Kina i Saudijska Arabija u skupini su zemalja koje nastoje spriječiti da UN-ov sporazum o klimi u Škotskoj uključi formulacije koje se protive subvencioniranju fosilnih goriva, navode dva izvora bliska pregovorima, prenosi Reuters.

Pitanje subvencija za naftu, plin i ugljen postalo je glavna prepreka na konferenciji o klimi COP26, koja se produžila na subotu kako bi pregovarači postigli sporazum koji ima za cilj ograničiti globalno zatopljenje na 1,5 stupnjeva Celzija.

Postojeći nacrti sporazuma o kojima se pregovaralo u posljednja dva tjedna zahtijevali bi od vlada da povuku javnu financijsku potporu za fosilna goriva, za koja znanstvenici kažu da su glavni pokretači klimatskih promjena uzrokovanih ljudskim djelovanjem.

Posebni američki izaslanik za klimu John Kerry rekao je na konferenciji u petak kako pokušaj obuzdavanja globalnog zatopljenja dok vlade troše stotine milijardi dolara na potpore za goriva koja to uzrokuju, predstavlja "definiciju ludila".

Druge zapadne zemlje, uključujući članice Europske unije i Britaniju, također se zalažu da se zadrži poziv o ukidanju subvencija za fosilna goriva.

Dva izvora, koja su zamolila da ne budu imenovana jer nisu ovlašteni javno govoriti o pregovorima, rekla su da Kina i Saudijska Arabija nastoje da se ta formulacija ukloni.

Napori da se stupi u kontakt sa saudijskom i kineskom delegacijom u petak navečer bili su neuspješni, navodi Reuters.

Kina, najveći svjetski emiter stakleničkih plinova, značajan je proizvođač nafte i ugljena.

Ranije ovog tjedna, Kina je na konferenciji u Glasgowu objavila zajednički klimatski dogovor sa Sjedinjenim Državama kako bi povećala svoje ambicije u borbi protiv klimatskih promjena, uključujući ubrzanje postupnog ukidanja ugljena u ovom desetljeću i suzbijanje emisija metana.

Saudijska Arabija je glavni proizvođač sirove nafte i zapravo je vođa Organizacije zemalja izvoznica nafte (OPEC).

Saudijski ministar energetike princ Abdulaziz bin Salman Al-Saud rekao je na konferenciji ranije ovog tjedna kako sporazum o borbi protiv klimatskih promjena ne bi trebao biti usmjeren niti na jedan određeni izvor energije, tvrdeći da se emisije mogu smanjiti na druge načine.

Kina i Saudijska Arabija u skupini su zemalja koje nastoje spriječiti da UN-ov sporazum o klimi u Škotskoj uključi formulacije koje se protive subvencioniranju fosilnih goriva, navode dva izvora bliska pregovorima, prenosi Reuters.

Pitanje subvencija za naftu, plin i ugljen postalo je glavna prepreka na konferenciji o klimi COP26, koja se produžila na subotu kako bi pregovarači postigli sporazum koji ima za cilj ograničiti globalno zatopljenje na 1,5 stupnjeva Celzija.

Postojeći nacrti sporazuma o kojima se pregovaralo u posljednja dva tjedna zahtijevali bi od vlada da povuku javnu financijsku potporu za fosilna goriva, za koja znanstvenici kažu da su glavni pokretači klimatskih promjena uzrokovanih ljudskim djelovanjem.

Posebni američki izaslanik za klimu John Kerry rekao je na konferenciji u petak kako pokušaj obuzdavanja globalnog zatopljenja dok vlade troše stotine milijardi dolara na potpore za goriva koja to uzrokuju, predstavlja "definiciju ludila".

Druge zapadne zemlje, uključujući članice Europske unije i Britaniju, također se zalažu da se zadrži poziv o ukidanju subvencija za fosilna goriva.

Dva izvora, koja su zamolila da ne budu imenovana jer nisu ovlašteni javno govoriti o pregovorima, rekla su da Kina i Saudijska Arabija nastoje da se ta formulacija ukloni.

Napori da se stupi u kontakt sa saudijskom i kineskom delegacijom u petak navečer bili su neuspješni, navodi Reuters.

Kina, najveći svjetski emiter stakleničkih plinova, značajan je proizvođač nafte i ugljena.

Ranije ovog tjedna, Kina je na konferenciji u Glasgowu objavila zajednički klimatski dogovor sa Sjedinjenim Državama kako bi povećala svoje ambicije u borbi protiv klimatskih promjena, uključujući ubrzanje postupnog ukidanja ugljena u ovom desetljeću i suzbijanje emisija metana.

Saudijska Arabija je glavni proizvođač sirove nafte i zapravo je vođa Organizacije zemalja izvoznica nafte (OPEC).

Saudijski ministar energetike princ Abdulaziz bin Salman Al-Saud rekao je na konferenciji ranije ovog tjedna kako sporazum o borbi protiv klimatskih promjena ne bi trebao biti usmjeren niti na jedan određeni izvor energije, tvrdeći da se emisije mogu smanjiti na druge načine.

Kina i Saudijska Arabija u skupini su zemalja koje nastoje spriječiti da UN-ov sporazum o klimi u Škotskoj uključi formulacije koje se protive subvencioniranju fosilnih goriva, navode dva izvora bliska pregovorima, prenosi Reuters.

Pitanje subvencija za naftu, plin i ugljen postalo je glavna prepreka na konferenciji o klimi COP26, koja se produžila na subotu kako bi pregovarači postigli sporazum koji ima za cilj ograničiti globalno zatopljenje na 1,5 stupnjeva Celzija.

Postojeći nacrti sporazuma o kojima se pregovaralo u posljednja dva tjedna zahtijevali bi od vlada da povuku javnu financijsku potporu za fosilna goriva, za koja znanstvenici kažu da su glavni pokretači klimatskih promjena uzrokovanih ljudskim djelovanjem.
