Werderu je trebalo čudo da izbjegne direktno ispadanje iz Bundeslige nakon 39 godina, a mirakul se u zadnjem kolu i dogodio. Domaćom 6:1 pobjedom nad Kölnom u kombinaciji s 0:3 porazom Fortune kod Union Berlina momčad iz Bremena je za bod pretekla sastav iz Düsseldorfa i otela mu mjesto u dodatnim kvalifikacijama. Fortuna je ispala, kao i već otprije zadnji Paderborn.

Pred zadnje kolo pretposljednji 17. Werder imao je dva boda manje od Fortune na 16. mjestu koje je osiguravalo play off. Werderu je za play off trebala pobjeda nad Kölnom i poraz Fortune kod nezainteresiranog Uniona, a u slučaju da je Fortuna remizirala, slavlje od barem četiri gola jer bi se u slučaju istog broja bodova gledala ukupna gol razlika. A do jučer Werder čak deset mjeseci nije pobijedio kod kuće. Nanizali su 14 ogleda na Weseru bez pobjede, od toga 11 poraza!

No, Werder je slavio s čak 6:1, a Fortuna nije imala sreće, poražena je 0:3. S ukupno dvije pobjede kod kuće u sezoni Werder (još) nije ispao. Za ostanak će razigravati s trećeplasiranim sastavom 2. Werderu je trebalo čudo da izbjegne direktno ispadanje iz Bundeslige nakon 39 godina, a mirakul se u zadnjem kolu i dogodio. Domaćom 6:1 pobjedom nad Kölnom u kombinaciji s 0:3 porazom Fortune kod Union Berlina momčad iz Bremena je za bod pretekla sastav iz Düsseldorfa i otela mu mjesto u dodatnim kvalifikacijama. Fortuna je ispala, kao i već otprije zadnji Paderborn.

Pred zadnje kolo pretposljednji 17. Werder imao je dva boda manje od Fortune na 16. mjestu koje je osiguravalo play off. Werderu je za play off trebala pobjeda nad Kölnom i poraz Fortune kod nezainteresiranog Uniona, a u slučaju da je Fortuna remizirala, slavlje od barem četiri gola jer bi se u slučaju istog broja bodova gledala ukupna gol razlika. A do jučer Werder čak deset mjeseci nije pobijedio kod kuće. Nanizali su 14 ogleda na Weseru bez pobjede, od toga 11 poraza!

No, Werder je slavio s čak 6:1, a Fortuna nije imala sreće, poražena je 0:3. S ukupno dvije pobjede kod kuće u sezoni Werder (još) nije ispao. Za ostanak će razigravati s trećeplasiranim sastavom 2. Bundeslige. Protivnika će saznati danas, a to mogu biti Heidenheim ili HSV (teoretski i Stuttgart). Utakmice se igraju 2. i 6. srpnja, a prvom susretu domaćin će biti Werder.
