'I May Destroy You', HBO drama Michaele Coel o seksualnom zlostavljanju koja propitkuje pitanje pristanka nije nominirana za Zlatni globus početkom godine što je mnoge iznenadilo pa i razljutilo. Serija temeljena na vlastitim iskustvima autorice hvaljena je kao jedna od najzanimljivijih i najutjecajnijih pa se očekivalo da će primiti zaslužena priznanja.

Serija je ipak osvojila BAFTA-u, a sada je Coel koja je osmislila seriju i glumila njezinu glavnu junakinju dobila svoj prvi Emmy. Vidno dirnuta, popela se na pozornicu i primila nagradu za scenariji. Pritom je bez suvišne patetike pročitala svoj govor koji je oduševio sve u prisutne publici.

Pozvala je druge pisce da napišu priču koja ih plaši, zbog koje se osjećaju nesigurno, koja nije ugodna. “Izazivam vas,” rekla je Coel.

'I May Destroy You' prati život spisateljice Arabelle koja se jednog jutra budi s ozljedom i vrlo mutnim sjećanjem na seksualni napad, a riječ je o događaju koji je Coel sama doživjela. U piće joj je ubačena droga za silovanje nakon čega je u noćnom izlasku napadnuta od strane nepoznata muškarca.

Na kraju svoga govora autorica je nagradu posvetila "svima koji su bili žrtve seksualnog napada.” Nakon toga publika se ustala i održala najduže sinoćnje ovacije.

'I May Destroy You', HBO drama Michaele Coel o seksualnom zlostavljanju koja propitkuje pitanje pristanka nije nominirana za Zlatni globus početkom godine što je mnoge iznenadilo pa i razljutilo. Serija temeljena na vlastitim iskustvima autorice hvaljena je kao jedna od najzanimljivijih i najutjecajnijih pa se očekivalo da će primiti zaslužena priznanja.

Serija je ipak osvojila BAFTA-u, a sada je Coel koja je osmislila seriju i glumila njezinu glavnu junakinju dobila svoj prvi Emmy. Vidno dirnuta, popela se na pozornicu i primila nagradu za scenariji. Pritom je bez suvišne patetike pročitala svoj govor koji je oduševio sve u prisutne publici.

Pozvala je druge pisce da napišu priču koja ih plaši, zbog koje se osjećaju nesigurno, koja nije ugodna. “Izazivam vas,” rekla je Coel.

'I May Destroy You' prati život spisateljice Arabelle koja se jednog jutra budi s ozljedom i vrlo mutnim sjećanjem na seksualni napad, a riječ je o događaju koji je Coel sama doživjela. U piće joj je ubačena droga za silovanje nakon čega je u noćnom izlasku napadnuta od strane nepoznata muškarca.

Na kraju svoga govora autorica je nagradu posvetila "svima koji su bili žrtve seksualnog napada.” Nakon toga publika se ustala i održala najduže sinoćnje ovacije.
