Indijski stomatolozi u srpnju su iz usne šupljine sedmogodišnjeg dječaka operativnim zahvatom izvadili 536 zuba, prenosi Business Insider.

P. Ravindranatha roditelji su 11. srpnja doveli na pregled na Stomatološki fakultet Saveetha zbog otekline i boli u predijelu desne donje čeljusti.

Rendgenski snimak i CT pretraga u dječakovim su ustima otkrili "tvorevinu sličnu vrećici" s više od 500 zuba, rekla je P. Senthilnathan, profesorica oralne i maksilofacijalne kirurgije Stomatološkog fakulteta i bolnice Saveetha u gradu Chennaiju.

"Nikada se dosad u praksi nismo susreli s ovakvim slučajem, mada je stanje opisano u medicinskoj literaturi", rekla je Pratibha Ramani, profesorica i voditeljica Odjela za oralnu i maksilofacijalnu patologiju.

Liječnice su pojasnile da je izraslina nalik tumoru spriječila rast trajnih molarnih zuba u dječakovoj usnoj šupljini. 
"Rendgenska snimka i CT pretraga pokazale su više rudimentarnih zuba u tkivu nalik vrećici", rekla je Senthilnathan za New India Express.

Ona i kolege su se složili da je potrebno što prije obaviti operativni zahvat. Roditelji su na to odmah pristali, no trebalo im je "nekoliko sati" da na operacijiu privole i dječačića.

Dr. Senthilnathan je kazala da je olakotna okolnost to što je rijetko stanje otkriveno u ranoj fazi. 

Tijekom petosatne operacije stomatolozi su iz usta sedmogodišnjaka izvadili točno 526 zuba, a snimke su pokazale da su oni različite veličine - od 0,1 do 15 milimetara.

"Izgledali su poput bisera izvađenih iz školjke. Čak je i najmanji zub imao krunu, korijen i caklinu", kazala je dr. Ramani.

Premda liječnici ne znaju što je točan uzrok ovakvome stanju, pretpostavljaju da bi jedan od razloga za razvoj 'viška zuba' mogla biti genetika. No misle da bi i okoliš mogao igrati značajnu ulogu.

Dr. Ramani kaže da je u suradnji s kolegama započela istraživanje kako bi ustanovili je li jedan od 'krivaca' za ovakvo stanje zračenje signalnih tornjeva za mobitele.

Pojasnila je da bi jedina dugoročna nuspojava za dječaka mogla biti ugradnja dentalnih implantata u molarnom području čeljusti kada napuni 16 godina.

Sličan slučaj zabilježen je 2014. godine kada su stomatolozi iz usne šupljine jednog sedamnaestogodišnjaka u Mumbaiju uklonili 232 zuba.

Indijski stomatolozi u srpnju su iz usne šupljine sedmogodišnjeg dječaka operativnim zahvatom izvadili 536 zuba, prenosi Business Insider.

P. Ravindranatha roditelji su 11. srpnja doveli na pregled na Stomatološki fakultet Saveetha zbog otekline i boli u predijelu desne donje čeljusti.

Rendgenski snimak i CT pretraga u dječakovim su ustima otkrili "tvorevinu sličnu vrećici" s više od 500 zuba, rekla je P. Senthilnathan, profesorica oralne i maksilofacijalne kirurgije Stomatološkog fakulteta i bolnice Saveetha u gradu Chennaiju.

"Nikada se dosad u praksi nismo susreli s ovakvim slučajem, mada je stanje opisano u medicinskoj literaturi", rekla je Pratibha Ramani, profesorica i voditeljica Odjela za oralnu i maksilofacijalnu patologiju.

Liječnice su pojasnile da je izraslina nalik tumoru spriječila rast trajnih molarnih zuba u dječakovoj usnoj šupljini. 
"Rendgenska snimka i CT pretraga pokazale su više rudimentarnih zuba u tkivu nalik vrećici", rekla je Senthilnathan za New India Express.

Ona i kolege su se složili da je potrebno što prije obaviti operativni zahvat. Roditelji su na to odmah pristali, no trebalo im je "nekoliko sati" da na operacijiu privole i dječačića.

Dr. Senthilnathan je kazala da je olakotna okolnost to što je rijetko stanje otkriveno u ranoj fazi. 

Tijekom petosatne operacije stomatolozi su iz usta sedmogodišnjaka izvadili točno 526 zuba, a snimke su pokazale da su oni različite veličine - od 0,1 do 15 milimetara.

"Izgledali su poput bisera izvađenih iz školjke. Čak je i najmanji zub imao krunu, korijen i caklinu", kazala je dr. Ramani.

Premda liječnici ne znaju što je točan uzrok ovakvome stanju, pretpostavljaju da bi jedan od razloga za razvoj 'viška zuba' mogla biti genetika. No misle da bi i okoliš mogao igrati značajnu ulogu.

Dr. Ramani kaže da je u suradnji s kolegama započela istraživanje kako bi ustanovili je li jedan od 'krivaca' za ovakvo stanje zračenje signalnih tornjeva za mobitele.

Pojasnila je da bi jedina dugoročna nuspojava za dječaka mogla biti ugradnja dentalnih implantata u molarnom području čeljusti kada napuni 16 godina.

Sličan slučaj zabilježen je 2014. godine kada su stomatolozi iz usne šupljine jednog sedamnaestogodišnjaka u Mumbaiju uklonili 232 zuba.
