Najciviliziranije zemlje svijeta u ne tako davnoj prošlosti činile su masovne zločine kojih su tek naknadno postale svjesne, s radikalnom promjenom perspektive. Prošle su godine u Kanadi u blizini državnih katoličkih škola pronađene grobnice brojne urođeničke djece koje je država prije nepunih stotinjak godina otimala od roditelja i pokušavala nasilno asimilirati u svoje društvo, po zapadnom odgojnom receptu. Jednak krimen svoje države u zadnje vrijeme osvješćuju i Danci, sad u svakom smislu uzorni Europljani. Sve češće se piše o zločinima tamošnjeg sustava protiv brojne eskimske djece koju je s Grenlanda, svoje bivše kolonije, Danska također otimala roditeljima pokušavajući od njih napraviti male Dance. Najgore je što je u podlozi tih strašnih odluka i mnogobrojnih roditeljskih i dječjih trauma bila naoko plemenita želja da se djeci Inuita na taj način pomogne: život na Grenlandu, iz danske optike, bio je obilježen siromaštvom, niskom kvalitetom života i visokim stopama dječje smrtnosti.

Deseci inuitske djece su u dobi od 5 do 9 godina odvedeni iz svojih domova ne znajući da će na kraju biti dio neuspjelog društvenog eksperimenta. Mnogi od njih više nikad nisu vidjeli svoje obitelji na Grenlandu, vlastiti narod ih je odbacio, te su s vremenom bivali posve zaboravljeni u svom rodnom kraju.

Einar Lund Jensen istraživač je ovoga projekta u Nacionalnom muzeju Danske. Deklarirani cilj države bio je stvoriti male Dance koji će postati inteligencija i uzori za 'primitivnu' eskimsku populaciju na Grenlandu, tvrdi Jensen, ujedno i  koautor izvješća o eksperimentu koje je nedavno naručila vlada. Danska se u to doba, po njemu, osjećala dužnom modernizirati svoju arktičku koloniju, nadajući se da će time tamo obraniti svoje interese dok su dekolonizacijski pokreti nakon Drugog svjetskog rata posvuda uzimali zamah.

Državni vrh Danske zapravo je preuzeo ideju jedne nevladine organizacije za ljudska prava o dovođenju inuitske djece u zemlju kako bi se oporavili od, smatrali su, njihovih loših životnih uvjeta. Polazili su od pretpostavke da je danski način života bolji i superiorniji životu ljudi u vječnom snijegu i ledu koji uglavnom preživljavaju jedući sirovo meso. Ta fiks-ideja imala je mnoge loše posljedice i tragičan ishod po većinu malih Eskima.

Nakon godinu-dvije života i neuspjele asimilacije u Danskoj, većina inuitske djece vraćena je na Grenland i smještena u sirotište koje je vodio Danski Crveni križ. Ni tad im nije dozvoljen kontakt s obiteljima i zabranjeno im je govoriti materinji jezik. Grenlanđani su ih zbog svega smatrali strancima, pa su se mnoga djeca vratila u Dansku u udomiteljske obitelji jer se nisu uspjela adaptirati u vlastitome narodu. Gotovo polovica skupine razvila je mentalne bolesti ili probleme sa zlouporabom droga u kasnijem životu, a mnogi su bili trajno nezaposleni i vodili su teške živote.

Danska vlada "oduzela nam je naš identitet i obitelji", tvrdi Kristine Heinesen (76), jedna od šest još uvijek živih jedinki iz davnog državnog eksperimenta s živom djecom. Heinesen priznaje da joj je djetinjstvo bilo udobnije i pristojnije u sirotištu nego na Grenlandu, no nakon odrastanja svi su prošli pakao kojega većina nije preživjela. Kulturno su iskorijenjeni i nisu pripadali nigdje i nikome.

Danska udruga Save the Children ispričala se 2015. za ulogu koju su odigrali u ovom pogubnom eksperimentu. Danska vlada isto je učinila pet godina kasnije, no još uvijek nije nadoknadila štetu preživjelim žrtvama. Njih šest tužilo je dansku državu da je prekršila tada važeći danski zakon i konvencije o ljudskim pravima, uključujući pravo na privatni i obiteljski život. Danski ministar za socijalna pitanja i starije osobe izjavio je tek ovih dana kako vlada razmatra njihov zahtjev za odštetu. “Vlada i ja vjerujemo da je prepoznavanje pogrešaka iz prošlosti i učenje iz njih ključno kako se lošoj povijesti nikad ne bi dopustilo ponavljanje.”, poručio je.

Malene ljudske jedinke, pokazalo se, ne mogu odrasti u normalne građane bez svojih prirodnih veza s kulturom i zemljom svojega naroda, njegovim jezikom, običajima, duhovnošću… Mnogima je pronalazak osjećaja identiteta trajao cijeli život, te su u poznoj dobi učili roditeljski govor, ribolovne vještine i sve ono što im je okrutno oteo pokušaj 'superiornijih i civiliziranijih' da ih oblikuju po svojemu obrascu.

