Vlasti Grenlanda od nedjelje službeno preuzimaju široku autonomnu upravu nad najvećim svjetskim otokom, što je posljednji korak prije možebitne neovisnosti, javlja BBC.

Široka autonomija rezultat je referenduma iz studenoga prošle godine kada je tri četvrtine stanovnika Grenlanda podržalo takvu mjeru.

Lokalna vlada od danas formalno u svoje ruke preuzima pravosuđe i unutarnje poslove. Grenlandski, ili Kalaallisut, postaje službenim jezikom.

Danskoj, koja najvećim svjetskim otokom vlada tristo godina, ostaje zadnja riječ u vanjskoj politici i obrani.

Novi sustav samoupravljanja Grenland i njegovih 57 tisuća stanovnika vodi bliže neovisnosti. Grenlanđani, većinom Inuiti, prema međunarodnom zakonu sada će biti tretirani kao poseban narod.

Važna stavka za Grenlanđane svakako je činjenica da će u domaćem proračunu sada ostati znatno veći dio prihoda dobivenih eksploatacijom prirodnih bogatstava. Naime, američki stručnjaci predviđaju da će zbog globalnog zagrijavanja i smanjenja ledenog pokrova ubuduće biti mnogo lakše iskorištavati mineralna bogatstva otoka. To je za Grenland vrlo važno jer im Danska svojim poticajima, o kojima su ovisni, sada puni 30 posto proračuna.

No, i bez toga, nova vlada premijera Kuupika Kleista ima važnije prioritete od neovisnosti. To su prije svega borba protiv socijalnih problema - alkoholizma, nasilja u obitelji i visoke stope suicida.

Vlasti Grenlanda od nedjelje službeno preuzimaju široku autonomnu upravu nad najvećim svjetskim otokom, što je posljednji korak prije možebitne neovisnosti, javlja BBC.

Široka autonomija rezultat je referenduma iz studenoga prošle godine kada je tri četvrtine stanovnika Grenlanda podržalo takvu mjeru.

Lokalna vlada od danas formalno u svoje ruke preuzima pravosuđe i unutarnje poslove. Grenlandski, ili Kalaallisut, postaje službenim jezikom.

Danskoj, koja najvećim svjetskim otokom vlada tristo godina, ostaje zadnja riječ u vanjskoj politici i obrani.

Novi sustav samoupravljanja Grenland i njegovih 57 tisuća stanovnika vodi bliže neovisnosti. Grenlanđani, većinom Inuiti, prema međunarodnom zakonu sada će biti tretirani kao poseban narod.

Važna stavka za Grenlanđane svakako je činjenica da će u domaćem proračunu sada ostati znatno veći dio prihoda dobivenih eksploatacijom prirodnih bogatstava. Naime, američki stručnjaci predviđaju da će zbog globalnog zagrijavanja i smanjenja ledenog pokrova ubuduće biti mnogo lakše iskorištavati mineralna bogatstva otoka. To je za Grenland vrlo važno jer im Danska svojim poticajima, o kojima su ovisni, sada puni 30 posto proračuna.

No, i bez toga, nova vlada premijera Kuupika Kleista ima važnije prioritete od neovisnosti. To su prije svega borba protiv socijalnih problema - alkoholizma, nasilja u obitelji i visoke stope suicida.
