Indija je u srijedu objavila da je rekordan broj ljudi umro od koronavirusa u posljednja 24 sata, čime je ukupan broj umrlih narastao na četvrt milijuna, dok je vodeći virolog rekao da je prerano reći jesu li zaraze došle do vrhunca.

Broj umrlih od covida-19 narastao je za 4205, dok je dnevni broj zaraženih narastao za 348.421, a ukupan broj slučajeva zabilježenih u Indiji prešao je 23 milijuna, prema podacima ministarstva zdravstva. Stručnjaci vjeruju da službene brojke uvelike podcjenjuju stvarnu razinu učinka epidemije te da bi stvarni broj umrlih i zaraženih morao biti pet puta veći.

Krivulja zaraze u Indiji mogla bi pokazivati rane znakove izravnavanja, no opadanje broja novozaraženih vjerojatno će biti sporo, rekao je Shahid Jameel, glavni indijski virolog.

"Prerano je reći jesmo li došli do vrhunca", citiran je u novinama Indian Express. "Postoje neke indikacije da se slučajevi stabiliziraju. No ne smijemo zaboraviti da je ovo vrlo visok plato. Čini se da smo se zaustavili na oko 400.000 slučajeva dnevno."

U Indiji se, s populacijom od 1.4 milijarde ljudi, nalazi jedna od tri prijavljene umrle osobe od koronavirusa diljem svijeta, prema podacima Reutersa. Medicinsko osoblje je iscrpljeno, a bolnice su zakrčene, kao i mrtvačnice i krematoriji. Niske su zalihe lijekova i medicinskog kisika. 

Brutalni drugi val zaraza covidom-19 proširio se iz gradova u male gradove i na sela, poharavši slabi zdravstveni sustav loše opremljen za krize ovih razmjera.

U ruralnim dijelovima Indije također nedostaje drva za tradicionalne hinduske kremacije, a veliki broj mrtvih tijela nalazi se na obalama Gangesa koji teče kroz najnaseljenija područja sjevernih ravnica.

Indija je u srijedu objavila da je rekordan broj ljudi umro od koronavirusa u posljednja 24 sata, čime je ukupan broj umrlih narastao na četvrt milijuna, dok je vodeći virolog rekao da je prerano reći jesu li zaraze došle do vrhunca.

Broj umrlih od covida-19 narastao je za 4205, dok je dnevni broj zaraženih narastao za 348.421, a ukupan broj slučajeva zabilježenih u Indiji prešao je 23 milijuna, prema podacima ministarstva zdravstva. Stručnjaci vjeruju da službene brojke uvelike podcjenjuju stvarnu razinu učinka epidemije te da bi stvarni broj umrlih i zaraženih morao biti pet puta veći.

Krivulja zaraze u Indiji mogla bi pokazivati rane znakove izravnavanja, no opadanje broja novozaraženih vjerojatno će biti sporo, rekao je Shahid Jameel, glavni indijski virolog.

"Prerano je reći jesmo li došli do vrhunca", citiran je u novinama Indian Express. "Postoje neke indikacije da se slučajevi stabiliziraju. No ne smijemo zaboraviti da je ovo vrlo visok plato. Čini se da smo se zaustavili na oko 400.000 slučajeva dnevno."

U Indiji se, s populacijom od 1.4 milijarde ljudi, nalazi jedna od tri prijavljene umrle osobe od koronavirusa diljem svijeta, prema podacima Reutersa. Medicinsko osoblje je iscrpljeno, a bolnice su zakrčene, kao i mrtvačnice i krematoriji. Niske su zalihe lijekova i medicinskog kisika. 

Brutalni drugi val zaraza covidom-19 proširio se iz gradova u male gradove i na sela, poharavši slabi zdravstveni sustav loše opremljen za krize ovih razmjera.

U ruralnim dijelovima Indije također nedostaje drva za tradicionalne hinduske kremacije, a veliki broj mrtvih tijela nalazi se na obalama Gangesa koji teče kroz najnaseljenija područja sjevernih ravnica.

Indija je u srijedu objavila da je rekordan broj ljudi umro od koronavirusa u posljednja 24 sata, čime je ukupan broj umrlih narastao na četvrt milijuna, dok je vodeći virolog rekao da je prerano reći jesu li zaraze došle do vrhunca.

Broj umrlih od covida-19 narastao je za 4205, dok je dnevni broj zaraženih narastao za 348.421, a ukupan broj slučajeva zabilježenih u Indiji prešao je 23 milijuna, prema podacima ministarstva zdravstva. Stručnjaci vjeruju da službene brojke uvelike podcjenjuju stvarnu razinu učinka epidemije te da bi stvarni broj umrlih i zaraženih morao biti pet puta veći.

Krivulja zaraze u Indiji mogla bi pokazivati rane znakove izravnavanja, no opadanje broja novozaraženih vjerojatno će biti sporo, rekao je Shahid Jameel, glavni indijski...
