Već pet godina uspješno organiziramo Svjetski kup rukometnih veterana pa smo odlučili organizirati slično natjecanje i u košarci, dakle od iduće godine u Omišu i Splitu će uz rukometne zaigrati i košarkaški veterani, koji će odmjeriti snage na prvom Svjetskom kupu košarkaških veterana – otkrio nam je u lipnju ove godine prvi čovjek organizacije brojnih sportskih događanja Mario Čaljkušić.

Od tada su prošla četiri mjeseca, priča se zakotrljala i svakim danom dobiva sve ozbiljnije konture. Čaljkušić i njegova uhodana ekipa već jedanaest godina uspješno organiziraju Međunarodni kamp rukometnih vratara i Svjetski kup rukometnih veterana, u Omiš su dovodili najveća imena svjetskog rukometa, pa su naumili isto napraviti i kad su u pitanju košarkaški veterani. Naumili, i kako se čini prema prvim reakcijama – i uspjeli.

 Svjedoče tome i brojna poznata imena iz svijeta košarke koja su podržala ovaj hvale vrijedan projekt, koji će se u travnju iduće godine održati u Omišu i Splitu. Od sportskog direktora hrvatske košarkaške reprezentacije Aleksandra Petrovića, preko legende europske košarke Nikole Vujčića, do Aramisa Naglića, Krešimira Lončara, Tea Čizmića, Damjana Rudeša, Igora Miličića, Bruna Šundova, Veljka Mršića...

 Svi oni aktivno podržavaju ovaj projekt, a neki su najavili i da će aktivno sudjelovati, kao natjecatelji na parketu. Tijekom turnira održat će se i okrugli stol na temu događanja u košarci, na koji su svoj dolazak najavili i predstavnici Hrvatskog košarkaškog saveza.

Svjetski kup košarkaških veterana zakazan je za 13. - 16. travnja sljedeće godine, no sustav prijave već je profunkcionirao na službenoj stranici Svjetskog kupa https://mastersbasketballworldcup.com. Štoviše, desetak ekipa već se prijavilo za natjecanja koja će se organizirati u tri skupine, “pet na pet”, “tri na tri” te “košarka u kolicima”, i to u tri ženske (+35, +40 i +45) i četiri muške (+35, +40, +45 i +50) kategorije, i to iz Turke, Velike Britanije, Nizozemske, Bosne i Hercegovine, Crne Gore, Mađarske, Italije...

- Podržavam inicijativu i radujem se sudjelovanju na okruglom stolu ako mi to obaveze dopuste. Košarka ima dosta problema o kojima treba otvoreno razgovarati i ukazati na ono što mi kao stručni ljudi smatramo da nije dobro. Naravno, radujem se ponovno susresti i brojna poznata lica iz svijeta košarke koje nisam dugo vidio – kazao je Aleksandar Petrović.

- Veteranski sport jako je popularan u cijelom svijetu, pa tako i među košarkašima koji možda nisu spremni na profesionalna odricanja kao nekad, ali još uvijek uživaju u igri i druženju, dakle u onome zbog čega smo svi skupa nekad davno, kao djeca i započeli s treninzima. Drago mi je da je ovaj projekt zaživio i kod nas i uopće ne sumnjam da će biti uspješan – kazao je Nikola Vujčić.

- Bitno je da košarka kao sport raste i napreduje. Aktivno sam se uključio i u organizaciju nove 3BL 3x3 lige, naravno da podržavam i ovaj projekt veteranske košarke i rado ću se odazvati na sve aktivnosti koje organizatori predlože – dodao je Damjan Rudež.

Planirano je da se završnica Svjetskog kupa odigra u hramu košarke na Gripama, tamo odakle je i krenula priča o velikoj i moćnoj Jugoplastici, neslužbeno najboljem košarkaškom klubu u Europi u 20. stoljeću, koji je osvojio tri uzastopna naslova prvaka Europe i mnoge od današnjih košarkaških veterana privukao i trajno vezao uz košarku.

- Naš klub podržava sve košarkaške projekte pa ćemo tako aktivno podržati i Svjetski kup košarkaških veterana. Radujemo se da ćemo vrata našeg doma otvoriti svima koji aktivno žive košarku, bez obzira što su već odavno u igračkoj mirovini, a razmišljamo i o sastavljanju jedne momčadi od naših veterana koja bi se natjecali u službenoj konkurenciji – kazao je direktor Košarkaškog kluba Split Edo Blažević.

Peto izdanje Svjetskog kupa rukometnih veterana je unatoč problemima koje je sudionicima stvarao korona virus i rat u Ukrajini okupio preko 1.000 natjecatelja i gostiju, stoga nema razloga sumnjati kako će i Svjetski kup košarkaških veterana polučiti slične, ako ne i još bolje rezultate. Moram priznati da sam pomalo i zavidio rukometašima kad sam vidio koliko ih se okuplja na veteranskim natjecanjima i da sam se pitao zašto se nešto slično ne organizira i za nas, bivše košarkaše. I evo, kao da sam dozvao organizatore. Drago mi je da su pokrenuli ovaj projekt, a posebno mi je drago što će se u njega aktivno uključiti i moj klub – kazao je sportski direktor Splita i jedan od igrača slavne zlatne generacija Jugoplastike Teo Čizmić

Već pet godina uspješno organiziramo Svjetski kup rukometnih veterana pa smo odlučili organizirati slično natjecanje i u košarci, dakle od iduće godine u Omišu i Splitu će uz rukometne zaigrati i košarkaški veterani, koji će odmjeriti snage na prvom Svjetskom kupu košarkaških veterana – otkrio nam je u lipnju ove godine prvi čovjek organizacije brojnih sportskih događanja Mario Čaljkušić.

