Brojne slavne osobe, političari predvođeni britanskim premijerom Borisom Johnsonom, zdravstveni djelatnici i obični Britanci šalju poruke podrške i želje za što bržim ozdravljenjem stogodišnjem kapetanu Tomu Mooreu koji je u nedjelju primljen u bolnicu nakon što je nekoliko tjedana imao upalu pluća, a prošlog tjedna bio je pozitivan na koronavirus. Njegova obitelj objavila je da je imao teškoća s disanjem, ali nije u intenzivnoj skrbi. Kapetan Tom, veteran Drugog svjetskog rata kojega je kraljica Elizabetha II. za humanitarne zasluge lani proglasila vitezom i dodijelila mu počasni čin pukovnika, ponovno je postao nacionalni junak kad su prošlog proljeća njegove šetnje vlastitim dvorištem prikupile više od 32 milijuna funta za zdravstvene institucije.

Tijekom prvog britanskog „lockdowna” kapetan Tom je prošlog proljeća odlučio uz pomoć hodalice koju koristi nakon što je operirao kuk, napraviti sto krugova svojim dvorištem prije stotog rođendana 30. travnja kako bi prikupio tisuću funta za zdravstvene djelatnike na prvoj crti borbe protiv koronavirusa. Preko noći se njegov skromni plan pretvorio u nacionalni pokret s donacijama iz cijele Britanije i zemalja širom svijeta.

Zahvaljujući svom humanitarnom pothvatu, kapetan Tom postao je i najstarija osoba na naslovnici magazina GQ. Dospio je i na prvo mjesto glazbenih ljestvica snimivši s Michaelom Ballom himnu Liverpoolovih navijača „You'll Never Walk Alone”, a objavio je i autobiografiju "Tomorrow Will Be A Good Day".

U prosincu je s obitelji svoje kćeri Hannah putovao na Bahame nakon što im je British Airways ponudio besplatan let. To putovanje na Karibe, kazao je kapetan Tom, bilo je ispunjenje jedne od njegovih životnih želja.

Životna priča stogodišnjeg Toma Moorea uskoro će se pretočiti i na filmsko platno. Britanske tvrtke Fred Films i Powder Keg Pictures otkupile su prava na ekranizaciju njegova života.

Filmska priča o "nacionalnom blagu", kako nazivaju simpatičnog kapetana Toma, fokusirat će se na njegov odnos s mlađim članovima obitelji s kojima živi nakon što mu je preminula supruga Pamela, s kojom je bio u braku 40 godina, a dio će biti posvećen i njegovoj vojnoj karijeri.

Još nije poznato tko će biti u glavnoj ulozi, a kad su ga pitali tko bi ga mogao portretirati, kapetan Tom u šali je kazao: "Ne poznajem ni jednog stogodišnjega glumca." No, istaknuo je dvije glumačke legende, 87-godišnjeg Michaela Cainea i 82-godišnjeg Anthonyja Hopkinsa, kaže kako je siguran da bi oni obavili sjajan posao ako su spremni da ih se – postara.

Film bi se trebao početi snimati ove godine, svi se nadaju da će se kapetan Tom oporaviti i od koronavirusa i da će prošetati crvenim tepihom na premijeri.

Brojne slavne osobe, političari predvođeni britanskim premijerom Borisom Johnsonom, zdravstveni djelatnici i obični Britanci šalju poruke podrške i želje za što bržim ozdravljenjem stogodišnjem kapetanu Tomu Mooreu koji je u nedjelju primljen u bolnicu nakon što je nekoliko tjedana imao upalu pluća, a prošlog tjedna bio je pozitivan na koronavirus. Njegova obitelj objavila je da je imao teškoća s disanjem, ali nije u intenzivnoj skrbi. Kapetan Tom, veteran Drugog svjetskog rata kojega je kraljica Elizabetha II. za humanitarne zasluge lani proglasila vitezom i dodijelila mu počasni čin pukovnika, ponovno je postao nacionalni junak kad su prošlog proljeća njegove šetnje vlastitim dvorištem prikupile više od 32 milijuna funta za zdravstvene institucije.

Tijekom prvog britanskog „lockdowna” kapetan Tom je prošlog proljeća odlučio uz pomoć hodalice koju koristi nakon što je operirao kuk, napraviti sto krugova svojim dvorištem prije stotog rođendana 30. travnja kako bi prikupio tisuću funta za zdravstvene djelatnike na prvoj crti borbe protiv koronavirusa. Preko noći se njegov skromni plan pretvorio u nacionalni pokret s donacijama iz cijele Britanije i zemalja širom svijeta.

Zahvaljujući svom humanitarnom pothvatu, kapetan Tom postao je i najstarija osoba na naslovnici magazina GQ. Dospio je i na prvo mjesto glazbenih ljestvica snimivši s Michaelom Ballom himnu Liverpoolovih navijača „You'll Never Walk Alone”, a objavio je i autobiografiju "Tomorrow Will Be A Good Day".

U prosincu je s obitelji svoje kćeri Hannah putovao na Bahame nakon što im je British Airways ponudio besplatan let. To putovanje na Karibe, kazao je kapetan Tom, bilo je ispunjenje jedne od njegovih životnih želja.

Životna priča stogodišnjeg Toma Moorea uskoro će se pretočiti i na filmsko platno. Britanske tvrtke Fred Films i Powder Keg Pictures otkupile su prava na ekranizaciju njegova života.

Filmska priča o "nacionalnom blagu", kako nazivaju simpatičnog kapetana Toma, fokusirat će se na njegov odnos s mlađim članovima obitelji s kojima živi nakon što mu je preminula supruga Pamela, s kojom je bio u braku 40 godina, a dio će biti posvećen i njegovoj vojnoj karijeri.

Još nije poznato tko će biti u glavnoj ulozi, a kad su ga pitali tko bi ga mogao portretirati, kapetan Tom u šali je kazao: "Ne poznajem ni jednog stogodišnjega glumca." No, istaknuo je dvije glumačke legende, 87-godišnjeg Michaela Cainea i 82-godišnjeg Anthonyja Hopkinsa, kaže kako je siguran da bi oni obavili sjajan posao ako su spremni da ih se – postara.

Film bi se trebao početi snimati ove godine, svi se nadaju da će se kapetan Tom oporaviti i od koronavirusa i da će prošetati crvenim tepihom na premijeri.

Brojne slavne osobe, političari predvođeni britanskim premijerom Borisom Johnsonom, zdravstveni djelatnici i obični Britanci šalju poruke podrške i želje za što bržim ozdravljenjem stogodišnjem kapetanu Tomu Mooreu koji je u nedjelju primljen u bolnicu nakon što je nekoliko tjedana imao upalu pluća, a prošlog tjedna bio je pozitivan na koronavirus. Njegova obitelj objavila je da je imao teškoća s disanjem, ali nije u intenzivnoj skrbi. Kapetan Tom, veteran Drugog svjetskog rata kojega je kraljica Elizabetha II. za humanitarne zasluge lani proglasila vitezom i dodijelila mu počasni čin pukovnika, ponovno je postao nacionalni junak kad su prošlog proljeća njegove šetnje vlastitim dvorištem prikupile više od 32 milijuna funta za zdravstvene institucije.
