Splitski je škver iznjedrio 3500 branitelja koji su se borili u gotovo svim postrojbama Hrvatske vojske.

Udruga veterana Domovinskog rata "Brodosplit" svečano je polaganjem vijenaca i paljenjem svijeća ispod spomen-ploče u "Parku hrvatskih mučenika" u krugu splitskog brodogradilišta upriličila obilježavanje 32. godišnjice osnutka "Škverskog bataljuna".

- Zahvaljujući junaštvu, ljubavi prema domovini, vođeni mudrom politikom vrhovnog zapovjednika i predsjednika dr. Franje Tuđmana, ova dragovoljačka postrojba je iznjedrila vojsku i dovela nas do slobode i neovisnosti, a mi smo ponosni dio te priče, jer je naš škver još u svibnju 1990. godine postao bastion pokreta otpora i bitan čimbenik budućih događanja – istaknuo je Goran Kosor, predsjednik Udruge dragovoljaca Domovinskog rata "Brodosplit".

Sve je počelo na današnji datum, 16. listopada 1990. godine, kada je u Brodograđevnoj industriji Split ustrojen II. policijski bataljun rezervnog sastava MUP-a, sastavljen većinom od radnika splitskog brodogradilišta. Bataljun je formacijski brojio 340 pripadnika, a imao je zadaću čuvanja vitalnih objekata u brodogradilištu, Splitu, Solinu i Kaštelima.

Ubrzo su se škveranima priključile dragovoljačke postrojbe iz većih splitskih poduzeća: Diokoma, Koteksa, Dalme, HPT-a, Prometa, Brodomerkura, kao i dragovoljačke satnije iz Žrnovnice. Važnu ulogu ova postrojba odigrala je i 6. svibnja 1991. godine, kada su radnici škvera poveli radnike i građane Splita na prosvjed pred Banovinu, tadašnju komandu Vojno-pomorske oblasti, osiguravajući skup i paralelno osiguravajući vojarne Lora i Visoka, kontrolirajući izlazak JNA na ulice Splita.

Svoje aktivnosti "Škverski bataljun" imao je sve do 31. svibnja 1991. godine, kada je odlukom ministra obrane Republike Hrvatske Martina Špegelja utemeljena 114. brigada Hrvatske vojske, prva pričuvna brigada Zbora narodne garde.

Veliki doprinos Brodosplit je dao i kod izrade naoružanja. Tako su iz škverskih pogona izišli prvi transporteri i oklopni vlak te proizvedeni minobacači, rakete, ručne bombe, aviobombe, mine, bojeva glava za raketu 128 mm, prigušivači i brojna druga oprema.

Među njima je bio i Mile Čatlak, suborac i dragovoljac Domovinskog rata, sin brigadnog generala Ante Čatlaka, prvog zapovjednika 114. brigade ZNG-a. Na obilježavanje, koje je odlično vodila Mirella Meić, stigla je i Matea Lončar iz Ministarstva hrvatskih branitelja, Damir Gabrić iz Županije Splitsko-dalmatinske te Ivica Franić iz PU Splitsko-dalmatinske, kao i glasnogovornik Škvera Josip Jurišić, a pjevali su članovi klape MUP-a "Sveti Mihovil".

Evo što o ovom danas kažu članovi "Škverskog bataljuna":

Vlado Vuković:

– Naježim se i danas kad se sjetim kako je sve počelo i kako smo krenuli; puni naboja i domoljublja... A još mi je puno draže da smo i dan danas zajedno i ne propuštamo ni jedan utorak biti zajedno.

Ante Brajković:

– Ne volim i ne želim pričati o ratu. Volim naša neopterećena današnja utorkaška druženja i ostale aktivnosti kroz udrugu...

Ivan Čalo:

– Bilo mi je čast i ponos tada potpisati pristupnicu škverskom bataljunu i tim činom pokazati odanost i odlučnost. Taj osjećaj trebalo je doživjeti. Ponosan sam na svoju ulogu u Domovinskom ratu i pripadnost škverskim dragovoljcima. Ovim putem pozdravljam sve suborce, sve hrvatske branitelje a posebno dragovoljce Domovinskog rata.

Goran Kosor, predsjednik Udruge veterana Domovinskog rata Brodosplit:

– Ono što se nikad ne bi smjelo zaboraviti jest podatak da je 16. listopada 1990. godine u škver ušlo deset tisuća ljudi, zajedno s kooperacijom. Od toga je bilo 8000 muškaraca, a samo taj dan 340 odlučnih, odanih, hrabrih domoljuba potpisalo je lojalnost hrvatskoj državi i pripadnost Drugom policijskom "škverskom bataljunu", spremno položiti svoj život na oltar Domovine.

Poklon prijatelju

Škverski veterani odlučili su darovati čahuru iz Domovinskog rata don Vjenceslavu Kujundžiću, župniku župe svetog Josipa na Mertojaku.

- Našem iskrenom prijatelju, domoljubu i dušebrižniku, a prije svega iskrenom i odanom čovjeku, darujemo ovu čahuru iz Domovinskog rata kao zahvalu za svekoliku potporu i kao spomen na ostvarenje zajedničkog nam sna – Lijepe naše - ugravirano je na čahuri.

