Emily Murphy, šefica ključne savezne agencije SAD-a koja mora odobriti predsjedničku tranziciju nakon američkih izbora i priznati Joea Bidena za pobjednika, poslala je u ponedjeljak pismo adresirano na Bidena kojim ga je izvijestila da tranzicija s administracije Donalda Trumpa na novu državnu upravu može početi.

Time je Biden de facto i službeno proglašen izabranim američkim predsjednikom (de iure će to učiniti elektorski kolegij 14. prosinca), a ovaj potez omogućit će mu priljev financijskih sredstava potrebnih za kompliciran postupak prijenosa vlasti.

- Ozbiljno shvaćam ovu ulogu i, zbog najnovijih događanja koja uključuju pravne izazove i potvrde izbornih rezultata, šaljem danas ovo pismo kako bih omogućila da Vam sredstva i službe budu dostupne. (...) Suprotno medijskim izvješćima i insinuacijama, moja odluka nije donesena iz straha ili favoriziranja, napisala je Murphy Bidenu.

Pismo Emily Murphy, koje je stiglo i na adresu Bijele kuće, objavio je CNN nekoliko sati nakon što je glasnogovornica njezine agencije, koja nosi naziv Uprava za opće poslove (GSA), najavila da će o ovom pitanju razgovarati s predsjednicom Zastupničkog doma Kongresa i republikanskim zastupnicima u četiri odbora Zastupničkog doma 30. studenoga na zahtjev demokrata.

Okolnosti su se u međuvremenu promijenile s obzirom da je izborno povjerenstvo države Michigan, unatoč nekim najavama da to neće još učiniti, potvrdilo rezultate izbora prema kojima je u toj državi pobijedio Biden. Formalna potvrda rezultata upriličena je na sastanku koji se odvijao virtualno. Povjerenstvo je tako potvrdilo rezultate utrke u kojima je Biden tijesno pobijedio Trumpa.

S ovom potvrdom još manje je vjerojatno da će Trumpovi napori da ospori Bidenovu pobjedu tvrdeći da je u mnogim državama bilo neregularnosti i izborne prijevare, za što nije ponudio relevantne dokaze, uroditi plodom.

Formalno priznavanje rezultata američkih izbora od strane GSA ključno je za prijenos vlasti s Trumpove administracije na Bidenov tim, što se smatra bitnim za nacionalnu sigurnost, odgovor na covid-19 i za druga ključna područja.

Biden bi trebao preuzeti dužnost 20. siječnja.

Donald Trump se nekoliko trenutaka nakon objave iz GSA oglasio na Twitteru s tvrdnjom da je zapravo on inicirao proces tranzicije.

- Htio bih zahvatiti Emily Murphy na njezinoj posvećenosti i odanosti našoj domovini. Napadali su je, prijetili joj i zlostavljali je, a to nipošto ne bih poželio ni njoj ni njezinoj obitelji ni zaposlenicima GSA. Mi s našom borbom nastavljamo i vjerujemo da ćemo u konačnici prevagnuti, napisao je Trump najavljujući nastavak pravne bitke, ali uz sljedeći dodatak:

- Ipak, u najboljem interesu naše domovine, preporučujem Emily i njezinom timu da učine sve što je potrebno u pogledu inicijalnih protokola, a isto sam naredio i svom timu, napisao je Trump najavljujući kooperativnost u procesu prijenosa vlasti.

Na nacionalnoj razini, Joe Biden je na izborima dobio skoro 80 milijuna glasova, dok je aktualni republikanski predsjednik Trump osvojio 74 milijuna biračkih glasova.

Također, Biden je osvojio 306 elektora, u odnosu na 232 elektorska glasa koja su pripala Trumpu.

Trump, međutim, i dalje poziva republikansku stranku da se "bori" i ne dopusti demokratima da "unište dokaze" o izbornoj prevari. Međutim, od njega se polako udaljavaju čak i njegovi republikanci i pozivaju na početak postupka tranzicije.

Emily Murphy, šefica ključne savezne agencije SAD-a koja mora odobriti predsjedničku tranziciju nakon američkih izbora i priznati Joea Bidena za pobjednika, poslala je u ponedjeljak pismo adresirano na Bidena kojim ga je izvijestila da tranzicija s administracije Donalda Trumpa na novu državnu upravu može početi.

