Hrvatski znanstvenik i molekularni biolog prof. dr. sc. Gordan Lauc u posljednjoj je objavi na Facebooku prokomentirao testiranja oboljelih na koronaviurs u državi New York.
Prema podacima koje prenosi, više od 40% ljudi bilo je u kontaktu s koronavirusom. Čak i uz tako visoku zaraženost populacije, broj hospitalizacija je u padu i čini se da su "odradili" najgori dio epidemije, piše naš znanstvenik. Tvrdi kako bismo sada konačno mogli izračunati i kako bi izgledao najcrnji scenarij u Hrvatskoj, što bi značajno moglo oblikovati i situaciju koja nas u državi čeka na jesen.

"Vrijeme je da otvorimo šampanjac!
Konačno je došla jedna doista dobra vijest iz Amerike. Najveći problem u ovoj pandemiji je bio to što smo imali nevidljivog neprijatelja kojeg uopće nismo poznavali. Zapanjeno smo gledali kako sjever Italije zapada u potpuni kaos u kojem se broj teško bolesnih i mrtvih udeseterostručuje svakih 7-8 dana, a najgore je bilo to što nitko nije znao hoće li taj broj porasti 10, 100 ili 1000 puta.
U zadnje vrijeme pristižu rezultati različitih studija koje pokazuju da broj zaraženih daleko veći no što smo mislili, te da su teško bolesni i umrli zapravo samo vrh ledenjaka koji nismo vidjeli. Sve te studije bile su donekle manjkave, pa smo se svi bojali biti optimistični, no sada se konačno pojavila jedna koja u sebi sadrži jednu bitnu kontrolu iz koje možemo izvući dosta važne i jasne zaključke.
Dakle u državi New York su proveli veliko serološko testiranje koje je pokazalo da u gradu New Yorku preko 20% ljudi ima protutijela na SARS-CoV-2, tj. da su došli u kontakt s virusom i na njega uspješno razvili protutijela (koja bi ih u većoj ili manjoj mjeri morala štiti od buduće infekcije). Slične rezultate dale su i neke druge studije, no tada smo se svi brinuli da bi ti pozitivni rezultati testova možda mogli biti lažno pozitivni, jer su ljudi imali protutijela na neke druge koronaviruse (koji uzrokuju obične prehlade). Nakon ove studije smo sigurni da to nije tako, budući da je u istoj studiji postotak pozitivnih u nekim drugim dijelovima države New York bio svega nešto preko 3% (a nije za očekivati da drugi koronavirusi koji su tu već godinama, imaju toliko različitu rasprostranjenost).
Ako u gradu New York 20% ljudi ima protutijela, to znači da su oni bili zaraženi negdje pred najmanje desetak dana. Istraživanja su pokazala da ne razvijaju svi zaraženi protutijela, tako da je pred desetak dana bilo zaraženo barem 25-30% ljudi u New Yorku. Do danas se infekcija još nešto proširila, tako da je možda čak i 40-50% ljudi u New Yorku došlo u kontakt s virusom. Čak i uz tako visoku zaraženost populacije, broj hospitalizacija je u padu i čini se da su „odradili“ najgori dio epidemije.
Što to znači za Hrvatsku?
Na temelju ovih podataka iz New Yorka, sada možemo dosta pouzdano izračunati kako bi izgledao najcrnji scenarij u Hrvatskoj. To znači da mudrim upravljanjem epidemijom možemo osigurati da do razine od skoro 50% zaraženih do koje je New York došao u dva mjeseca mi dođemo u 8-10 mjeseci i tako izbjegnemo veliki drugi (tj. kod nas prvi) val epidemije na jesen. Kako to točno postići je nešto što će epidemiolozi trebati dobro isplanirati, no sada barem dosta pouzdano znamo što je gornja granica štete koju ovaj virus može napraviti. Naravno postoje još neke nepoznanice, no ona je ipak znatno niža od onoga što smo se pribojavali i zato je vrijeme da otvorimo šampanjac. Nije još sve gotovo, no izlazak iz tunela sada ipak dosta jasno vidimo", stoji u objavi.

