Čekam, čekam, i siguran sam da neću još dugo čekati. A što to? Da Plenković ili netko od njegovih lutaka na navijanje kaže kako je Hrvatska zemlja prosperiteta u koju iz dana u dan stižu deseci, stotine, uskoro će i tisuće ljudi u potrazi za boljom budućnosti. Čudim se kako to još nitko nije ozaren izustio. To prije što je trend doseljavanja ljudi s dalekih meridijana uhvatio veći zamah u Zagrebu nego igdje drugdje.

Nedavno sam proveo dvije noći u novom, lijepom zagrebačkom hotelu čije su sve sobarice govorile ne naročito tečan, vrlo rudimentaran, ali ipak upotrebljiv engleski jezik. Pa što onda? – mogao bi mi sada netko odbrusiti, Dalmacija je puna sobarica koje se služe engleskim jezikom, a neke, možda i mnoge među njima, imaju bogat vokabular i vrlo pristojan naglasak.

Da, ali ove naše služe se i hrvatskim, i to u pravilu odlično, jer se radi o domaćim ženama. Personal, pak, zagrebačkog hotela uvezen je nekamo iz Azije, što je, pretpostavljam, sjajna vijest za goste s Dalekog istoka, koji, eto, u hladnom, maglovitom Agramu mogu čuti toplu domaću riječ kad ih spopadne bolećiva nostalgija, ali nije baš najbolja za, recimo, naš svijet koji ne razumije ni to malo engleskog kojim se služe nasmiješene, drage djevojke iz Azije.

Ponižavajući novac

Upitate li koga što one rade tisućama kilometara daleko od kuće, reći će vam kako su pristale obavljati poslove kojima se Hrvati ne žele baviti. Krivo, ne može biti krivlje! Isti taj klišej već se desetljećima može čuti na europskome sjeverozapadu, kad god se traži odgovor na pitanje zašto se useljenici u Švedsku ili Njemačku bave nepopularnim zanimanjima.

Zato što Šveđani ili Nijemci više ne žele prljati ruke poslovima koji uključuju puno fizičkog rada i malo ili nimalo prilika za društvenu afirmaciju. Ali ne, stvar je samo u tome da to Šveđani ili Nijemci (već desetljećima) ne žele činiti za male pare, pa moraju uvesti radnike s bitno nižim pragom očekivanja svega, od para i prestiža do sigurnosti i komoditeta.

Nešto slično tome počelo se događati i nama. Zato i očekujem da se netko od visokopozicioniranih hadezeovaca konačno odvaži svečano izustiti kako to svjedoči da nam domovina toliko lijepo napreduje da su o njoj kao o obećanoj zemlji počeli maštati ljudi s drugog kraja zemaljske kugle.

Naravno, takav bi zaključak bio potpuno promašen. Jer, niti smo se mi kao narod do te mjere razmazili da više ne želimo prljati ruke, niti je igdje na svijetu fiksirana i raširena predodžba o nama kao o europskom Eldoradu. Stvar je samo u tome da sve manje naših ljudi pristaje raditi teške, nepopularne poslove za bijedan, ponižavajući novac s kojim se ne može živjeti, a da prag očaja nije univerzalna, svima jednaka kategorija.

Ono što mi prepoznajemo kao tešku oskudicu, drugima, nesretnijima od nas, može biti razlog za veselje. Nekima, ustvari mnogima, čak i mi smo zapad i sjever za kojim toliko žude. No, ta činjenica ništa ne govori o našemu bogatstvu, samo o njihovu siromaštvu.

Konačno, zadnjih mjeseci isti se trend priljeva stranih radnika koji pristaju na sve ne događa samo nama. Ne dostavljaju Nepalci samo Hrvatima pizze, hamburgere ili kutije s kineskom spizom iz woka, nego i, recimo, Beograđanima. A tko je lud o Srbiji razmišljati kao o zemlji kojom teku med i mlijeko?! Pa ipak, i tamo kao osice zuje biciklisti s velikim, kabastim kutijama na kojima piše Wolt, Glovo ili Bolt, i sve ih je više koji ne znaju beknuti ni riječ srpskoga.

Bratstvo budaletina

Eto, postali smo svijet, zadovoljno će podvući naši hadezeovci, njihovi srbijanski parnjaci i, općenito, budaletine s obje strane granice. Jedina je nevolja u tome što nismo niti ćemo. Ovakav razvoj situacije samo će stvoriti pretpostavke za klijanje rasizma. Dokle god se nečiji položaj na društvenoj ljestvici temelji na rasi, odnosno etničkom porijeklu, rasizmu se ne može uteći.

A samo nam je još on falio. Kao da i prije njega nismo raspolagali dugom i bogatom tradicijom preziranja drugih i drukčijih, čak i kad oni uopće nisu drugi i drukčiji, jer govore isti jezik kao i mi, i možemo se s njima razumjeti bez posredničke usluge Googleova prevoditelja.

Stare mržnje mogle bi se pokazati kao plodno tlo za uzgajanje novih, koje ćemo njegovati prema svježe pristiglim susjedima tamnije boje kože koji zarađuju manje od nas, žive u kudikamo gorim uvjetima, i bez prevelike su – ako ikakve! – šanse da promijene svoj egzistencijalni položaj. Neće dugo trebati da gori među nama izvedu zaključak kako je jad u kojemu ti ljudi žive tobože neizbježna posljedica njihove hereditarne inferiornosti. I eto nas u čistom, destiliranom i procijeđenom rasizmu iz školskih udžbenika.

