Nije neka tragedija ako kupite kilogram marelica, rajčica ili breskvi pa se, kad dođete doma, razočarate u kvalitetu robe. Šteta je, ali događa se. Međutim kad ste se vratili iz trgovine ili s tržnice s lubenicom, nakon što ste se junački "isprsili", a bome i nateglili, pa ste još bili strpljivi pričakati da se ohladi, a kad tamo razočaranje - e, pa to je već popriličan problem, od par kilograma i rko zna koliko eura. Zato se isplati malo uputiti o pravilima odabira najbolje, najslađe, najzrelije lubenice, odnosno barem kako izabrati neku koja je zadovoljavajuće zrela i slatka, da vam se trud i trošak isplate.
Među trikovoima za koje smo svi čuli, čak i ako ih nismo iskušali, je staro dobro kuckanje o koru lubenice. Ako odjekuje - dobro je. Zrela je. A je li dovoljno slatka? E, pa to ne mora biti slučaj i zato bi vam bilo dobro upoznati se s još dva pravila. Prvo je još mističnije od kuckanja i zahtijeva ponešto iskustva, a odnosi se na vaš osobni dojam. Potrebno je, naime, da težina lubenice odgovara očekivanoj, odnosno da vam ne izgleda kao da je pretjerano lagana za svoju veličinu. Nije komplicirano kako zvuči, zapravo je vrlo jednostavno: ako je teška, puna je soka, ako je lakša nego što bi trebala biti, iznutra je suha i brašnasta.

Evo vam i treća sreća, a ovo je trik koji pali u 98 posto slučajeva (slobodna procjena). Ona dva posto se odnose na slijedeće situacije: a) netko vas je zeznuo (sjetimo se samo drskog trika s ubrizgavanjem zaslažene vode u lubenice, kako bi dobile na težini i više koštale) ili pak b) jednostavno niste imali sreće. No vratimo se na bitno: obratite pažnju na izgled trbuha (u lubenice, s vašim je sve u redu, što god vam tko rekao).
Na trbuhu lubenice, a to je onaj njen dio kojim dodiruje zemlju dok raste, trebao bi se nalaziti takozvani prsten, odnosno područje zamjetno svjetlije boje. E u ovom su slučaju bitne nijanse. Doslovno. Ako je prsten bež ili žućkaste boje, lubenica je zrela, ako je pak svjetlozelene ili bijele boje, tu lubenicu ne biste trebali ponijeti doma.

Međutim kad ste se vratili iz trgovine ili s tržnice s lubenicom, nakon što ste se junački "isprsili", a bome i nateglili, pa ste još bili strpljivi pričakati da se ohladi, a kad tamo razočaranje - e, pa to je već popriličan problem, od par kilograma i rko zna koliko eura. Zato se isplati malo uputiti o pravilima odabira najbolje, najslađe, najzrelije lubenice, odnosno barem kako izabrati neku koja je zadovoljavajuće zrela i slatka, da vam se trud i trošak isplate.
Među trikovoima za koje smo svi čuli, čak i ako ih nismo iskušali, je staro dobro kuckanje o koru lubenice. Ako odjekuje - dobro je. Zrela je. A je li dovoljno slatka? E, pa to ne mora biti slučaj i zato bi vam bilo dobro upoznati se s još dva pravila. Prvo je još mističnije od kuckanja i zahtijeva ponešto iskustva, a odnosi se na vaš osobni dojam. Potrebno je, naime, da težina lubenice odgovara očekivanoj, odnosno da vam ne izgleda kao da je pretjerano lagana za svoju veličinu. Nije komplicirano kako zvuči, zapravo je vrlo jednostavno: ako je teška, puna je soka, ako je lakša nego što bi trebala biti, iznutra je suha i brašnasta.

Evo vam i treća sreća, a ovo je trik koji pali u 98 posto slučajeva (slobodna procjena). Ona dva posto se odnose na slijedeće situacije: a) netko vas je zeznuo (sjetimo se samo drskog trika s ubrizgavanjem zaslažene vode u lubenice, kako bi dobile na težini i više koštale) ili pak b) jednostavno niste imali sreće. No vratimo se na bitno: obratite pažnju na izgled trbuha (u lubenice, s vašim je sve u redu, što god vam tko rekao).
Na trbuhu lubenice, a to je onaj njen dio kojim dodiruje zemlju dok raste, trebao bi se nalaziti takozvani prsten, odnosno područje zamjetno svjetlije boje. E u ovom su slučaju bitne nijanse. Doslovno. Ako je prsten bež ili žućkaste boje, lubenica je zrela, ako je pak svjetlozelene ili bijele boje, tu lubenicu ne biste trebali ponijeti doma.
