Dječak iz Indije u samo 7 godina svog života primio je čak 80 transfuzija zbog rijetke genetske bolesti koja zahtijeva kontinuirano primanje krvi. Rođen je s velikom talasemijom, genetskim poremećajem je koji dovodi do niskog broja hemoglobina, a jedini dugoročni spas za njega je bilo presađivanje koštane srži, međutim ni njegovi roditelji ni starija sestra nisu bili odgovarajući donori. Tada su se odlučili umjetnom oplodnjom dobiti još jedno dijete s potrebnim genetskim predispozicijama kako bi spasilo život njihovog sinčića, piše Vice.

Ne samo da su stalni odlasci na transfuzije naporni i onemogućavaju normalan život već nisu ni posve efikasni. Bez presađivanja koštane srži pacijenti koji boluju od ove rijetke bolesti mogu doživjeti maksimalno 30-ak godina. Roditelji su prihvatili izlaz iz ove situacije u kojoj se cijeli njihov život vrtio oko bolesti djeteta i pristali na metoda koja se naziva 'eksperiment sestre ili brata spasitelja'. Roditelji se odlučuju imati novo dijete samo kako bi moglo biti donator organa, koštane srži ili stanica starijoj sestri ili bratu. Ovo je prvi put da se nešto slično dogodilo u Indiji.

U laboratoriju je stvoreno 18 embrija i jedan se pokazao genetički savršenim za rješavanje njihova problema. Obitelj je bila oduševljena jer je postojala opcija da nijedan ne funkcionira. Majka je zanijela in vitro oplodnjom 2018. i trudnoća je prošla uspješno, rodila je zdravu djevojčicu. Liječnici su već upotrijebili njenu koštanu srž u liječenju dječaka i zasad sve prolazi u redu. Ipak još treba proći period od 10-ak mjeseci da se vidi je li presađivanje prošlo uspješno i oporavlja li se dječak.

Ovaj fenomen izaziva etičke rasprave u liječničkim krugovima. Postavlja se pitanje je li ovdje genetički inženjering otišao predaleko. Neki kritičari u svojim napadima uspoređuje ga se s eugenikom što svakako vuče negativne konotacije. Postupak je u nekim zemljama zabranjen, a u Indiji gdje je obavljen prvi put također je prouzročio negodovanje dijela javnosti.

Međutim dječak kojemu je sestra pomogla ne bi uspio preživjeti da je nije bilo. Njegovi roditelji su iscrpili sve moguće financije kojima su ga održavali na životu, a i nije vodio normalno djetinjstvo zbog stalnih posjeta bolnici. Uz to ovdje nije riječ o doniranju organa koje bi se moglo loše odraziti na zdravstveno stanje novog djeteta, ona će bez obzira na postupak živjeti najnormalnije čime se otklanjaju moralne dvojbenosti metode, smatraju roditelji.

Za sada su zadovoljni kako sve napreduje, ali bez obzira na to medicinski motre oboje djece kako bi osigurali da u slučaju komplikacija pravovremeno reagiraju.

Dječak iz Indije u samo 7 godina svog života primio je čak 80 transfuzija zbog rijetke genetske bolesti koja zahtijeva kontinuirano primanje krvi. Rođen je s velikom talasemijom, genetskim poremećajem je koji dovodi do niskog broja hemoglobina, a jedini dugoročni spas za njega je bilo presađivanje koštane srži, međutim ni njegovi roditelji ni starija sestra nisu bili odgovarajući donori. Tada su se odlučili umjetnom oplodnjom dobiti još jedno dijete s potrebnim genetskim predispozicijama kako bi spasilo život njihovog sinčića, piše Vice.

Ne samo da su stalni odlasci na transfuzije naporni i onemogućavaju normalan život već nisu ni posve efikasni. Bez presađivanja koštane srži pacijenti koji boluju od ove rijetke bolesti mogu doživjeti maksimalno 30-ak godina. Roditelji su prihvatili izlaz iz ove situacije u kojoj se cijeli njihov život vrtio oko bolesti djeteta i pristali na metoda koja se naziva 'eksperiment sestre ili brata spasitelja'. Roditelji se odlučuju imati novo dijete samo kako bi moglo biti donator organa, koštane srži ili stanica starijoj sestri ili bratu. Ovo je prvi put da se nešto slično dogodilo u Indiji.

U laboratoriju je stvoreno 18 embrija i jedan se pokazao genetički savršenim za rješavanje njihova problema. Obitelj je bila oduševljena jer je postojala opcija da nijedan ne funkcionira. Majka je zanijela in vitro oplodnjom 2018. i trudnoća je prošla uspješno, rodila je zdravu djevojčicu. Liječnici su već upotrijebili njenu koštanu srž u liječenju dječaka i zasad sve prolazi u redu. Ipak još treba proći period od 10-ak mjeseci da se vidi je li presađivanje prošlo uspješno i oporavlja li se dječak.

Ovaj fenomen izaziva etičke rasprave u liječničkim krugovima. Postavlja se pitanje je li ovdje genetički inženjering otišao predaleko. Neki kritičari u svojim napadima uspoređuje ga se s eugenikom što svakako vuče negativne konotacije. Postupak je u nekim zemljama zabranjen, a u Indiji gdje je obavljen prvi put također je prouzročio negodovanje dijela javnosti.

Međutim dječak kojemu je sestra pomogla ne bi uspio preživjeti da je nije bilo. Njegovi roditelji su iscrpili sve moguće financije kojima su ga održavali na životu, a i nije vodio normalno djetinjstvo zbog stalnih posjeta bolnici. Uz to ovdje nije riječ o doniranju organa koje bi se moglo loše odraziti na zdravstveno stanje novog djeteta, ona će bez obzira na postupak živjeti najnormalnije čime se otklanjaju moralne dvojbenosti metode, smatraju roditelji.

Za sada su zadovoljni kako sve napreduje, ali bez obzira na to medicinski motre oboje djece kako bi osigurali da u slučaju komplikacija pravovremeno reagiraju.

Roditelji u Indiji genetskim inženjeringom dobili kćer kako bi spasili život bolesnome sinu

Dječak iz Indije u samo 7 godina svog života primio je čak 80 transfuzija zbog rijetke genetske bolesti koja zahtijeva kontinuirano primanje krvi. Rođen je s velikom talasemijom, genetskim poremećajem je koji dovodi do niskog broja hemoglobina, a jedini dugoročni spas za njega je bilo presađivanje koštane srži, međutim ni njegovi roditelji ni starija sestra nisu bili odgovarajući donori. Tada su se odlučili umjetnom oplodnjom dobiti još jedno dijete s potrebnim genetskim predispozicijama kako bi spasilo život njihovog sinčića, piše Vice.

Ne samo da su stalni odlasci na transfuzije naporni i onemogućavaju normalan život već nisu ni posve efikasni. Bez presađivanja koštane srži pacijenti koji boluju od ove rijetke bolesti mogu doživjeti maksimalno 30-ak godina....
