Suživot s divljim životinjama rijetko teče potpuno glatko, no ono što se upravo događa u Youngstownu u američkom Ohiu do sada je nezapamćeno. Kako javlja Washington Post, stanovništvo je isprepadano neobičnom ponašanjem rakuna, koje je u lokalnim medijima prozvano 'invazijom zombi-rakuna'.

Prema onome što je više uznemirenih građana prijavilo policiji, ta inače noćna stvorenja počela su se pojavljivati po danu i pri tome izvode potpuno bizarne 'predstave': stoje na dvije noge, pokazuju zube i potom padaju na leđa u, naizgled, komatozno stanje.

Fotograf Robert Coggeshall ispričao je za Washington Post kako se na dvorištu iza kuće igrao sa svojim psom kad mu je prišao jedan rakun. Čovjek je psa odmah uveo u kuću, jer mu se, kako je ispričao novinarima, učinilo da sa rakunom nešto nije u redu. Rakun je potom prišao staklenim vratima iza kojih je stajao Robertov ljubimac i zabuljio se u njega. 

Coggeshall je izašao na dvorište u namjeri da ga potjera, a onda su stvari postale jako čudne.

 - Stajao je na dvije noge, takvo što kod rakuna nikad prije nisam vidio. Onda je iskesio zube prema meni, a slina mu je kapala iz usta, nakon čega se prevalio na leđa i ostao tako ležati kao da je u komi -  ispričao je Coggeshall koji je životinju uspio fotografirati.



Rakun je nakon nekog vremena došao k svijesti pa sve skupa ponovio još par puta prije nego su pristigli djelatnici nadležne službe. Prrijavljeno je još nekoliko slučaja na širem gradskom području,a ulovljeno je 15 rakuna. Svi su eutanazirani, a lokalne vlasti objavile su kako su rakuni vjerojatno bili zaraženi virusom štenećaka, koji uzrokuje kašalj, tremor, napadaje i gubitak straha od ljudi.

Štenećakom se mogu zaraziti i psi pa su svi vlasnici pasa pozvani da cijepe svoje ljubimce.

Policija je pozvala stanovnike da prijave sve slučajeve rakuna koji se neobično ponašaju.

Suživot s divljim životinjama rijetko teče potpuno glatko, no ono što se upravo događa u Youngstownu u američkom Ohiu do sada je nezapamćeno. Kako javlja Washington Post, stanovništvo je isprepadano neobičnom ponašanjem rakuna, koje je u lokalnim medijima prozvano 'invazijom zombi-rakuna'.

Prema onome što je više uznemirenih građana prijavilo policiji, ta inače noćna stvorenja počela su se pojavljivati po danu i pri tome izvode potpuno bizarne 'predstave': stoje na dvije noge, pokazuju zube i potom padaju na leđa u, naizgled, komatozno stanje.

Fotograf Robert Coggeshall ispričao je za Washington Post kako se na dvorištu iza kuće igrao sa svojim psom kad mu je prišao jedan rakun. Čovjek je psa odmah uveo u kuću, jer mu se, kako je ispričao novinarima, učinilo da sa rakunom nešto nije u redu. Rakun je potom prišao staklenim vratima iza kojih je stajao Robertov ljubimac i zabuljio se u njega. 

Coggeshall je izašao na dvorište u namjeri da ga potjera, a onda su stvari postale jako čudne.

 - Stajao je na dvije noge, takvo što kod rakuna nikad prije nisam vidio. Onda je iskesio zube prema meni, a slina mu je kapala iz usta, nakon čega se prevalio na leđa i ostao tako ležati kao da je u komi -  ispričao je Coggeshall koji je životinju uspio fotografirati.



Rakun je nakon nekog vremena došao k svijesti pa sve skupa ponovio još par puta prije nego su pristigli djelatnici nadležne službe. Prrijavljeno je još nekoliko slučaja na širem gradskom području,a ulovljeno je 15 rakuna. Svi su eutanazirani, a lokalne vlasti objavile su kako su rakuni vjerojatno bili zaraženi virusom štenećaka, koji uzrokuje kašalj, tremor, napadaje i gubitak straha od ljudi.

Štenećakom se mogu zaraziti i psi pa su svi vlasnici pasa pozvani da cijepe svoje ljubimce.

Policija je pozvala stanovnike da prijave sve slučajeve rakuna koji se neobično ponašaju.
