General David Thompson, zamjenik šefa američkih svemirskih operacija, rekao je da Kina razvija svoje svemirske sposobnosti 'dvostruko brže' od SAD-a te upozorio da bi ih najveća država svijeta mogla prestići u svemirskim sposobnostima do kraja desetljeća.

Generalu Thompsonu pridružili su se Jim Cooper, demokrat iz Tennesseeja koji predsjedava pododborom za strateške snage u Domu oružanih snaga i Chris Kubasik, predsjednik i izvršni direktor L3Harris Technologies, koji razvija svemirske i zračne sustave za američku vojsku. Cooper je rekao, 'Dovraga, da', kada su ga upitali natječe li se SAD u takozvanoj svemirskoj utrci s Kinom. I general Thompson i Kubasik složili su se s Cooperovom ocjenom.

'Sjajno je što je privatni sektor toliko inovativniji nego što je naše ratno zrakoplovstvo bilo. Moramo natjerati i svemirske snage da budu puno inovativnije te pokušaju držati korak s privatnim sektorom', rekao je Cooper.

Dodao je: 'Da bismo stvarno bili superiorni, moramo ići dalje od mašte Elona Muska, mašte Jeffa Bezosa, izvan njihovih džepova. Proračun trenutno iznosi 17 milijardi dolara - to je puno novca, ali s obzirom na to koliko je svemir ključan, pitanje je - radimo li dovoljno?'

Cooper je sugerirao da bi svemirske snage trebale biti više poput Nacionalnog izviđačkog ureda (NRO), koji nadgleda vladine svemirske satelite i pruža satelitske obavještajne podatke nekoliko američkih agencija, prenosi CNN. 'NRO je zapravo napravio prilično nevjerojatan posao', rekao je Cooper. 'Nisu tako poznati kao neke druge agencije... Ali nedavno sam imao usputni brifing s NRO-om i Svemirskim snagama. General David Thompson, zamjenik šefa američkih svemirskih operacija, rekao je da Kina razvija svoje svemirske sposobnosti 'dvostruko brže' od SAD-a te upozorio da bi ih najveća država svijeta mogla prestići u svemirskim sposobnostima do kraja desetljeća.

Generalu Thompsonu pridružili su se Jim Cooper, demokrat iz Tennesseeja koji predsjedava pododborom za strateške snage u Domu oružanih snaga i Chris Kubasik, predsjednik i izvršni direktor L3Harris Technologies, koji razvija svemirske i zračne sustave za američku vojsku. Cooper je rekao, 'Dovraga, da', kada su ga upitali natječe li se SAD u takozvanoj svemirskoj utrci s Kinom. I general Thompson i Kubasik složili su se s Cooperovom ocjenom.

Cooper je bio nepokolebljiv zagovornik svemirskih snaga, ali je u subotu rekao da se one ne kreću dovoljno brzo da bi 'držale korak' s privatnom industrijom. 'Sjajno je što je privatni sektor toliko inovativniji nego što je naše ratno zrakoplovstvo bilo. Moramo natjerati i svemirske snage da budu puno inovativnije te pokušaju držati korak s privatnim sektorom', rekao je Cooper.

Dodao je: 'Da bismo stvarno bili superiorni, moramo ići dalje od mašte Elona Muska, mašte Jeffa Bezosa, izvan njihovih džepova. Proračun trenutno iznosi 17 milijardi dolara - to je puno novca, ali s obzirom na to koliko je svemir ključan, pitanje je - radimo li dovoljno?'

Cooper je sugerirao da bi svemirske snage trebale biti više poput Nacionalnog izviđačkog ureda (NRO), koji nadgleda vladine svemirske satelite i pruža satelitske obavještajne podatke nekoliko američkih agencija, prenosi CNN. 'NRO je zapravo napravio prilično nevjerojatan posao', rekao je Cooper. 'Nisu tako poznati kao neke druge agencije... Ali nedavno sam imao usputni brifing s NRO-om i Svemirskim snagama. Moj zaključak nakon tog brifinga bio je: hvala Bogu na NRO-u! Jedna čekam dan kada ću moći reći isto o Svemirskim snagama.'

General David Thompson, zamjenik šefa američkih svemirskih operacija, rekao je da Kina razvija svoje svemirske sposobnosti 'dvostruko brže' od SAD-a te upozorio da bi ih najveća država svijeta mogla prestići u svemirskim sposobnostima do kraja desetljeća.

Generalu Thompsonu pridružili su se Jim Cooper, demokrat iz Tennesseeja koji predsjedava pododborom za strateške snage u Domu oružanih snaga i Chris Kubasik, predsjednik i izvršni direktor L3Harris Technologies, koji razvija svemirske i zračne sustave za američku vojsku. Cooper je rekao, 'Dovraga, da', kada su ga upitali natječe li se SAD u takozvanoj svemirskoj utrci s Kinom. I general Thompson i Kubasik složili su se s Cooperovom ocjenom.
