U nepunih osam mjeseci Bianca Andreescu prešla je put od 152. do 14. tenisačice svijeta, od anonimnosti do dvostruke osvajačice jakih turnira i cure od koje cijeli svijet strahuje.
Mnogo je takvih priča bilo u ženskom tenisu. Znate ono, mlada cura rapidno uzleti pa se onda negdje pogubi, nestane... Andreescu, međutim, još uvijek leti prema vrhu, a njezina je priča specifična. Drukčija.
Tek devetnaestogodišnja Kanađanka osvojila je domaći turnir u Torontu nakon što joj je Serena Williams predala nakon četiri gema (Andreescu je vodila 3:1) i time se probila na 14. mjesto svjetskog poretka, što joj je najbolji plasman karijere. Na početku godine bila je praktički nepoznata, iako se znalo da je talentirana, a sada je jedna od glavnih favoritkinja za nadolazeći US Open.
Andreescu je očito djevojka za velike stvari jer je do sada osvojila dva WTA turnira i to oba s gotovo najviše razine. Prvo u ožujku ove godine Indian Wells (Premier Mandatory), a sada Toronto (Premier 5), čime je postala prva kanadska pobjednica Rogers Cupa od 1969. godine.
Da stvar bude intrigantnija, Andreescu je ove sezone nastupila na svega osam turnira, od čega je na četiri došla do finala. Indian Wells i Toronto je, dakle, osvojila, baš kao i 125-icu u Newportu, dok je u Aucklandu na samom startu sezone izgubila meč za naslov.
Nadalje, Andreescu zbog problema s ramenom nije igrala od Roland Garrosa gdje je bez borbe predala meč drugog kola. Preskočila je kompletnu travnatu sezonu, no kako vidimo, pronašla je formu iz prvog dijela sezone. U nizu je od 17 pobjeda ako ne računamo tu predaju bez borbe u Parizu, ali i predaju Kontaveit u Miamiju.
Agresivna s osnovne linije, Andreescu je i raznovrsna u igri. Ima varijaciju. Zapravo, za svoje godine igra vrlo zrelo, a ključ možda leži u meditaciji.
- Spominjala sam to često na Indian Wellsu. Mnogi rade samo na fizičkom planu i zaborave na psihu, no u zbilji mozak kontrolira vaše tijelo. Ako ste psihički snažni, možete pronaći druge izvore da gurate tijelo ako stvari ne idu vašim smjerom – objašnjava Andreescu.
Rumunjska je zemlja njezinih roditelja pa ne čudi što joj je teniski uzor Simona Halep. Upravo je roditeljima posvetila titulu u Torontu, gradu u kojem i živi.
Da Andreescu pripada svjetskom vrhu, ne pokazuje samo pogled na ljestvicu, već i njezine impresivne pobjede ove sezone. Recimo samo ovo: ima 7-0 protiv tenisačica iz Top 10, a pobjeđivala je: Karolinu Pliškovu, Kerber (dva puta), Muguruzu, Svitolinu, Wozniacki, Venus Williams, Bertens... E, da. Ove sezone ima omjer pobjeda i poraza, ne računajući predaje, 38-4!
I eto, sad čeka US Open na kojem se probila u krug onih koji se s punim pravom nadaju trofeju. Ako je to lani mogla Naomi Osaka, može i Bianca Andreescu.

U nepunih osam mjeseci Bianca Andreescu prešla je put od 152. do 14. tenisačice svijeta, od anonimnosti do dvostruke osvajačice jakih turnira i cure od koje cijeli svijet strahuje.
Mnogo je takvih priča bilo u ženskom tenisu. Znate ono, mlada cura rapidno uzleti pa se onda negdje pogubi, nestane... Andreescu, međutim, još uvijek leti prema vrhu, a njezina je priča specifična. Drukčija.
Tek devetnaestogodišnja Kanađanka osvojila je domaći turnir u Torontu nakon što joj je Serena Williams predala nakon četiri gema (Andreescu je vodila 3:1) i time se probila na 14. mjesto svjetskog poretka, što joj je najbolji plasman karijere. Na početku godine bila je praktički nepoznata, iako se znalo da je talentirana, a sada je jedna od glavnih favoritkinja za nadolazeći US Open.
Andreescu je očito djevojka za velike stvari jer je do sada osvojila dva WTA turnira i to oba s gotovo najviše razine. Prvo u ožujku ove godine Indian Wells (Premier Mandatory), a sada Toronto (Premier 5), čime je postala prva kanadska pobjednica Rogers Cupa od 1969. godine.
Da stvar bude intrigantnija, Andreescu je ove sezone nastupila na svega osam turnira, od čega je na četiri došla do finala. Indian Wells i Toronto je, dakle, osvojila, baš kao i 125-icu u Newportu, dok je u Aucklandu na samom startu sezone izgubila meč za naslov.
Nadalje, Andreescu zbog problema s ramenom nije igrala od Roland Garrosa gdje je bez borbe predala meč drugog kola. Preskočila je kompletnu travnatu sezonu, no kako vidimo, pronašla je formu iz prvog dijela sezone. U nizu je od 17 pobjeda ako ne računamo tu predaju bez borbe u Parizu, ali i predaju Kontaveit u Miamiju.
Agresivna s osnovne linije, Andreescu je i raznovrsna u igri. Ima varijaciju. Zapravo, za svoje godine igra vrlo zrelo, a ključ možda leži u meditaciji.
- Spominjala sam to često na Indian Wellsu. Mnogi rade samo na fizičkom planu i zaborave na psihu, no u zbilji mozak kontrolira vaše tijelo. Ako ste psihički snažni, možete pronaći druge izvore da gurate tijelo ako stvari ne idu vašim smjerom – objašnjava Andreescu.
Rumunjska je zemlja njezinih roditelja pa ne čudi što joj je teniski uzor Simona Halep. Upravo je roditeljima posvetila titulu u Torontu, gradu u kojem i živi.
Da Andreescu pripada svjetskom vrhu, ne pokazuje samo pogled na ljestvicu, već i njezine impresivne pobjede ove sezone. Recimo samo ovo: ima 7-0 protiv tenisačica iz Top 10, a pobjeđivala je: Karolinu Pliškovu, Kerber (dva puta), Muguruzu, Svitolinu, Wozniacki, Venus Williams, Bertens... E, da. Ove sezone ima omjer pobjeda i poraza, ne računajući predaje, 38-4!
I eto, sad čeka US Open na kojem se probila u krug onih koji se s punim pravom nadaju trofeju. Ako je to lani mogla Naomi Osaka, može i Bianca Andreescu.