Hrvatski znanstvenik i molekularni biolog prof. dr. sc. Gordan Lauc u posljednjoj je objavi na Facebooku prokomentirao testiranja oboljelih na koronaviurs u državi New York.
Prema podacima koje prenosi, više od 40% ljudi bilo je u kontaktu s koronavirusom. Čak i uz tako visoku zaraženost populacije, broj hospitalizacija je u padu i čini se da su "odradili" najgori dio epidemije, piše naš znanstvenik. Tvrdi kako bismo sada konačno mogli izračunati i kako bi izgledao najcrnji scenarij u Hrvatskoj, što bi značajno moglo oblikovati i situaciju koja nas u državi čeka na jesen.

"Vrijeme je da otvorimo šampanjac!
Konačno je došla jedna doista dobra vijest iz Amerike. Najveći problem u ovoj pandemiji je bio to što smo imali nevidljivog neprijatelja kojeg uopće nismo poznavali. Zapanjeno smo gledali kako sjever Italije zapada u potpuni kaos u kojem se broj teško bolesnih i mrtvih udeseterostručuje svakih 7-8 dana, a najgore je bilo to što nitko nije znao hoće li taj broj porasti 10, 100 ili 1000 puta.
U zadnje vrijeme pristižu rezultati različitih studija koje pokazuju da broj zaraženih daleko veći no što smo mislili, te da su teško bolesni i umrli zapravo samo vrh ledenjaka koji nismo vidjeli. Sve te studije bile su donekle manjkave, pa smo se svi bojali biti optimistični, no sada se konačno pojavila jedna koja u sebi sadrži jednu bitnu kontrolu iz koje možemo izvući dosta važne i jasne zaključke.
Dakle u državi New York su proveli veliko serološko testiranje koje je pokazalo da u gradu New Yorku preko 20% ljudi ima protutijela na SARS-CoV-2, tj. da su došli u kontakt s virusom i na njega uspješno razvili protutijela (koja bi ih u većoj ili manjoj mjeri morala štiti od buduće infekcije). Slične rezultate dale su i neke druge studije, no tada smo se svi brinuli da bi ti pozitivni rezultati testova možda mogli biti lažno pozitivni, jer su ljudi imali protutijela na neke druge koronaviruse (koji uzrokuju obične prehlade). Nakon ove studije smo sigurni da to nije tako, budući da je u istoj studiji postotak pozitivnih u nekim drugim dijelovima države New York bio svega nešto preko 3% (a nije za očekivati da drugi koronavirusi koji su tu već godinama, imaju toliko različitu rasprostranjenost).
Ako u gradu New York 20% ljudi ima protutijela, to znači da su oni bili zaraženi negdje pred najmanje desetak dana. Istraživanja su pokazala da ne razvijaju svi zaraženi protutijela, tako da je pred desetak dana bilo zaraženo barem 25-30% ljudi u New Yorku. Do danas se infekcija još nešto proširila, tako da je možda čak i 40-50% ljudi u New Yorku došlo u kontakt s virusom. Čak i uz tako visoku zaraženost populacije, broj hospitalizacija je u padu i čini se da su „odradili“ najgori dio epidemije.
Što to znači za Hrvatsku?
Na temelju ovih podataka iz New Yorka, sada možemo dosta pouzdano izračunati kako bi izgledao najcrnji scenarij u Hrvatskoj. To znači da mudrim upravljanjem epidemijom možemo osigurati da do razine od skoro 50% zaraženih do koje je New York došao u dva mjeseca mi dođemo u 8-10 mjeseci i tako izbjegnemo veliki drugi (tj. kod nas prvi) val epidemije na jesen. Kako to točno postići je nešto što će epidemiolozi trebati dobro isplanirati, no sada barem dosta pouzdano znamo što je gornja granica štete koju ovaj virus može napraviti. Naravno postoje još neke nepoznanice, no ona je ipak znatno niža od onoga što smo se pribojavali i zato je vrijeme da otvorimo šampanjac. Nije još sve gotovo, no izlazak iz tunela sada ipak dosta jasno vidimo", stoji u objavi.
