Njihov sastanak lider Sjeverne Koreje Kim Jong-un započeo je riječima: "Gospodine direktore, nisam mislio da ćete doći. Znam da ste me pokušavali ubiti." Smiješio se.

"Gospodine čelniče, još vas pokušavam ubiti", odgovorio mu je Mike Pompeo, bivši direktor CIA-e i bivši šef State Departmenta, ne skidajući vlastiti osmijeh s usana. Bilo je to u vrijeme dok je Pompeo kao izaslanik administracije Donalda Trumpa pokušavao nagovoriti Pjongjang da odustane od nuklearnog oružja, piše Jutarnji.

Bio je to i samo jedan od doživljaja o kojima u svojim memoarima "Ne popuštaj ni pedlja: Bitka za Ameriku koju volim" piše taj fanatični trumpovac koji ima predsjedničke ambicije za 2024. godinu. Nakon što je s Trumpom napustio Bijelu kuću, Pompeo se privremeno skućio u konzervativnom think tanku Hudson Institute. "Političke su knjige obično razvodnjene. No, to ovdje nije slučaj", piše komentator Washington Posta u svojoj recenziji, nazivajući štivo "masterclassom u štrcanju političkog otrova".

Američki mediji komentiraju kako je Pompeo memoare iskoristio da bi ocrnio Johna Boltona, nekadašnjeg Trumpova savjetnika za nacionalnu sigurnost, a sada velikog kritičara, za kojeg Pompeo tvrdi da je počinio izdaju i da bi mu se trebalo suditi. Razračunava se i s Trumpovom veleposlanicom pri UN-u Nikki Haley, koja također ima predsjedničke ambicije. Tvrdi da je pokušala izgurati Trumpova potpredsjednika Mike Pencea kako bi zauzela njegovo mjesto.

Jedno od kontroverznijih poglavlja odnosi se na Jamala Khashoggija, saudijskog novinara koji je brutalno izmasakriran u Turskoj 2018., a čije je ubojstvo najvjerojatnije naručio saudijski prestolonasljednik Muhamad bin Salman. Khashoggi nije bio novinar, piše Pompeo, nego aktivist. Nakon likvidacije Pompeov je posao bio da saudijskog princa uvjeri da usprkos napisima u dijelu američkih medija i dalje ima vladinu podršku. "I, dakako, da pokaže srednji prst Washington Postu, New York Timesu i ostalim popišancima koji pojma nemaju o pravom svijetu". Pompeo u knjizi otkriva da mrzi novinare. Zove ih "vukovima", "hijenama". Njihovo ohrabrivanje zviždača smatra "protuzakonitim".

U knjizi se dotiče svega i svačega, a na stranicama je prisutna velika ljubav prema Donaldu Trumpu i mržnja prema političkoj opoziciji, kaže WP. Pompeo je otkrio zanimljive detalje iz svakodnevnih brifinga s Trumpom, među ostalim i zgodu iz Ovalnog ureda iz 2017. godine kada ga je američki predsjednik, naglas razmišljajući, upitao: "A da zaratimo s Meksikom, kako bi to prošlo?" Trump se samo igrao idejama koje bi mogle biti od koristi Amerikancima, objašnjava Pompeo. Trumpovu ideju da Amerika kupi Grenland, iako nikad nije bio na prodaju, Pompeo komentira kao "jednu od najboljih ideja" nekog predsjednika.

Osim novinara, Pompeo jako mrzi i karijerne diplomate. Opisuje ih kao "neamerikance, izdajnike, koji su velikom većinom krajnji ljevičari". Bolton je "zviždač koji bi trebao biti u zatvoru", a bivši predsjednik Barack Obama vodio je vanjsku politiku koja ga čini suučesnikom terorista. Obamini glavni obavještajci James Clapper i John Brennan prema Pompeu su gospodari dezinformacija i glavni nositelji "ruske varke", prema kojoj se Kremlj uplitao u američke izbore 2016. godine.

Kada je riječ o međunarodnoj areni, Pompeo otkriva kako je 2019. godine došlo do opasnog sukoba između Pakistana i Indije koji je bio blizu nuklearnog okršaja. Dogodilo se to u veljači nakon što je New Delhi na napad na svoje vojnike u Kašmiru odgovorio lansiranjem raketa na militante u Pakistanu. "Mislim da svijet nije posve svjestan koliko je blizu nuklearnom incidentu došao sukob Pakistana i Indije 2019. godine", piše Pompeo. "Ne znam točno ni ja. Ali znam da je bio preblizu", otkriva.

"Nikad neću zaboraviti noć kada sam bio na summitu u Hanoiju na pregovorima sa Sjevernokorejcima kada su me probudili jer su si Pakistan i Indija počeli međusobno prijetiti zbog Kašmira. Probudili su me da razgovaram s indijskim kolegom koji mi je rekao da su Pakistanci započeli sa stavljanjem u pogon svojeg nuklearnog arsenala i da Indija planira eskalaciju sa svoje strane", piše Pompeo.

Sa savjetnikom za nacionalnu sigurnost Johnom Boltonom sastao se u malenom komunikacijski zaštićenom prostoru u hotelu. Potom je nazvao pakistanskog šefa vojske i rekao mu što je čuo od Indijaca. General Džaved Badžva rekao je da to nije istina. "Trebalo nam je nekoliko sati da u suradnji s našim ljudima u New Delhiju i Islamabadu uvjerimo obje strane da se oni drugi ne pripremaju za nuklearni rat. Niti jednoj drugoj naciji ne bi pošlo za rukom izbjeći takav strašni scenarij", napisao je Pompeo.

