Hrvatska znanstvenica Željka Trepotec, molekularna biologinja koja radi u Munchenu, gostovala je u N1 Studiju uživo gdje je govorila o cjepivu protiv koronavirusa koje se temelji na glasničkoj RNA, piše N1.
"Ova vrsta cjepiva temeljena na glasničkoj RNA bazira se na tome da se u naš organizam unosi samo uputa koju mi dajemo stanicama koje dalje stvaraju proteine na bazi kojeg naš organizam dalje stvara imunitet. Što se tiče običnih cjepiva, najčešće se koriste oslabljeni virusi ili živi virusi koji se unose u naš organizam i na koje naše tijelo stječe imunitet", pojasnila je Trepotec.
No, u javnosti postoji određeni otpor prema cijepljenju protiv koronavirusa, a Trepotec smatra da je jedan od razloga za to i nedostatak informacija.
Potrebno informirati građane
"Svjedoci smo da dio hrvatske populacije ima strah vezan za ovo cjepivo, vjerojatno do toga dolazi jer je to novo cjepivo, prvo takve vrste da je odobreno, nisu upoznati s tim načinom molekularne biologije koja stoji iza toga, a vjerujem da dio problema leži i u nedostatku informacija. Hrvatska javnost nije pravovremeno informirana, nije dobila kvalitetne podatke na čemu se cjepivo temelji i kako funkcionira i to je temeljni problem", kazala je.
Trepotec je detaljno objasnila i što će točno osoba unijeti u organizam kada se cijepi protiv koronavirusa.
"Osoba koja će primiti cjepivo protiv koronavirusa ove vrste primit će RNA, dakle ribonukleinsku kiselinu koja je upakirana u lipidnoj nanočestici. Dakle, imamo sloj lipida i unutra se nalazi RNA. Kada to uđe u stanicu, stanica će stvoriti protein koji je inače dio virusa, dakle u organizam ne unosimo nikakav dio virusa nego samo uputu da nastane jedan protein virusa na koji naše tijelo reagira."
Mitovi o koronavirusu
Osvrnula se i na brojne mitove koji se vežu uz cjepivo protiv covida-19, poput toga da će cjepivo mijenjati genetski kod ili da je cjepivo povezano s abortiranim fetusnim stanicama.
"Kod ovog cjepiva ni jedna ni druga tvrdnja ne drže vodu, to je jednostavno nemoguće. Znamo da je DNA smještena u jezgri, ona se prepisuje u RNA, koja dolazi u citoplazmu. Mi samo radimo taj korak da unosimo RNA izravno u citoplazmu. Naša RNA koja dolazi cjepivom neće doći do jezgre, ne može promijeniti naš genom i ne može utjecati ni na što jer je to nestabilna molekula koja će biti u našim stanicama samo dva ili tri dana, obaviti svoj posao i onda će nestati", rekla je i dodala:
"Ovo cjepivo je prvo takve vrste koje uopće ne proizvodi u stanicama niti u staničnoj kulturi, sinteza je kemijska, sve se događa in vitro, dakle u tubicama i nema doticaja sa živim stanicama."
Ljudi ne razumiju osnove cjepiva
Pojasnila i zašto je na svom Facebook profilu objasnila razliku između genetskog cjepiva i cjepiva druge vrste te je pozvala građane da je pitaju ono što im nije jasno vezano uz cjepivo.
"Bila sam frustrirana jer velik dio javnosti ne želi primiti cjepivo, a ljudi uopće ne znaju o čemu se radi, ne razumiju osnove ovog cjepiva. Htjela sam razriješiti taj misterij i vidjeti što našu populaciju muči te im pružiti odgovore na to", poručila je Trepotec.

Hrvatska znanstvenica Željka Trepotec, molekularna biologinja koja radi u Munchenu, gostovala je u N1 Studiju uživo gdje je govorila o cjepivu protiv koronavirusa koje se temelji na glasničkoj RNA, piše N1.
"Ova vrsta cjepiva temeljena na glasničkoj RNA bazira se na tome da se u naš organizam unosi samo uputa koju mi dajemo stanicama koje dalje stvaraju proteine na bazi kojeg naš organizam dalje stvara imunitet. Što se tiče običnih cjepiva, najčešće se koriste oslabljeni virusi ili živi virusi koji se unose u naš organizam i na koje naše tijelo stječe imunitet", pojasnila je Trepotec.
No, u javnosti postoji određeni otpor prema cijepljenju protiv koronavirusa, a Trepotec smatra da je jedan od razloga za to i nedostatak informacija.
Potrebno informirati građane
"Svjedoci smo da dio hrvatske populacije ima strah vezan za ovo cjepivo, vjerojatno do toga dolazi jer je to novo cjepivo, prvo takve vrste da je odobreno, nisu upoznati s tim načinom molekularne biologije koja stoji iza toga, a vjerujem da dio problema leži i u nedostatku informacija. Hrvatska javnost nije pravovremeno informirana, nije dobila kvalitetne podatke na čemu se cjepivo temelji i kako funkcionira i to je temeljni problem", kazala je.
Trepotec je detaljno objasnila i što će točno osoba unijeti u organizam kada se cijepi protiv koronavirusa.
"Osoba koja će primiti cjepivo protiv koronavirusa ove vrste primit će RNA, dakle ribonukleinsku kiselinu koja je upakirana u lipidnoj nanočestici. Dakle, imamo sloj lipida i unutra se nalazi RNA. Kada to uđe u stanicu, stanica će stvoriti protein koji je inače dio virusa, dakle u organizam ne unosimo nikakav dio virusa nego samo uputu da nastane jedan protein virusa na koji naše tijelo reagira."
Mitovi o koronavirusu
Osvrnula se i na brojne mitove koji se vežu uz cjepivo protiv covida-19, poput toga da će cjepivo mijenjati genetski kod ili da je cjepivo povezano s abortiranim fetusnim stanicama.
"Kod ovog cjepiva ni jedna ni druga tvrdnja ne drže vodu, to je jednostavno nemoguće. Znamo da je DNA smještena u jezgri, ona se prepisuje u RNA, koja dolazi u citoplazmu. Mi samo radimo taj korak da unosimo RNA izravno u citoplazmu. Naša RNA koja dolazi cjepivom neće doći do jezgre, ne može promijeniti naš genom i ne može utjecati ni na što jer je to nestabilna molekula koja će biti u našim stanicama samo dva ili tri dana, obaviti svoj posao i onda će nestati", rekla je i dodala:
"Ovo cjepivo je prvo takve vrste koje uopće ne proizvodi u stanicama niti u staničnoj kulturi, sinteza je kemijska, sve se događa in vitro, dakle u tubicama i nema doticaja sa živim stanicama."
Ljudi ne razumiju osnove cjepiva
Pojasnila i zašto je na svom Facebook profilu objasnila razliku između genetskog cjepiva i cjepiva druge vrste te je pozvala građane da je pitaju ono što im nije jasno vezano uz cjepivo.
"Bila sam frustrirana jer velik dio javnosti ne želi primiti cjepivo, a ljudi uopće ne znaju o čemu se radi, ne razumiju osnove ovog cjepiva. Htjela sam razriješiti taj misterij i vidjeti što našu populaciju muči te im pružiti odgovore na to", poručila je Trepotec.
