Iako većina muškaraca za to ne želi ni čuti, istraživanje je dokazalo da virus HPV-a, koji se prenosi i oralnim spolnim odnosima, uzrokuje rak grla.

Studija obavljena na Sveučilištu “John Hopkins” obuhvatila je 300 ljudi te je potvrdila da virus HPV-a predstavlja veći rizik za rak grla i usne šupljine nego pušenje i alkohol.

Rezultati su pokazali da ljudi koji imaju više od šest spolnih partnera imaju devet puta veći rizik da obole od raka grla, dok oni koji su već zaraženi virusom HPV-a imaju za 32 posto veći rizik razvoja ove vrste raka.

Znanstvenici su otkrili da se HPV najčešće širi preko oralnog seksa, pa se ne može isključiti prijenos poljupcem.

Većina ovih infekcija ne daje posebne simptome i često ne zahtijeva liječenje, kazala je dr. Maura Gillison, koautorica studije, dodavši da je rak grla još uvijek relativno rijedak, te da većina ljudi koja bi se zarazila oralnim seksom vjerojatno neće razviti i rak.

Iako većina muškaraca za to ne želi ni čuti, istraživanje je dokazalo da virus HPV-a, koji se prenosi i oralnim spolnim odnosima, uzrokuje rak grla.

Studija obavljena na Sveučilištu “John Hopkins” obuhvatila je 300 ljudi te je potvrdila da virus HPV-a predstavlja veći rizik za rak grla i usne šupljine nego pušenje i alkohol.

Rezultati su pokazali da ljudi koji imaju više od šest spolnih partnera imaju devet puta veći rizik da obole od raka grla, dok oni koji su već zaraženi virusom HPV-a imaju za 32 posto veći rizik razvoja ove vrste raka.

Znanstvenici su otkrili da se HPV najčešće širi preko oralnog seksa, pa se ne može isključiti prijenos poljupcem.

Većina ovih infekcija ne daje posebne simptome i često ne zahtijeva liječenje, kazala je dr. Maura Gillison, koautorica studije, dodavši da je rak grla još uvijek relativno rijedak, te da većina ljudi koja bi se zarazila oralnim seksom vjerojatno neće razviti i rak.
