Već nekoliko dana zabilježena je pojačana seizmička aktivnost na području Jadranskog mora, nekih 40-50 kilometara od Visa i stotinjak od Splita. Većina Dalmatinaca tvrdi da nije ni osjetila potrese, ali mnoge je uznemirila i sama činjenica da morsko tlo podrhtava, evo već desetak puta od subote. Seizmografi su zabilježili potrese jakosti od 2.0 pa do 5.5 prema Richteru, kolika je bila magnituda popodnevnog potresa u subotu.

Današnji najjači "drmnuo je" 4.2 prema Richteru, a intenzitet u epicentru V-VI stupnja EMS ljestvice, izvijestila je Seizmološka služba.

Imamo li razloga za brigu, pitali su na HRT-u profesora emeritusa Antu Mihanovića s Građevinskog fakulteta Sveučilišta u Splitu, inače stručnjaka za protivpotresnu gradnju.

- Sredozemljem prolazi sudar afričke i indo-europske tektonske ploče. Sve što se događa je u okviru nama poznatog, sam jadranski dio nije toliko potresno ugrožen i podaci govore da tamo u biti nema jakih potresa, osim na dvije lokacije, zona Palagruže i zona Jabuke - objašnjava prof. emer. Ante Mihanović.

Kaže kako potres kakav se dogodio 27. ožujka, od 5.5 Richtera i 10 kilometara od žarišta, spada u jedan po podacima rijedak potres, koji se događa jednom u 500 godina.

- Što se tiče povratnog perioda, mala je vjerojatnost da će se dogoditi jači potres. Njegov učinak je minoran za nas, samo je Palagruža bila potresena tako da nekih posebnih šteta nema, osim našeg straha - kaže Mihanović.

Dodaje kako se moramo naučiti živjeti s potresima i upozorava one koji grade i projektiraju građevine da to čine tako da one budu sigurne i otporne na potrese.

U nedavnom razgovoru za Slobodnu Dalmaciju je kazao kako izgradnju u Dalmaciju u periodu od 1964. do 1981. smatra solidnom jer su se već tada primjenjivala protivpotresna pravila u svim većim zgradama, a svu zakonito kontroliranu gradnju nakon 1981. vrlo  dobrm u potresnoj otpornosti, dočim je ona nakon 2008. - izvrsna. 

Upitali smo ga tada i koliko jaki potres mogu izdržati Dioklecijanova palača, zvonik sv. Duje, stadion na Poljudu, ali i Westgate toranj B, najveća građevina u Splitu na kojoj je i sam angažiran.

O Palači je kazao kako građevina koja je izdržala više od 1700 godina i sve potrese kojih je itekako bilo dosta, ima solidnu potresnu otpornost. Jedna skraćena analiza otpornosti zvonika sv. Duje pokazuje da je iznad onoga što današnje norme nalažu, a i Poljud je, kazao je, tako koncipiran da je neznatno osjetljiv na potres.

- Westgate toranj B u Kopilici sa 108 metara od razine tla, za dva metra je viši od Zagrebačke katedrale, i izrazito je otporan na potres. Zanimljivo, potres za njega uopće nije mjerodavno opterećenje, već je to vjetar - kazao je prof. Mihanović

‘Potres iste magnitude sa žarištem pri površini ima neusporedivo opasniji učinak od onog na velikoj dubini‘

 

Magnituda ili jakost potresa iskazuje količinu energije oslobođene u hipocentru (žarištu potresa). Mjeri se Richterovim podatkom, čije se vrijednosti izražavaju kao decimalne brojke: 1,0 do 10,0 i više, dosad najjači iznosio je 9,5, a pogodio je Čile 1960. godine. Najviša očekivana magnituda na splitskom području je 5,5 Richtera. Hrvatska ima tri zasebne vršne lokacije magnituda, i to: šira zona Stona 7,5, Medvednica 6,5 i Crikvenica 6,2 stupnja prema Richteru.

Magnituda je jedinstvena mjera za jedan potres, a intenzitet je distribuirani podatak različit za svaku pojedinu lokaciju potresenog područja. Ne postoji izravna, već samo posredna veza magnitude i intenziteta u epicentralnom području.

Potres iste magnitude sa žarištem pri površini, primjerice dva do pet kilometara, ima neusporedivo opasniji učinak od onog na velikoj dubini, npr. 20-30 kilometara.
Razorni učinak na građevine, ljude i promjene u Zemljinu reljefu prikazuje se kao intenzitet potresa iskustvenom skalom popularno nazvanom Mercallijeva s 12 stupnjeva. U novije doba intenzitet precizno iskazujemo mjerodavnim horizontalnim ubrzanjem na konkretnoj lokaciji. Najčešće ga izražavamo u omjeru prema gravitaciji planeta Zemlje. Upravo takav podatak je relevantan inženjerima za projektiranje i osiguranje potresne otpornosti - kaže prof. dr. sc. Ante Mihanović.

