Proslava dana grada Splita nadolazećeg će vikenda ponovno biti obogaćena za sportski spektakl koji će okupiti ponajbolje sveučilišne osmerce iz cijele Europe na 22. izdanju Međunarodne veslačke regate Sveti Duje.
Ovaj tradicionalan događaj s korijenima u davnoj 1825. godini, redovito se odvija preko dva desetljeća, a obuhvaća utrku sveučilišnih osmeraca na regatnoj stazi u Spinutu, koja će se održati u subotu, 11. svibnja prijepodne, dok je nedjelja rezervirana za revijalnu utrku veslačkih legendi Oxford-a, Cambridge-a i Splita, koja će se prema običaju održati u splitskoj luci.
Ovogodišnje izdanje Regate okupilo je respektabilnu konkurenciju koju čine 22 posade, od čega 14 muških i 8 ženskih, a nastupit će predstavnici sveučilišta iz Estonije, Njemačke, Poljske, Srbije i Ujedinjenog Kraljevstva, među kojima svakako vrijedi istaknuti posade kao što su Aachen, Cambridge, Imperial, Jagiellonian i Oxford, dok će hrvatske boje braniti predstavnici sveučilišta iz Rijeke, Splita i Zagreba.

U sklopu programa regate, 11. svibnja će se održati i panel naziva “Lessons from the Boat”, koji govori o dualnim karijerama, odnosno izazovima i postignućima bivših veslača i olimpijaca, koji su ostvarili značajne rezultate na svjetskoj i olimpijskoj pozornici, ali i na akademskom te profesionalnom polju.
Ove će godine govoriti bivši kormilar Cambridge-a i sportski komentator BBC-ja, Matthew Holland, koji radi u Centru za otkriće lijekova na Sveučilištu Oxford. Međunarodna veslačka regata Sveti Duje održava se pod patronatom krovne europske organizacije studentskog sporta – Europskog akademskog sportskog saveza (EUSA), a ta je poveznica od nedavno još snažnija kako je Split proglašen za domaćina Europskim sveučilišnim igrama 2028. godine, na kojima će se održavati i veslačka natjecanja.

Proslava dana grada Splita nadolazećeg će vikenda ponovno biti obogaćena za sportski spektakl koji će okupiti ponajbolje sveučilišne osmerce iz cijele Europe na 22. izdanju Međunarodne veslačke regate Sveti Duje.
Ovaj tradicionalan događaj s korijenima u davnoj 1825. godini, redovito se odvija preko dva desetljeća, a obuhvaća utrku sveučilišnih osmeraca na regatnoj stazi u Spinutu, koja će se održati u subotu, 11. svibnja prijepodne, dok je nedjelja rezervirana za revijalnu utrku veslačkih legendi Oxford-a, Cambridge-a i Splita, koja će se prema običaju održati u splitskoj luci.
Ovogodišnje izdanje Regate okupilo je respektabilnu konkurenciju koju čine 22 posade, od čega 14 muških i 8 ženskih, a nastupit će predstavnici sveučilišta iz Estonije, Njemačke, Poljske, Srbije i Ujedinjenog Kraljevstva, među kojima svakako vrijedi istaknuti posade kao što su Aachen, Cambridge, Imperial, Jagiellonian i Oxford, dok će hrvatske boje braniti predstavnici sveučilišta iz Rijeke, Splita i Zagreba.

U sklopu programa regate, 11. svibnja će se održati i panel naziva “Lessons from the Boat”, koji govori o dualnim karijerama, odnosno izazovima i postignućima bivših veslača i olimpijaca, koji su ostvarili značajne rezultate na svjetskoj i olimpijskoj pozornici, ali i na akademskom te profesionalnom polju.
Ove će godine govoriti bivši kormilar Cambridge-a i sportski komentator BBC-ja, Matthew Holland, koji radi u Centru za otkriće lijekova na Sveučilištu Oxford. Međunarodna veslačka regata Sveti Duje održava se pod patronatom krovne europske organizacije studentskog sporta – Europskog akademskog sportskog saveza (EUSA), a ta je poveznica od nedavno još snažnija kako je Split proglašen za domaćina Europskim sveučilišnim igrama 2028. godine, na kojima će se održavati i veslačka natjecanja.
