Službena potvrda odluka donesenih noć ranije još uvijek se čekala, ali sve je bilo jasno nakon što je prijepodnevni trening s momčadi odradio Ivo Smoje. Stjepan Tomas više nije trener Osijeka. S njim će Opus Arenu napustiti i stožer kojeg je doveo u klub, ali i sportski direktor Ivica Kulešević.

Stjepan Tomas vodio je Osijek u 20 utakmica u svim natjecanjima uz učinak od deset pobjeda te po pet remija i poraza. Međutim, čak tri od tih pet poraza dogodila su se u posljednjih pet utakmica i ta mu je crna serija presudila. Osijek je preuzeo proljetos u trenutku kada su Bijelo-plavi bili u nizu od čak 11 utakmica bez trijumfa i kada im je plasman u Europu bio opasno ugrožen. Izvukao je Tomas tu sezonu, završio na trećem mjestu i, izuzmemo li težak poraz u turskoj Adani (1:5), dobro krenuo u novu sezonu. Sve se, međutim, nepovratno okrenulo na gore nakon prvenstvene stanke u rujnu. Osijek je u posljednjih pet prvenstvenih kola osvojio tek jedan bod više od "fenjeraša" Rudeša koji je čitave sezone osvojio samo jedan bod i Tomasu više nije bilo spasa, pišu Sportske novosti.

Ime novog trenera poznato nam je od ponedjeljka navečer, međutim Zoran Zekić još uvijek je u Albaniji gdje treba prvo razvrgnuti suradnju s Partizanijem prije nego što po drugi puta u trenerskoj karijeri preuzme Bijelo-plave. U ponedjeljak navečer, nakon sastanka na kome su potvrđene očekivane odluke o smjeni, klupski predsjednik Ferenc Sakalj kontaktirao je Zekića i dobio potvrdan odgovor.

Pitanje je, međutim, hoće li se to dogoditi do subote kada Osijek igra prvenstvenu utakmicu protiv Rudeša. Ne stigne li Zekić do tada, Osijek bi se mogao naći u ozbiljnom problemu jer netko će trebati voditi momčad. Što se, pak, Ivice Kuleševića tiče on je platio ceh prijelaznog roka kojeg Osijek nije odradio na pravi način, od osmorice dovedenih igrača jedan je prekrižen nakon dva mjeseca, a završen je tako da na dvije pozicije u momčadi ne postoji alternativa. Njegov odlazak, iako kruže drugačije priče, nije izravno povezan sa Zekićevim dolaskom. Još u nedjelju, dan nakon Koprivnice i dan prije nego što je Zekić izglasan (a u igri za klupu su bili Tomić, Garcija, s spominjao se i Bišćan), bilo je jasno kako Opus Arenu napuštaju oba čovjeka zadužena za vođenje sportskog sektora - i Tomas i Kulešević.

Službena potvrda odluka donesenih noć ranije još uvijek se čekala, ali sve je bilo jasno nakon što je prijepodnevni trening s momčadi odradio Ivo Smoje. Stjepan Tomas više nije trener Osijeka. S njim će Opus Arenu napustiti i stožer kojeg je doveo u klub, ali i sportski direktor Ivica Kulešević.

Stjepan Tomas vodio je Osijek u 20 utakmica u svim natjecanjima uz učinak od deset pobjeda te po pet remija i poraza. Međutim, čak tri od tih pet poraza dogodila su se u posljednjih pet utakmica i ta mu je crna serija presudila. Osijek je preuzeo proljetos u trenutku kada su Bijelo-plavi bili u nizu od čak 11 utakmica bez trijumfa i kada im je plasman u Europu bio opasno ugrožen. Ime novog trenera poznato nam je od ponedjeljka navečer, međutim Zoran Zekić još uvijek je u Albaniji gdje treba prvo razvrgnuti suradnju s Partizanijem prije nego što po drugi puta u trenerskoj karijeri preuzme Bijelo-plave. U ponedjeljak navečer, nakon sastanka na kome su potvrđene očekivane odluke o smjeni, klupski predsjednik Ferenc Sakalj kontaktirao je Zekića i dobio potvrdan odgovor.

Pitanje je, međutim, hoće li se to dogoditi do subote kada Osijek igra prvenstvenu utakmicu protiv Rudeša. Ne stigne li Zekić do tada, Osijek bi se mogao naći u ozbiljnom problemu jer netko će trebati voditi momčad. Njegov odlazak, iako kruže drugačije priče, nije izravno povezan sa Zekićevim dolaskom.
