Najmlađi pacijent koji boluje od Alzheimerove bolesti, vjeruje se, je 19-godišnjak iz Kine, piše Večernji list.

Naime, ovaj mladić je dvije godine imao simptome koji su uključivali i gubitak pamćenja, poteškoće s čitanjem i koncentracijom i zakašnjele reakcije. Kada je posjetio doktora već je došao u fazu kada se nije mogao sjetiti što je večerao prethodnog dana. Zbog toga se, na žalost, morao ispisati iz srednje škole. 

Testovi kojima je bio podvrgnut su otkrili da se njegov hipotalamus smanjio. Njima je otkriveno i  oštećenje temporalnog režnja i povišene razine proteina tau. Ove pojave obilježja su Alzheimerove bolesti. S obzirom na to da mladić nema obiteljsku povijest ove bolesti ili genetsku mutaciju, što su uglavnom okidači Alzheimera u mladih, liječnici su bili šokirani.

"Ovo je najmlađi slučaj ikada prijavljen, koji zadovoljava dijagnostičke kriterije za vjerojatnu Alzheimerovu bolest bez prepoznatih genetskih mutacija", rekli su. 

Alzheimer inače obično pogađa osobe starije od 65 godina. Tek deset posto ukupnih bolesnika je dijagnosticirano u dobi ranijoj od prosječne, a prethodna najmlađa osoba koja boluje od Alzheimera imala je 21 godinu - i genetsku mutaciju.

Alzheimer je najčešći oblik demencije. Ova bolest je kronične i pogoršava se s vremenom te oboljeli umiru otprilike tri do 11 godina nakon dijagnoze.

Neuroznanstvenici već godinama rade na razvoju alata za ranije otkrivanje Alzheimerove bolesti, jer ranija dijagnoza povećava pacijentove šanse za dulje preživljavanje - pa čak i oporavak.

Najmlađi pacijent koji boluje od Alzheimerove bolesti, vjeruje se, je 19-godišnjak iz Kine, piše Večernji list.

Naime, ovaj mladić je dvije godine imao simptome koji su uključivali i gubitak pamćenja, poteškoće s čitanjem i koncentracijom i zakašnjele reakcije. Kada je posjetio doktora već je došao u fazu kada se nije mogao sjetiti što je večerao prethodnog dana. Zbog toga se, na žalost, morao ispisati iz srednje škole. 

Testovi kojima je bio podvrgnut su otkrili da se njegov hipotalamus smanjio. Njima je otkriveno i  oštećenje temporalnog režnja i povišene razine proteina tau. Ove pojave obilježja su Alzheimerove bolesti. S obzirom na to da mladić nema obiteljsku povijest ove bolesti ili genetsku mutaciju, što su uglavnom okidači Alzheimera u mladih, liječnici su bili šokirani.

"Ovo je najmlađi slučaj ikada prijavljen, koji zadovoljava dijagnostičke kriterije za vjerojatnu Alzheimerovu bolest bez prepoznatih genetskih mutacija", rekli su. 

Alzheimer inače obično pogađa osobe starije od 65 godina. Tek deset posto ukupnih bolesnika je dijagnosticirano u dobi ranijoj od prosječne, a prethodna najmlađa osoba koja boluje od Alzheimera imala je 21 godinu - i genetsku mutaciju.

Alzheimer je najčešći oblik demencije. Ova bolest je kronične i pogoršava se s vremenom te oboljeli umiru otprilike tri do 11 godina nakon dijagnoze.

Neuroznanstvenici već godinama rade na razvoju alata za ranije otkrivanje Alzheimerove bolesti, jer ranija dijagnoza povećava pacijentove šanse za dulje preživljavanje - pa čak i oporavak.

Najmlađi pacijent koji boluje od Alzheimerove bolesti, vjeruje se, je 19-godišnjak iz Kine, piše Večernji list.

Naime, ovaj mladić je dvije godine imao simptome koji su uključivali i gubitak pamćenja, poteškoće s čitanjem i koncentracijom i zakašnjele reakcije. Kada je posjetio doktora već je došao u fazu kada se nije mogao sjetiti što je večerao prethodnog dana. Zbog toga se, na žalost, morao ispisati iz srednje škole. 

Testovi kojima je bio podvrgnut su otkrili da se njegov hipotalamus smanjio. Njima je otkriveno i  oštećenje temporalnog režnja i povišene razine proteina tau. Ove pojave obilježja su Alzheimerove bolesti. S obzirom na to da mladić nema obiteljsku povijest ove bolesti ili genetsku mutaciju, što su uglavnom okidači Alzheimera u mladih,...