Već nekoliko dana zabilježena je pojačana seizmička aktivnost na području Jadranskog mora, nekih 40-50 kilometara od Visa i stotinjak od Splita. Većina Dalmatinaca tvrdi da nije ni osjetila potrese, ali mnoge je uznemirila i sama činjenica da morsko tlo podrhtava, evo već desetak puta od subote. Seizmografi su zabilježili potrese jakosti od 2.0 pa do 5.5 prema Richteru, kolika je bila magnituda popodnevnog potresa u subotu.

Današnji najjači "drmnuo je" 4.2 prema Richteru, a intenzitet u epicentru V-VI stupnja EMS ljestvice, izvijestila je Seizmološka služba.

Imamo li razloga za brigu, pitali su na HRT-u profesora emeritusa Antu Mihanovića s Građevinskog fakulteta Sveučilišta u Splitu, inače stručnjaka za protivpotresnu gradnju.

- Sredozemljem prolazi sudar afričke i indo-europske tektonske ploče. Sve što se događa je u okviru nama poznatog, sam jadranski dio nije toliko potresno ugrožen i podaci govore da tamo u biti nema jakih potresa, osim na dvije lokacije, zona Palagruže i zona Jabuke - objašnjava prof. emer. Ante Mihanović.

Kaže kako potres kakav se dogodio 27. ožujka, od 5.5 Richtera i 10 kilometara od žarišta, spada u jedan po podacima rijedak potres, koji se događa jednom u 500 godina.

- Što se tiče povratnog perioda, mala je vjerojatnost da će se dogoditi jači potres. Njegov učinak je minoran za nas, samo je Palagruža bila potresena tako da nekih posebnih šteta nema, osim našeg straha - kaže Mihanović.

Dodaje kako se moramo naučiti živjeti s potresima i upozorava one koji grade i projektiraju građevine da to čine tako da one budu sigurne i otporne na potrese.

U nedavnom razgovoru za Slobodnu Dalmaciju je kazao kako izgradnju u Dalmaciju u periodu od 1964. do 1981. smatra solidnom jer su se već tada primjenjivala protivpotresna pravila u svim većim zgradama, a svu zakonito kontroliranu gradnju nakon 1981. vrlo  dobrm u potresnoj otpornosti, dočim je ona nakon 2008. - izvrsna. 

Upitali smo ga tada i koliko jaki potres mogu izdržati Dioklecijanova palača, zvonik sv. Duje, stadion na Poljudu, ali i Westgate toranj B, najveća građevina u Splitu na kojoj je i sam angažiran.

O Palači je kazao kako građevina koja je izdržala više od 1700 godina i sve potrese kojih je itekako bilo dosta, ima solidnu potresnu otpornost. Jedna skraćena analiza otpornosti zvonika sv. Duje pokazuje da je iznad onoga što današnje norme nalažu, a i Poljud je, kazao je, tako koncipiran da je neznatno osjetljiv na potres.

- Westgate toranj B u Kopilici sa 108 metara od razine tla, za dva metra je viši od Zagrebačke katedrale, i izrazito je otporan na potres. Zanimljivo, potres za njega uopće nije mjerodavno opterećenje, već je to vjetar - kazao je prof. Mihanović

‘Potres iste magnitude sa žarištem pri površini ima neusporedivo opasniji učinak od onog na velikoj dubini‘

 

Magnituda ili jakost potresa iskazuje količinu energije oslobođene u hipocentru (žarištu potresa). Mjeri se Richterovim podatkom, čije se vrijednosti izražavaju kao decimalne brojke: 1,0 do 10,0 i više, dosad najjači iznosio je 9,5, a pogodio je Čile 1960. godine. Najviša očekivana magnituda na splitskom području je 5,5 Richtera. Hrvatska ima tri zasebne vršne lokacije magnituda, i to: šira zona Stona 7,5, Medvednica 6,5 i Crikvenica 6,2 stupnja prema Richteru.

Magnituda je jedinstvena mjera za jedan potres, a intenzitet je distribuirani podatak različit za svaku pojedinu lokaciju potresenog područja. Ne postoji izravna, već samo posredna veza magnitude i intenziteta u epicentralnom području.

Potres iste magnitude sa žarištem pri površini, primjerice dva do pet kilometara, ima neusporedivo opasniji učinak od onog na velikoj dubini, npr. 20-30 kilometara.
Razorni učinak na građevine, ljude i promjene u Zemljinu reljefu prikazuje se kao intenzitet potresa iskustvenom skalom popularno nazvanom Mercallijeva s 12 stupnjeva. U novije doba intenzitet precizno iskazujemo mjerodavnim horizontalnim ubrzanjem na konkretnoj lokaciji. Najčešće ga izražavamo u omjeru prema gravitaciji planeta Zemlje. Upravo takav podatak je relevantan inženjerima za projektiranje i osiguranje potresne otpornosti - kaže prof. dr. sc. Ante Mihanović.