Splitski je škver iznjedrio 3500 branitelja koji su se borili u gotovo svim postrojbama Hrvatske vojske.

Udruga veterana Domovinskog rata "Brodosplit" svečano je polaganjem vijenaca i paljenjem svijeća ispod spomen-ploče u "Parku hrvatskih mučenika" u krugu splitskog brodogradilišta upriličila obilježavanje 32. godišnjice osnutka "Škverskog bataljuna".

- Zahvaljujući junaštvu, ljubavi prema domovini, vođeni mudrom politikom vrhovnog zapovjednika i predsjednika dr. Franje Tuđmana, ova dragovoljačka postrojba je iznjedrila vojsku i dovela nas do slobode i neovisnosti, a mi smo ponosni dio te priče, jer je naš škver još u svibnju 1990. godine postao bastion pokreta otpora i bitan čimbenik budućih događanja – istaknuo je Goran Kosor, predsjednik Udruge dragovoljaca Domovinskog rata "Brodosplit".

Sve je počelo na današnji datum, 16. listopada 1990. godine, kada je u Brodograđevnoj industriji Split ustrojen II. policijski bataljun rezervnog sastava MUP-a, sastavljen većinom od radnika splitskog brodogradilišta. Bataljun je formacijski brojio 340 pripadnika, a imao je zadaću čuvanja vitalnih objekata u brodogradilištu, Splitu, Solinu i Kaštelima.

Ubrzo su se škveranima priključile dragovoljačke postrojbe iz većih splitskih poduzeća: Diokoma, Koteksa, Dalme, HPT-a, Prometa, Brodomerkura, kao i dragovoljačke satnije iz Žrnovnice. Važnu ulogu ova postrojba odigrala je i 6. svibnja 1991. godine, kada su radnici škvera poveli radnike i građane Splita na prosvjed pred Banovinu, tadašnju komandu Vojno-pomorske oblasti, osiguravajući skup i paralelno osiguravajući vojarne Lora i Visoka, kontrolirajući izlazak JNA na ulice Splita.

Svoje aktivnosti "Škverski bataljun" imao je sve do 31. svibnja 1991. godine, kada je odlukom ministra obrane Republike Hrvatske Martina Špegelja utemeljena 114. brigada Hrvatske vojske, prva pričuvna brigada Zbora narodne garde.

Veliki doprinos Brodosplit je dao i kod izrade naoružanja. Tako su iz škverskih pogona izišli prvi transporteri i oklopni vlak te proizvedeni minobacači, rakete, ručne bombe, aviobombe, mine, bojeva glava za raketu 128 mm, prigušivači i brojna druga oprema.

Među njima je bio i Mile Čatlak, suborac i dragovoljac Domovinskog rata, sin brigadnog generala Ante Čatlaka, prvog zapovjednika 114. brigade ZNG-a. Na obilježavanje, koje je odlično vodila Mirella Meić, stigla je i Matea Lončar iz Ministarstva hrvatskih branitelja, Damir Gabrić iz Županije Splitsko-dalmatinske te Ivica Franić iz PU Splitsko-dalmatinske, kao i glasnogovornik Škvera Josip Jurišić, a pjevali su članovi klape MUP-a "Sveti Mihovil".

Evo što o ovom danas kažu članovi "Škverskog bataljuna":

Vlado Vuković:

– Naježim se i danas kad se sjetim kako je sve počelo i kako smo krenuli; puni naboja i domoljublja... A još mi je puno draže da smo i dan danas zajedno i ne propuštamo ni jedan utorak biti zajedno.

Ante Brajković:

– Ne volim i ne želim pričati o ratu. Volim naša neopterećena današnja utorkaška druženja i ostale aktivnosti kroz udrugu...

Ivan Čalo:

– Bilo mi je čast i ponos tada potpisati pristupnicu škverskom bataljunu i tim činom pokazati odanost i odlučnost. Taj osjećaj trebalo je doživjeti. Ponosan sam na svoju ulogu u Domovinskom ratu i pripadnost škverskim dragovoljcima. Ovim putem pozdravljam sve suborce, sve hrvatske branitelje a posebno dragovoljce Domovinskog rata.

Goran Kosor, predsjednik Udruge veterana Domovinskog rata Brodosplit:

– Ono što se nikad ne bi smjelo zaboraviti jest podatak da je 16. listopada 1990. godine u škver ušlo deset tisuća ljudi, zajedno s kooperacijom. Od toga je bilo 8000 muškaraca, a samo taj dan 340 odlučnih, odanih, hrabrih domoljuba potpisalo je lojalnost hrvatskoj državi i pripadnost Drugom policijskom "škverskom bataljunu", spremno položiti svoj život na oltar Domovine.

Škverski veterani odlučili su darovati čahuru iz Domovinskog rata don Vjenceslavu Kujundžiću, župniku župe svetog Josipa na Mertojaku.

- Našem iskrenom prijatelju, domoljubu i dušebrižniku, a prije svega iskrenom i odanom čovjeku, darujemo ovu čahuru iz Domovinskog rata kao zahvalu za svekoliku potporu i kao spomen na ostvarenje zajedničkog nam sna – Lijepe naše - ugravirano je na čahuri.
