Igor Štimac produžio je ugovor s Nogometnim savezom Indije do 2025. pa bi, odradi li ga do kraja, izbornik reprezentacije najmnogoljudnije države svijeta trebao biti šest godina. Na klupi Indije koja ima više od 1,4 milijarde stanovnika Štimac je još od 2019. godine. Međutim, nije bivši hrvatski izbornik Štimac prvi trener koji u svom CV-u ima i vođenje Hajduka i reprezentacije Indije.

Prvi trener koji je vodio ‘bijele‘ i Indiju bio je Milovan Ćirić. Pokojni trener rođen u Beogradu u dva navrata bio je trener Hajduka. Prvi put momčad iz grada pod Marjanom vodio je dvije sezone u periodu od 1959. do 1961. godine, a u drugom mandatu u sezoni 1963/64. Na poziciji izbornika Indije Ćirić je bio od 1983. do 1985. godine.

U karijeri je Ćirić vodio i OFK Beograd, Partizan, Crvenu zvezdu, Lazio, Valenciju, bio je dvaput u stožeru reprezentacije Jugoslavije (i na SP-u 1974., uz Miljana Miljanića, Tomislava Ivića i ostale)... Preminuo je 1986. u dobi od 68 godina.

Na klupi Indije koja ima više od 1,4 milijarde stanovnika Štimac je još od 2019. godine. Međutim, nije bivši hrvatski izbornik Štimac prvi trener koji u svom CV-u ima i vođenje Hajduka i reprezentacije Indije.

Prvi trener koji je vodio ‘bijele‘ i Indiju bio je Milovan Ćirić. Pokojni trener rođen u Beogradu u dva navrata bio je trener Hajduka. Prvi put momčad iz grada pod Marjanom vodio je dvije sezone u periodu od 1959. do 1961. godine, a u drugom mandatu u sezoni 1963/64. Na poziciji izbornika Indije Ćirić je bio od 1983. do 1985. godine.

U karijeri je Ćirić vodio i OFK Beograd, Partizan, Crvenu zvezdu, Lazio, Valenciju, bio je dvaput u stožeru reprezentacije Jugoslavije (i na SP-u 1974., uz Miljana Miljanića, Tomislava Ivića i ostale)... Preminuo je 1986. u dobi od 68 godina.

Igor Štimac produžio je ugovor s Nogometnim savezom Indije do 2025. pa bi, odradi li ga do kraja, izbornik reprezentacije najmnogoljudnije države svijeta trebao biti šest godina.