Najciviliziranije zemlje svijeta u ne tako davnoj prošlosti činile su masovne zločine kojih su tek naknadno postale svjesne, s radikalnom promjenom perspektive. Prošle su godine u Kanadi u blizini državnih katoličkih škola pronađene grobnice brojne urođeničke djece koje je država prije nepunih stotinjak godina otimala od roditelja i pokušavala nasilno asimilirati u svoje društvo, po zapadnom odgojnom receptu. Jednak krimen svoje države u zadnje vrijeme osvješćuju i Danci, sad u svakom smislu uzorni Europljani. Sve češće se piše o zločinima tamošnjeg sustava protiv brojne eskimske djece koju je s Grenlanda, svoje bivše kolonije, Danska također otimala roditeljima pokušavajući od njih napraviti male Dance. Najgore je što je u podlozi tih strašnih odluka i mnogobrojnih roditeljskih i dječjih trauma bila naoko plemenita želja da se djeci Inuita na taj način pomogne: život na Grenlandu, iz danske optike, bio je obilježen siromaštvom, niskom kvalitetom života i visokim stopama dječje smrtnosti.

Deseci inuitske djece su u dobi od 5 do 9 godina odvedeni iz svojih domova ne znajući da će na kraju biti dio neuspjelog društvenog eksperimenta. Mnogi od njih više nikad nisu vidjeli svoje obitelji na Grenlandu, vlastiti narod ih je odbacio, te su s vremenom bivali posve zaboravljeni u svom rodnom kraju.

Einar Lund Jensen istraživač je ovoga projekta u Nacionalnom muzeju Danske. Deklarirani cilj države bio je stvoriti male Dance koji će postati inteligencija i uzori za 'primitivnu' eskimsku populaciju na Grenlandu, tvrdi Jensen, ujedno i  koautor izvješća o eksperimentu koje je nedavno naručila vlada. Danska se u to doba, po njemu, osjećala dužnom modernizirati svoju arktičku koloniju, nadajući se da će time tamo obraniti svoje interese dok su dekolonizacijski pokreti nakon Drugog svjetskog rata posvuda uzimali zamah.

Državni vrh Danske zapravo je preuzeo ideju jedne nevladine organizacije za ljudska prava o dovođenju inuitske djece u zemlju kako bi se oporavili od, smatrali su, njihovih loših životnih uvjeta. Polazili su od pretpostavke da je danski način života bolji i superiorniji životu ljudi u vječnom snijegu i ledu koji uglavnom preživljavaju jedući sirovo meso. Ta fiks-ideja imala je mnoge loše posljedice i tragičan ishod po većinu malih Eskima.

Nakon godinu-dvije života i neuspjele asimilacije u Danskoj, većina inuitske djece vraćena je na Grenland i smještena u sirotište koje je vodio Danski Crveni križ. Ni tad im nije dozvoljen kontakt s obiteljima i zabranjeno im je govoriti materinji jezik. Grenlanđani su ih zbog svega smatrali strancima, pa su se mnoga djeca vratila u Dansku u udomiteljske obitelji jer se nisu uspjela adaptirati u vlastitome narodu. Gotovo polovica skupine razvila je mentalne bolesti ili probleme sa zlouporabom droga u kasnijem životu, a mnogi su bili trajno nezaposleni i vodili su teške živote.

Danska vlada "oduzela nam je naš identitet i obitelji", tvrdi Kristine Heinesen (76), jedna od šest još uvijek živih jedinki iz davnog državnog eksperimenta s živom djecom. Heinesen priznaje da joj je djetinjstvo bilo udobnije i pristojnije u sirotištu nego na Grenlandu, no nakon odrastanja svi su prošli pakao kojega većina nije preživjela. Kulturno su iskorijenjeni i nisu pripadali nigdje i nikome.

Danska udruga Save the Children ispričala se 2015. za ulogu koju su odigrali u ovom pogubnom eksperimentu. Danska vlada isto je učinila pet godina kasnije, no još uvijek nije nadoknadila štetu preživjelim žrtvama. Njih šest tužilo je dansku državu da je prekršila tada važeći danski zakon i konvencije o ljudskim pravima, uključujući pravo na privatni i obiteljski život. Danski ministar za socijalna pitanja i starije osobe izjavio je tek ovih dana kako vlada razmatra njihov zahtjev za odštetu. “Vlada i ja vjerujemo da je prepoznavanje pogrešaka iz prošlosti i učenje iz njih ključno kako se lošoj povijesti nikad ne bi dopustilo ponavljanje.”, poručio je.

Malene ljudske jedinke, pokazalo se, ne mogu odrasti u normalne građane bez svojih prirodnih veza s kulturom i zemljom svojega naroda, njegovim jezikom, običajima, duhovnošću… Mnogima je pronalazak osjećaja identiteta trajao cijeli život, te su u poznoj dobi učili roditeljski govor, ribolovne vještine i sve ono što im je okrutno oteo pokušaj 'superiornijih i civiliziranijih' da ih oblikuju po svojemu obrascu.