Čekam, čekam, i siguran sam da neću još dugo čekati. A što to? Da Plenković ili netko od njegovih lutaka na navijanje kaže kako je Hrvatska zemlja prosperiteta u koju iz dana u dan stižu deseci, stotine, uskoro će i tisuće ljudi u potrazi za boljom budućnosti. Čudim se kako to još nitko nije ozaren izustio. To prije što je trend doseljavanja ljudi s dalekih meridijana uhvatio veći zamah u Zagrebu nego igdje drugdje.

Nedavno sam proveo dvije noći u novom, lijepom zagrebačkom hotelu čije su sve sobarice govorile ne naročito tečan, vrlo rudimentaran, ali ipak upotrebljiv engleski jezik. Pa što onda? – mogao bi mi sada netko odbrusiti, Dalmacija je puna sobarica koje se služe engleskim jezikom, a neke, možda i mnoge među njima, imaju bogat vokabular i vrlo pristojan naglasak.

Da, ali ove naše služe se i hrvatskim, i to u pravilu odlično, jer se radi o domaćim ženama. Personal, pak, zagrebačkog hotela uvezen je nekamo iz Azije, što je, pretpostavljam, sjajna vijest za goste s Dalekog istoka, koji, eto, u hladnom, maglovitom Agramu mogu čuti toplu domaću riječ kad ih spopadne bolećiva nostalgija, ali nije baš najbolja za, recimo, naš svijet koji ne razumije ni to malo engleskog kojim se služe nasmiješene, drage djevojke iz Azije.

Ponižavajući novac

Upitate li koga što one rade tisućama kilometara daleko od kuće, reći će vam kako su pristale obavljati poslove kojima se Hrvati ne žele baviti. Krivo, ne može biti krivlje! Isti taj klišej već se desetljećima može čuti na europskome sjeverozapadu, kad god se traži odgovor na pitanje zašto se useljenici u Švedsku ili Njemačku bave nepopularnim zanimanjima.

Zato što Šveđani ili Nijemci više ne žele prljati ruke poslovima koji uključuju puno fizičkog rada i malo ili nimalo prilika za društvenu afirmaciju. Ali ne, stvar je samo u tome da to Šveđani ili Nijemci (već desetljećima) ne žele činiti za male pare, pa moraju uvesti radnike s bitno nižim pragom očekivanja svega, od para i prestiža do sigurnosti i komoditeta.

Nešto slično tome počelo se događati i nama. Zato i očekujem da se netko od visokopozicioniranih hadezeovaca konačno odvaži svečano izustiti kako to svjedoči da nam domovina toliko lijepo napreduje da su o njoj kao o obećanoj zemlji počeli maštati ljudi s drugog kraja zemaljske kugle.

Naravno, takav bi zaključak bio potpuno promašen. Jer, niti smo se mi kao narod do te mjere razmazili da više ne želimo prljati ruke, niti je igdje na svijetu fiksirana i raširena predodžba o nama kao o europskom Eldoradu. Stvar je samo u tome da sve manje naših ljudi pristaje raditi teške, nepopularne poslove za bijedan, ponižavajući novac s kojim se ne može živjeti, a da prag očaja nije univerzalna, svima jednaka kategorija.

Ono što mi prepoznajemo kao tešku oskudicu, drugima, nesretnijima od nas, može biti razlog za veselje. Nekima, ustvari mnogima, čak i mi smo zapad i sjever za kojim toliko žude. No, ta činjenica ništa ne govori o našemu bogatstvu, samo o njihovu siromaštvu.

Konačno, zadnjih mjeseci isti se trend priljeva stranih radnika koji pristaju na sve ne događa samo nama. Ne dostavljaju Nepalci samo Hrvatima pizze, hamburgere ili kutije s kineskom spizom iz woka, nego i, recimo, Beograđanima. A tko je lud o Srbiji razmišljati kao o zemlji kojom teku med i mlijeko?! Pa ipak, i tamo kao osice zuje biciklisti s velikim, kabastim kutijama na kojima piše Wolt, Glovo ili Bolt, i sve ih je više koji ne znaju beknuti ni riječ srpskoga.

Bratstvo budaletina

Eto, postali smo svijet, zadovoljno će podvući naši hadezeovci, njihovi srbijanski parnjaci i, općenito, budaletine s obje strane granice. Jedina je nevolja u tome što nismo niti ćemo. Ovakav razvoj situacije samo će stvoriti pretpostavke za klijanje rasizma. Dokle god se nečiji položaj na društvenoj ljestvici temelji na rasi, odnosno etničkom porijeklu, rasizmu se ne može uteći.

A samo nam je još on falio. Kao da i prije njega nismo raspolagali dugom i bogatom tradicijom preziranja drugih i drukčijih, čak i kad oni uopće nisu drugi i drukčiji, jer govore isti jezik kao i mi, i možemo se s njima razumjeti bez posredničke usluge Googleova prevoditelja.

Stare mržnje mogle bi se pokazati kao plodno tlo za uzgajanje novih, koje ćemo njegovati prema svježe pristiglim susjedima tamnije boje kože koji zarađuju manje od nas, žive u kudikamo gorim uvjetima, i bez prevelike su – ako ikakve! – šanse da promijene svoj egzistencijalni položaj. Neće dugo trebati da gori među nama izvedu zaključak kako je jad u kojemu ti ljudi žive tobože neizbježna posljedica njihove hereditarne inferiornosti. I eto nas u čistom, destiliranom i procijeđenom rasizmu iz školskih udžbenika.
