Japanski premijer Shinzo Abe rekao je da će se Olimpijske igre u Tokiju održati prema planu u srpnju ove godine, unatoč zabrinutosti zbog koronavirusa koji je praktički paralizirao svijet.

"Prebrodit ćemo širenje zaraze i bit ćemo domaćin Olimpijskih igara kako je i planirano", rekao je Abe na konferenciji za novinare u Tokiju dodavši kako će konačnu odluku donijeti Međunarodni olimpijski odbor (MOO).

Japan ima više od 1.400 slučajeva zaraženih koronavirusom, a do sada je u toj zemlji umrlo 28 osoba.

"Japan ima relativno nisku stopu infekcije koronavirusom i nije doživio eksploziju u slučajevima kao što su Južna Koreja, Kina, Italija i Iran," dodao je japanski premijer.

Abe je dodao kako Japan ne treba proglasiti nacionalnu izvanrednu situaciju, iako je parlament u petak odobrio nacrt zakona kojim će mu se dati ovlasti za hitne slučajeve i omogućiti mu zatvaranje škola i zaustavljanja velikih okupljanja.

U četvrtak je u drevnoj Olimpiji zapaljena Olimpijska baklja što je zadnji korak prema Igrama koje bi se prema rasporedu trebale održati od 24. srpnja do 9. kolovoza ali su sada upitne zbog pandemije koronavirusa.

Glumica Xanthi Georgiou u ulozi vrhovne svećenice je na svečanosti u drevnoj Olimpiji bez gledatelja uz pomoć konkavnog zrcala i sunčeve svjetlosti zapalila baklju čime započinje njen put prema Tokiju.

Međutim, Grčki olimpijski odbor je u petak otkazao daljnje prenošenje olimpijskog plamena kroz državu kako bi se izbjegla okupljanja većeg broja ljudi što bi moglo povećati rizik od širenja zaraze.

Prema prvotnom planu baklja će biti predana organizatorima Igara u Tokiju na svečanosti u Ateni 19. ožujka, a japanski dio štafete baklja bi trebala započeti u Fukušimi 26. ožujka.

Japanski premijer Shinzo Abe rekao je da će se Olimpijske igre u Tokiju održati prema planu u srpnju ove godine, unatoč zabrinutosti zbog koronavirusa koji je praktički paralizirao svijet.

"Prebrodit ćemo širenje zaraze i bit ćemo domaćin Olimpijskih igara kako je i planirano", rekao je Abe na konferenciji za novinare u Tokiju dodavši kako će konačnu odluku donijeti Međunarodni olimpijski odbor (MOO).

Japan ima više od 1.400 slučajeva zaraženih koronavirusom, a do sada je u toj zemlji umrlo 28 osoba.

"Japan ima relativno nisku stopu infekcije koronavirusom i nije doživio eksploziju u slučajevima kao što su Južna Koreja, Kina, Italija i Iran," dodao je japanski premijer.

Abe je dodao kako Japan ne treba proglasiti nacionalnu izvanrednu situaciju, iako je parlament u petak odobrio nacrt zakona kojim će mu se dati ovlasti za hitne slučajeve i omogućiti mu zatvaranje škola i zaustavljanja velikih okupljanja.

U četvrtak je u drevnoj Olimpiji zapaljena Olimpijska baklja što je zadnji korak prema Igrama koje bi se prema rasporedu trebale održati od 24. srpnja do 9. kolovoza ali su sada upitne zbog pandemije koronavirusa.

Glumica Xanthi Georgiou u ulozi vrhovne svećenice je na svečanosti u drevnoj Olimpiji bez gledatelja uz pomoć konkavnog zrcala i sunčeve svjetlosti zapalila baklju čime započinje njen put prema Tokiju.

Međutim, Grčki olimpijski odbor je u petak otkazao daljnje prenošenje olimpijskog plamena kroz državu kako bi se izbjegla okupljanja većeg broja ljudi što bi moglo povećati rizik od širenja zaraze.

Prema prvotnom planu baklja će biti predana organizatorima Igara u Tokiju na svečanosti u Ateni 19. ožujka, a japanski dio štafete baklja bi trebala započeti u Fukušimi 26. ožujka.
