U Melbourneu počinje nova sezona Formule 1. U 70. sezoni vozit će se 21 utrka, koliko ih je bilo i prošle sezone, a sudjelovat će deset momčadi - Mercedes, Ferrari, Alfa Romeo, Haas, McLaren, Racing Point, Red Bull, Renault, Toro Rosso i Williams. 

Posljednjih pet sezona Formulom 1 dominira Mercedes i njegovi vozači. Britanac Lewis Hamilton je sa Mercedesom osvojio četiri naslova (2014, 2015, 2017, 2018), a Nijemac Nico Rosberg jedan (2016).

No, na testiranjima uoči nove sezone Ferrari je bio najbrži, pa se prvi vozač Ferrarija Sebastian Vettel nada da bi napokon mogao prekinuti dominaciju Mercedesa. Posljednji naslov Ferrariju donio je Finac Kimi Raikkonen 2007. godine.
 
Nakon 33 godine u Formulu 1 se vraća Alfa Romeo, koji je osvojio prva dva naslova, 1950. (Giuseppe Farina) i 1951. (Juan Manuel Fangio). Za Alfu će voziti bivši svjetski prvak Kimi Raikkonen i Talijan Antonio Giovinazzi, a bolid će pokretati Ferrarijev motor.

Također, u Formulu 1 vratio se poljski vozač Robert Kubica (34), koji je u veljači 2011., izvan sezone, doživio tešku nesreću na jednom reliju u Italiji i jedva je preživio. Uspio se oporaviti, tri je godine vozio reli, a u novoj sezoni Formule 1 vozit će za Williams. Kubica je u Formuli 1 debitirao 2006. i u 76 utrka 12 puta je bio na postolju, a jedinu pobjedu ostvario je na VN Kanade 2008. godine.

Što se tiče promjena pravila izmijenjene su dimenzije prednjih i stražnjih krila, te je povećana zapremina spremnika za gorivo za 5 kg, na ukupnih 110 kg. To bi trebalo omogućiti da tijekom cijele utrke vozači idu punim gasom.   

Također, uveden je novi način obračuna mase bolida, odnosno utvrđena je minimalna težina vozača, koja treba iznositi 80 kg. Ako je vozač lakši u kokpit će biti stavljen balast kako bi se dosegla težina od 80 kg. To znači da vozači više neće morati biti na dijeti, jer su dosad konstruktori manjak težine kod vozača mogli iskoristiti tako da postavljaju balaste na dijelovima bolida koji bi povećali njegove perfomanse.

U Melbourneu počinje nova sezona Formule 1. U 70. sezoni vozit će se 21 utrka, koliko ih je bilo i prošle sezone, a sudjelovat će deset momčadi - Mercedes, Ferrari, Alfa Romeo, Haas, McLaren, Racing Point, Red Bull, Renault, Toro Rosso i Williams. 

Posljednjih pet sezona Formulom 1 dominira Mercedes i njegovi vozači. Britanac Lewis Hamilton je sa Mercedesom osvojio četiri naslova (2014, 2015, 2017, 2018), a Nijemac Nico Rosberg jedan (2016).

No, na testiranjima uoči nove sezone Ferrari je bio najbrži, pa se prvi vozač Ferrarija Sebastian Vettel nada da bi napokon mogao prekinuti dominaciju Mercedesa. Posljednji naslov Ferrariju donio je Finac Kimi Raikkonen 2007. godine.
 
Nakon 33 godine u Formulu 1 se vraća Alfa Romeo, koji je osvojio prva dva naslova, 1950. (Giuseppe Farina) i 1951. (Juan Manuel Fangio). Za Alfu će voziti bivši svjetski prvak Kimi Raikkonen i Talijan Antonio Giovinazzi, a bolid će pokretati Ferrarijev motor.

Također, u Formulu 1 vratio se poljski vozač Robert Kubica (34), koji je u veljači 2011., izvan sezone, doživio tešku nesreću na jednom reliju u Italiji i jedva je preživio. Uspio se oporaviti, tri je godine vozio reli, a u novoj sezoni Formule 1 vozit će za Williams. Kubica je u Formuli 1 debitirao 2006. i u 76 utrka 12 puta je bio na postolju, a jedinu pobjedu ostvario je na VN Kanade 2008. godine.

Što se tiče promjena pravila izmijenjene su dimenzije prednjih i stražnjih krila, te je povećana zapremina spremnika za gorivo za 5 kg, na ukupnih 110 kg. To bi trebalo omogućiti da tijekom cijele utrke vozači idu punim gasom.   

Također, uveden je novi način obračuna mase bolida, odnosno utvrđena je minimalna težina vozača, koja treba iznositi 80 kg. Ako je vozač lakši u kokpit će biti stavljen balast kako bi se dosegla težina od 80 kg. To znači da vozači više neće morati biti na dijeti, jer su dosad konstruktori manjak težine kod vozača mogli iskoristiti tako da postavljaju balaste na dijelovima bolida koji bi povećali njegove perfomanse.
