Multinacionalne kompanije u farmaceutskoj industriji obvezale su se u četvrtak da će proizvesti cjepivo za koronavirus za 12 do 18 mjeseci i da će ono biti dostupno "u svim dijelovima svijeta".
Deseti kliničkih ispitivanja trenutačno se provode kako bi se razvili jeftiniji i djelotvorniji testovi za otkrivanje virusa, a napose lijek ili cjepivo kojim će se moći suzbiti koronavirus kojim je već zaraženo više od 244.000 ljudi a više od 10.000 je umrlo u svijetu.
"Čak i ako se proizvede negdje drugdje, osigurat ćemo da cjepivo bude dostupno svima kojima je potrebno u bilo kojem dijelu svijeta", rekao je Paul Stoffels, potpredsjednik izvršnog odbora Johnson&Johnsona na videokonferenciji koju je organizirala Međunarodna federacija farmaceutskih proizvođača (IFPMA).
"To je obećanje dala cijela farmaceutska industrija", dodao je.
Administrativne formalnosti poput odobrenja za distribuciju mogu se pojednostaviti i ubrzati u ovoj utrci s vremenom, sredstva ne nedostaju a javno-privatno partnerstvo omogućuje da se smanji financijski rizik povezan s velikim ulaganjima koja zahtijevaju istraživanje i proizvodnja, rekao je.
"Proživljavamo iznimnu situaciju i industrija će na nju odgovoriti", rekao je David Ricks, izvršni direktor Eli Lilly and Companyja i predsjednik IFPMA-e.
"Radimo na tri polja: osigurati distribuciju (...), preusmjeriti postojeću tehnologiju (...) i proizvesti nove lijekove, nova cjepiva, nove testove kojima će se iskorijeniti Covid-19", dodaje.
"Trebat će 12 do 18 mjeseci da bismo imali cjepivo odobreno na tržištu", ocijenio je David Loew, izvršni potpredsjednik Sanofija i čelnik Sanofi Pasteura.
Kada regulatorne agencije odobre formulu trebat će proizvesti dovoljne količine cjepiva i osigurati njegovu dopremu u sve dijelove svijeta.
"Riječ je o milijardama ljudi, golem je to izazov", ističe Loew.
Kako bi uklonili zapreke u proizvodnji i u prijevozu, vlasnici velikih laboratorija pozivaju države da "uvrste farmaceutsku industriju u glavne sektore" gospodarstva, što će zaposlenicima omogućiti dolazak u tvornice.
"Bilo je nekih problema na lokalnoj razini", rekao je David Ricks.
Budući da se zna da zasad nema djelotvornog cjepiva ni za jednu vrstu koronavirusa kod ljudi, "većina projekata" za kliničko ispitivanje osuđena je na neuspjeh, upozorava Rajeev Venkayya, voditelj odjela za razvoj cjepiva u Takedi. No "neki će uspjeti" jer su pokrenuti projekti sveobuhvatni, dodaje.

Multinacionalne kompanije u farmaceutskoj industriji obvezale su se u četvrtak da će proizvesti cjepivo za koronavirus za 12 do 18 mjeseci i da će ono biti dostupno "u svim dijelovima svijeta".
Deseti kliničkih ispitivanja trenutačno se provode kako bi se razvili jeftiniji i djelotvorniji testovi za otkrivanje virusa, a napose lijek ili cjepivo kojim će se moći suzbiti koronavirus kojim je već zaraženo više od 244.000 ljudi a više od 10.000 je umrlo u svijetu.
"Čak i ako se proizvede negdje drugdje, osigurat ćemo da cjepivo bude dostupno svima kojima je potrebno u bilo kojem dijelu svijeta", rekao je Paul Stoffels, potpredsjednik izvršnog odbora Johnson&Johnsona na videokonferenciji koju je organizirala Međunarodna federacija farmaceutskih proizvođača (IFPMA).
"To je obećanje dala cijela farmaceutska industrija", dodao je.
Administrativne formalnosti poput odobrenja za distribuciju mogu se pojednostaviti i ubrzati u ovoj utrci s vremenom, sredstva ne nedostaju a javno-privatno partnerstvo omogućuje da se smanji financijski rizik povezan s velikim ulaganjima koja zahtijevaju istraživanje i proizvodnja, rekao je.
"Proživljavamo iznimnu situaciju i industrija će na nju odgovoriti", rekao je David Ricks, izvršni direktor Eli Lilly and Companyja i predsjednik IFPMA-e.
"Radimo na tri polja: osigurati distribuciju (...), preusmjeriti postojeću tehnologiju (...) i proizvesti nove lijekove, nova cjepiva, nove testove kojima će se iskorijeniti Covid-19", dodaje.
"Trebat će 12 do 18 mjeseci da bismo imali cjepivo odobreno na tržištu", ocijenio je David Loew, izvršni potpredsjednik Sanofija i čelnik Sanofi Pasteura.
Kada regulatorne agencije odobre formulu trebat će proizvesti dovoljne količine cjepiva i osigurati njegovu dopremu u sve dijelove svijeta.
"Riječ je o milijardama ljudi, golem je to izazov", ističe Loew.
Kako bi uklonili zapreke u proizvodnji i u prijevozu, vlasnici velikih laboratorija pozivaju države da "uvrste farmaceutsku industriju u glavne sektore" gospodarstva, što će zaposlenicima omogućiti dolazak u tvornice.
"Bilo je nekih problema na lokalnoj razini", rekao je David Ricks.
Budući da se zna da zasad nema djelotvornog cjepiva ni za jednu vrstu koronavirusa kod ljudi, "većina projekata" za kliničko ispitivanje osuđena je na neuspjeh, upozorava Rajeev Venkayya, voditelj odjela za razvoj cjepiva u Takedi. No "neki će uspjeti" jer su pokrenuti projekti sveobuhvatni, dodaje.
