Američka potpredsjednica Kamala Harris u srijedu je pozvala Vijetnam da uspostavi bliže odnose s Washingtonom kako bi se usprotivili onome što je nazvala "nasilničkim ponašanjem" Pekinga u regiji. 

- Moramo pronaći način da izvršimo i povećamo pritisak na Peking da se pridržava Konvencije Ujedinjenih naroda o pravu mora te da se usprotivimo njihovom nasilnom ponašanju i pretjeranom polaganju prava na more - rekla je Harris tijekom sastanka s vijetnamskim predsjednikom Nguyenom Xuanom Phucom u srijedu ujutro.

Tijekom govora u Singapuru u utorak ujutro, Harris je rekla da agresivna teritorijalna prisvajanja u Južnom kineskom moru predstavljaju "prisilu" i "zastrašivanje".

Peking gotovo cijelo Južno kinesko more smatra svojim teritorijem - unatoč pretenzijama nekoliko drugih zemalja, uključujući i Vijetnam - te je izgradio umjetne otoke s vojnim objektima nad grebenima u tome području.

Harris je rekla da će SAD Vijetnamu donirati novi brod obalne straže koji će im pomoći braniti obalni teritorij.

Washington je također rekao da bilateralne dviju zemalja podići na razinu takozvanog "strateškog partnerstva."

Tijekom svoga posjeta, Harris je predstavila novi južnoazijski regionalni ured Centara za kontrolu i prevenciju bolesti (CDC), koji se otvara u trenutku kad se Vijetnam suočava s najvećim izbijanjem zaraze od početka pandemije. Broj smrtnih slučajeva od covida-19 je u porastu u zemlji.

Harris je u Vijetnam stigla u utorak navečer nakon dvodnevnog posjeta Singapuru u sklopu kratke turneje po jugoistočnoj Aziji te će iz Hanoia otići u četvrtak.

Američka potpredsjednica Kamala Harris u srijedu je pozvala Vijetnam da uspostavi bliže odnose s Washingtonom kako bi se usprotivili onome što je nazvala "nasilničkim ponašanjem" Pekinga u regiji. 

- Moramo pronaći način da izvršimo i povećamo pritisak na Peking da se pridržava Konvencije Ujedinjenih naroda o pravu mora te da se usprotivimo njihovom nasilnom ponašanju i pretjeranom polaganju prava na more - rekla je Harris tijekom sastanka s vijetnamskim predsjednikom Nguyenom Xuanom Phucom u srijedu ujutro.

Tijekom govora u Singapuru u utorak ujutro, Harris je rekla da agresivna teritorijalna prisvajanja u Južnom kineskom moru predstavljaju "prisilu" i "zastrašivanje".

Peking gotovo cijelo Južno kinesko more smatra svojim teritorijem - unatoč pretenzijama nekoliko drugih zemalja, uključujući i Vijetnam - te je izgradio umjetne otoke s vojnim objektima nad grebenima u tome području.

Harris je rekla da će SAD Vijetnamu donirati novi brod obalne straže koji će im pomoći braniti obalni teritorij.

Washington je također rekao da bilateralne dviju zemalja podići na razinu takozvanog "strateškog partnerstva."

Tijekom svoga posjeta, Harris je predstavila novi južnoazijski regionalni ured Centara za kontrolu i prevenciju bolesti (CDC), koji se otvara u trenutku kad se Vijetnam suočava s najvećim izbijanjem zaraze od početka pandemije. Broj smrtnih slučajeva od covida-19 je u porastu u zemlji.

Harris je u Vijetnam stigla u utorak navečer nakon dvodnevnog posjeta Singapuru u sklopu kratke turneje po jugoistočnoj Aziji te će iz Hanoia otići u četvrtak.

Američka potpredsjednica Kamala Harris: Vijetnam se mora suprotstaviti nasilničkom ponašanju Kine, SAD će im donirati brod za obranu teritorija

Američka potpredsjednica Kamala Harris u srijedu je pozvala Vijetnam da uspostavi bliže odnose s Washingtonom kako bi se usprotivili onome što je nazvala "nasilničkim ponašanjem" Pekinga u regiji. 

- Moramo pronaći način da izvršimo i povećamo pritisak na Peking da se pridržava Konvencije Ujedinjenih naroda o pravu mora te da se usprotivimo njihovom nasilnom ponašanju i pretjeranom polaganju prava na more - rekla je Harris tijekom sastanka s vijetnamskim predsjednikom Nguyenom Xuanom Phucom u srijedu ujutro.

Tijekom govora u Singapuru u utorak ujutro, Harris je rekla da agresivna teritorijalna prisvajanja u Južnom kineskom moru predstavljaju "prisilu" i "zastrašivanje".

Peking gotovo cijelo Južno kinesko more smatra svojim teritorijem - unatoč pretenzijama...
