. do 28. listopada, iz Mjanmara pozove "apolitičnog predstavnika", zadavši neočekivani udarac vojnim vođama puča kojim je svrgnuta izabrana vlada Aung San Suu Kyi.

"Došli su danas i rekli mi da će me odvesti kući, to je sve", rekao je u ponedjeljak kasno navečer, na putu kući iz zatvora, Monywa Aung Shin, glasnogovornik stranke Nacionalna liga za demokraciju (NLD) Aung San Suu Kyi. On je uhićen 1. veljače te je proveo osam mjeseci u zatvoru.

Fotografije i video snimke objavljene na društvenim mrežama prikazuju susret oslobođenih zatvorenika s uplakanim članovima obitelji. Drugi prizori prikazuju niz autobusa kako napuštaju bočni ulaz u zatvor, s putnicima koji se naginju kroz prozore i mašu okupljenoj gomili.

Glasnogovornici mjanmarskog zatvora i vojne hunte nisu odmah bili dostupni za komentar.

Politički zatvorenici, uključujući parlamentarce i novinare, oslobođeni su u ponedjeljak i u gradovima Mandalay, Lashio, Meiktila i Myeik.

Lokalni mediji izvijestili su, međutim, da je 11 od 38 osoba puštenih iz zatvora u Meiktili u središnjem Mjanmaru naknadno ponovno uhićeno.

Reuters nije uspio nezavisno potvrditi tu informaciju.

Državni udar je 1. veljače okončao desetogodišnje demokratsko razdoblje u Mjanmaru. U krvavoj vojnoj represiji ubijeno je više od 1.100 civila, a više od 9.000 ljudi je uhićeno, uključujući Suu Kyi, podaci su lokalne nevladine organizacije - Udruge za pomoć političkim zatvorenicima (AAPP).

Mjanmarska vladajuća vojna hunta oslobodila je na stotine političkih zatvorenika iz zloglasnog zatvora Insein nedaleko Yangona, među kojima i glasnogovornika stranke Aung San Suu Kyi te slavnoga komičara Zarganara, izvijestili su lokalni mediji.

Nekoliko minuta nakon govora čelnika mjanmarske hunte Min Aung Hlainga u ponedjeljak, državna televizija objavila je da će više od 5.600 ljudi uhićenih ili traženih zbog sudjelovanja u prosvjedima protiv vojnog puča biti amnestirano i oslobođeno iz humanitarnih razloga.

Tu odluku neki su aktivisti proglasili trikom vladajuće hunte u pokušaju obnove svog međunarodnog ugleda nakon što je ASEAN najavio da prvom čovjeku mjanmarske hunte neće biti dopušteno sudjelovanje na samitu krajem listopada.

Odluku je na Twitteru pozdravio UN-ov specijalni izvjestitelj za stanje ljudskih prava u Mjanmaru Tom Andrews, koji je napisao kako "hunta političke zatvorenike ne oslobađa zbog promjene mišljenja, već zbog pritiska".

Od državnog udara u veljači, hunta je nekoliko puta oslobađala zatvorenike.

ASEAN je odlučio da se na samit, koji se održava od 26. do 28. listopada, iz Mjanmara pozove "apolitičnog predstavnika", zadavši neočekivani udarac vojnim vođama puča kojim je svrgnuta izabrana vlada Aung San Suu Kyi.

"Došli su danas i rekli mi da će me odvesti kući, to je sve", rekao je u ponedjeljak kasno navečer, na putu kući iz zatvora, Monywa Aung Shin, glasnogovornik stranke Nacionalna liga za demokraciju (NLD) Aung San Suu Kyi. On je uhićen 1. veljače te je proveo osam mjeseci u zatvoru.

Fotografije i video snimke objavljene na društvenim mrežama prikazuju susret oslobođenih zatvorenika s uplakanim članovima obitelji. Drugi prizori prikazuju niz autobusa kako napuštaju bočni ulaz u zatvor, s putnicima koji se naginju kroz prozore i mašu okupljenoj gomili.

Glasnogovornici mjanmarskog zatvora i vojne hunte nisu odmah bili dostupni za komentar.

Politički zatvorenici, uključujući parlamentarce i novinare, oslobođeni su u ponedjeljak i u gradovima Mandalay, Lashio, Meiktila i Myeik.

Lokalni mediji izvijestili su, međutim, da je 11 od 38 osoba puštenih iz zatvora u Meiktili u središnjem Mjanmaru naknadno ponovno uhićeno.

Reuters nije uspio nezavisno potvrditi tu informaciju.

Državni udar je 1. veljače okončao desetogodišnje demokratsko razdoblje u Mjanmaru. U krvavoj vojnoj represiji ubijeno je više od 1.100 civila, a više od 9.000 ljudi je uhićeno, uključujući Suu Kyi, podaci su lokalne nevladine organizacije - Udruge za pomoć političkim zatvorenicima (AAPP).

Mjanmarska vladajuća vojna hunta oslobodila je na stotine političkih zatvorenika iz zloglasnog zatvora Insein nedaleko Yangona, među kojima i glasnogovornika stranke Aung San Suu Kyi te slavnoga komičara Zarganara, izvijestili su lokalni mediji.

Nekoliko minuta nakon govora čelnika mjanmarske hunte Min Aung Hlainga u ponedjeljak, državna televizija objavila je da će više od 5.600 ljudi uhićenih ili traženih zbog sudjelovanja u prosvjedima protiv vojnog puča biti amnestirano i oslobođeno iz humanitarnih razloga.

Tu odluku neki su aktivisti proglasili trikom vladajuće hunte u pokušaju obnove svog međunarodnog ugleda nakon što je ASEAN najavio da prvom čovjeku mjanmarske hunte neće biti dopušteno sudjelovanje na samitu krajem listopada.