Time je Biden de facto i službeno proglašen izabranim američkim predsjednikom (de iure će to učiniti elektorski kolegij 14. prosinca), a ovaj potez omogućit će mu priljev financijskih sredstava potrebnih za kompliciran postupak prijenosa vlasti.

- Ozbiljno shvaćam ovu ulogu i, zbog najnovijih događanja koja uključuju pravne izazove i potvrde izbornih rezultata, šaljem danas ovo pismo kako bih omogućila da Vam sredstva i službe budu dostupne. (...) Suprotno medijskim izvješćima i insinuacijama, moja odluka nije donesena iz straha ili favoriziranja, napisala je Murphy Bidenu.

Pismo Emily Murphy, koje je stiglo i na adresu Bijele kuće, objavio je CNN nekoliko sati nakon što je glasnogovornica njezine agencije, koja nosi naziv Uprava za opće poslove (GSA), najavila da će o ovom pitanju razgovarati s predsjednicom Zastupničkog doma Kongresa i republikanskim zastupnicima u četiri odbora Zastupničkog doma 30. studenoga na zahtjev demokrata.

Okolnosti su se u međuvremenu promijenile s obzirom da je izborno povjerenstvo države Michigan, unatoč nekim najavama da to neće još učiniti, potvrdilo rezultate izbora prema kojima je u toj državi pobijedio Biden. Formalna potvrda rezultata upriličena je na sastanku koji se odvijao virtualno. Povjerenstvo je tako potvrdilo rezultate utrke u kojima je Biden tijesno pobijedio Trumpa.

S ovom potvrdom još manje je vjerojatno da će Trumpovi napori da ospori Bidenovu pobjedu tvrdeći da je u mnogim državama bilo neregularnosti i izborne prijevare, za što nije ponudio relevantne dokaze, uroditi plodom.

Formalno priznavanje rezultata američkih izbora od strane GSA ključno je za prijenos vlasti s Trumpove administracije na Bidenov tim, što se smatra bitnim za nacionalnu sigurnost, odgovor na covid-19 i za druga ključna područja.

Biden bi trebao preuzeti dužnost 20. siječnja.

Donald Trump se nekoliko trenutaka nakon objave iz GSA oglasio na Twitteru s tvrdnjom da je zapravo on inicirao proces tranzicije.

- Htio bih zahvatiti Emily Murphy na njezinoj posvećenosti i odanosti našoj domovini. Napadali su je, prijetili joj i zlostavljali je, a to nipošto ne bih poželio ni njoj ni njezinoj obitelji ni zaposlenicima GSA. Mi s našom borbom nastavljamo i vjerujemo da ćemo u konačnici prevagnuti, napisao je Trump najavljujući nastavak pravne bitke, ali uz sljedeći dodatak:

- Ipak, u najboljem interesu naše domovine, preporučujem Emily i njezinom timu da učine sve što je potrebno u pogledu inicijalnih protokola, a isto sam naredio i svom timu, napisao je Trump najavljujući kooperativnost u procesu prijenosa vlasti.

Na nacionalnoj razini, Joe Biden je na izborima dobio skoro 80 milijuna glasova, dok je aktualni republikanski predsjednik Trump osvojio 74 milijuna biračkih glasova.

Također, Biden je osvojio 306 elektora, u odnosu na 232 elektorska glasa koja su pripala Trumpu.

Trump, međutim, i dalje poziva republikansku stranku da se "bori" i ne dopusti demokratima da "unište dokaze" o izbornoj prevari. Međutim, od njega se polako udaljavaju čak i njegovi republikanci i pozivaju na početak postupka tranzicije.

Emily Murphy, šefica ključne savezne agencije SAD-a koja mora odobriti predsjedničku tranziciju nakon američkih izbora i priznati Joea Bidena za pobjednika, poslala je u ponedjeljak pismo adresirano na Bidena kojim ga je izvijestila da tranzicija s administracije Donalda Trumpa na novu državnu upravu može početi.

Time je Biden de facto i službeno proglašen izabranim američkim predsjednikom (de iure će to učiniti elektorski kolegij 14. prosinca), a ovaj potez omogućit će mu priljev financijskih sredstava potrebnih za kompliciran postupak prijenosa vlasti.

- Ozbiljno shvaćam ovu ulogu i, zbog najnovijih događanja koja uključuju pravne izazove i potvrde izbornih rezultata, šaljem danas ovo pismo kako bih omogućila da Vam sredstva i službe budu dostupne. (...) Suprotno...