"Gospodine čelniče, još vas pokušavam ubiti", odgovorio mu je Mike Pompeo, bivši direktor CIA-e i bivši šef State Departmenta, ne skidajući vlastiti osmijeh s usana. Bilo je to u vrijeme dok je Pompeo kao izaslanik administracije Donalda Trumpa pokušavao nagovoriti Pjongjang da odustane od nuklearnog oružja, piše Jutarnji.

Bio je to i samo jedan od doživljaja o kojima u svojim memoarima "Ne popuštaj ni pedlja: Bitka za Ameriku koju volim" piše taj fanatični trumpovac koji ima predsjedničke ambicije za 2024. godinu. Nakon što je s Trumpom napustio Bijelu kuću, Pompeo se privremeno skućio u konzervativnom think tanku Hudson Institute. "Političke su knjige obično razvodnjene. No, to ovdje nije slučaj", piše komentator Washington Posta u svojoj recenziji, nazivajući štivo "masterclassom u štrcanju političkog otrova".

Američki mediji komentiraju kako je Pompeo memoare iskoristio da bi ocrnio Johna Boltona, nekadašnjeg Trumpova savjetnika za nacionalnu sigurnost, a sada velikog kritičara, za kojeg Pompeo tvrdi da je počinio izdaju i da bi mu se trebalo suditi. Razračunava se i s Trumpovom veleposlanicom pri UN-u Nikki Haley, koja također ima predsjedničke ambicije. Tvrdi da je pokušala izgurati Trumpova potpredsjednika Mike Pencea kako bi zauzela njegovo mjesto.

Jedno od kontroverznijih poglavlja odnosi se na Jamala Khashoggija, saudijskog novinara koji je brutalno izmasakriran u Turskoj 2018., a čije je ubojstvo najvjerojatnije naručio saudijski prestolonasljednik Muhamad bin Salman. Khashoggi nije bio novinar, piše Pompeo, nego aktivist. Nakon likvidacije Pompeov je posao bio da saudijskog princa uvjeri da usprkos napisima u dijelu američkih medija i dalje ima vladinu podršku. "I, dakako, da pokaže srednji prst Washington Postu, New York Timesu i ostalim popišancima koji pojma nemaju o pravom svijetu". Pompeo u knjizi otkriva da mrzi novinare. Zove ih "vukovima", "hijenama". Njihovo ohrabrivanje zviždača smatra "protuzakonitim".

U knjizi se dotiče svega i svačega, a na stranicama je prisutna velika ljubav prema Donaldu Trumpu i mržnja prema političkoj opoziciji, kaže WP. Pompeo je otkrio zanimljive detalje iz svakodnevnih brifinga s Trumpom, među ostalim i zgodu iz Ovalnog ureda iz 2017. godine kada ga je američki predsjednik, naglas razmišljajući, upitao: "A da zaratimo s Meksikom, kako bi to prošlo?" Trump se samo igrao idejama koje bi mogle biti od koristi Amerikancima, objašnjava Pompeo. Trumpovu ideju da Amerika kupi Grenland, iako nikad nije bio na prodaju, Pompeo komentira kao "jednu od najboljih ideja" nekog predsjednika.

Osim novinara, Pompeo jako mrzi i karijerne diplomate. Opisuje ih kao "neamerikance, izdajnike, koji su velikom većinom krajnji ljevičari". Bolton je "zviždač koji bi trebao biti u zatvoru", a bivši predsjednik Barack Obama vodio je vanjsku politiku koja ga čini suučesnikom terorista. Obamini glavni obavještajci James Clapper i John Brennan prema Pompeu su gospodari dezinformacija i glavni nositelji "ruske varke", prema kojoj se Kremlj uplitao u američke izbore 2016. godine.

Kada je riječ o međunarodnoj areni, Pompeo otkriva kako je 2019. godine došlo do opasnog sukoba između Pakistana i Indije koji je bio blizu nuklearnog okršaja. Dogodilo se to u veljači nakon što je New Delhi na napad na svoje vojnike u Kašmiru odgovorio lansiranjem raketa na militante u Pakistanu. "Mislim da svijet nije posve svjestan koliko je blizu nuklearnom incidentu došao sukob Pakistana i Indije 2019. godine", piše Pompeo. "Ne znam točno ni ja. Ali znam da je bio preblizu", otkriva.

"Nikad neću zaboraviti noć kada sam bio na summitu u Hanoiju na pregovorima sa Sjevernokorejcima kada su me probudili jer su si Pakistan i Indija počeli međusobno prijetiti zbog Kašmira. Probudili su me da razgovaram s indijskim kolegom koji mi je rekao da su Pakistanci započeli sa stavljanjem u pogon svojeg nuklearnog arsenala i da Indija planira eskalaciju sa svoje strane", piše Pompeo.

Sa savjetnikom za nacionalnu sigurnost Johnom Boltonom sastao se u malenom komunikacijski zaštićenom prostoru u hotelu. Potom je nazvao pakistanskog šefa vojske i rekao mu što je čuo od Indijaca. General Džaved Badžva rekao je da to nije istina. "Trebalo nam je nekoliko sati da u suradnji s našim ljudima u New Delhiju i Islamabadu uvjerimo obje strane da se oni drugi ne pripremaju za nuklearni rat. Niti jednoj drugoj naciji ne bi pošlo za rukom izbjeći takav strašni scenarij", napisao je Pompeo.