Od tada su prošla četiri mjeseca, priča se zakotrljala i svakim danom dobiva sve ozbiljnije konture. Čaljkušić i njegova uhodana ekipa već jedanaest godina uspješno organiziraju Međunarodni kamp rukometnih vratara i Svjetski kup rukometnih veterana, u Omiš su dovodili najveća imena svjetskog rukometa, pa su naumili isto napraviti i kad su u pitanju košarkaški veterani. Naumili, i kako se čini prema prvim reakcijama – i uspjeli.

 Svjedoče tome i brojna poznata imena iz svijeta košarke koja su podržala ovaj hvale vrijedan projekt, koji će se u travnju iduće godine održati u Omišu i Splitu. Od sportskog direktora hrvatske košarkaške reprezentacije Aleksandra Petrovića, preko legende europske košarke Nikole Vujčića, do Aramisa Naglića, Krešimira Lončara, Tea Čizmića, Damjana Rudeša, Igora Miličića, Bruna Šundova, Veljka Mršića...

 Svi oni aktivno podržavaju ovaj projekt, a neki su najavili i da će aktivno sudjelovati, kao natjecatelji na parketu. Tijekom turnira održat će se i okrugli stol na temu događanja u košarci, na koji su svoj dolazak najavili i predstavnici Hrvatskog košarkaškog saveza.

Svjetski kup košarkaških veterana zakazan je za 13. - 16. travnja sljedeće godine, no sustav prijave već je profunkcionirao na službenoj stranici Svjetskog kupa https://mastersbasketballworldcup.com. Štoviše, desetak ekipa već se prijavilo za natjecanja koja će se organizirati u tri skupine, “pet na pet”, “tri na tri” te “košarka u kolicima”, i to u tri ženske (+35, +40 i +45) i četiri muške (+35, +40, +45 i +50) kategorije, i to iz Turke, Velike Britanije, Nizozemske, Bosne i Hercegovine, Crne Gore, Mađarske, Italije...

- Podržavam inicijativu i radujem se sudjelovanju na okruglom stolu ako mi to obaveze dopuste. Košarka ima dosta problema o kojima treba otvoreno razgovarati i ukazati na ono što mi kao stručni ljudi smatramo da nije dobro. Naravno, radujem se ponovno susresti i brojna poznata lica iz svijeta košarke koje nisam dugo vidio – kazao je Aleksandar Petrović.

- Veteranski sport jako je popularan u cijelom svijetu, pa tako i među košarkašima koji možda nisu spremni na profesionalna odricanja kao nekad, ali još uvijek uživaju u igri i druženju, dakle u onome zbog čega smo svi skupa nekad davno, kao djeca i započeli s treninzima. Drago mi je da je ovaj projekt zaživio i kod nas i uopće ne sumnjam da će biti uspješan – kazao je Nikola Vujčić.

- Bitno je da košarka kao sport raste i napreduje. Aktivno sam se uključio i u organizaciju nove 3BL 3x3 lige, naravno da podržavam i ovaj projekt veteranske košarke i rado ću se odazvati na sve aktivnosti koje organizatori predlože – dodao je Damjan Rudež.

Planirano je da se završnica Svjetskog kupa odigra u hramu košarke na Gripama, tamo odakle je i krenula priča o velikoj i moćnoj Jugoplastici, neslužbeno najboljem košarkaškom klubu u Europi u 20. stoljeću, koji je osvojio tri uzastopna naslova prvaka Europe i mnoge od današnjih košarkaških veterana privukao i trajno vezao uz košarku.

- Naš klub podržava sve košarkaške projekte pa ćemo tako aktivno podržati i Svjetski kup košarkaških veterana. Radujemo se da ćemo vrata našeg doma otvoriti svima koji aktivno žive košarku, bez obzira što su već odavno u igračkoj mirovini, a razmišljamo i o sastavljanju jedne momčadi od naših veterana koja bi se natjecali u službenoj konkurenciji – kazao je direktor Košarkaškog kluba Split Edo Blažević.

Peto izdanje Svjetskog kupa rukometnih veterana je unatoč problemima koje je sudionicima stvarao korona virus i rat u Ukrajini okupio preko 1.000 natjecatelja i gostiju, stoga nema razloga sumnjati kako će i Svjetski kup košarkaških veterana polučiti slične, ako ne i još bolje rezultate. Moram priznati da sam pomalo i zavidio rukometašima kad sam vidio koliko ih se okuplja na veteranskim natjecanjima i da sam se pitao zašto se nešto slično ne organizira i za nas, bivše košarkaše. I evo, kao da sam dozvao organizatore. Drago mi je da su pokrenuli ovaj projekt, a posebno mi je drago što će se u njega aktivno uključiti i moj klub – kazao je sportski direktor Splita i jedan od igrača slavne zlatne generacija Jugoplastike Teo Čizmić

Sad je definitivno potvrđeno: iduće godine u Omišu i Splitu ide i kup košarkaških veterana

Već pet godina uspješno organiziramo Svjetski kup rukometnih veterana pa smo odlučili organizirati slično natjecanje i u košarci, dakle od iduće godine u Omišu i Splitu će uz rukometne zaigrati i košarkaški veterani, koji će odmjeriti snage na prvom Svjetskom kupu košarkaških veterana – otkrio nam je u lipnju ove godine prvi čovjek organizacije brojnih sportskih događanja Mario Čaljkušić.

Od tada su prošla četiri mjeseca, priča se zakotrljala i svakim danom dobiva sve ozbiljnije konture. Čaljkušić i njegova uhodana ekipa već jedanaest godina uspješno organiziraju Međunarodni kamp rukometnih vratara i Svjetski kup rukometnih veterana, u Omiš su dovodili najveća imena svjetskog rukometa, pa su naumili isto napraviti i kad su u pitanju košarkaški veterani.
