Barack Obama otvorio se po pitanju svojih iskustava s rasizmom u djetinjstvu i mladosti. U drugoj epizodi podcasta 'Renegades: Born in the USA' s Bruceom Springsteenom, bivši je predsjednik ispričao kako se potukao s bivšim prijateljem koji ga je nazvao  uvredljivim rasnim nazivom - c**n, riječju koju je teško prevesti na hrvatski jezik.

- Slušajte, kad sam bio u školi, imao sam prijatelja. Igrali smo zajedno košarku i jednom smo se potukli, a on me nazvao uvredljivim nadimkom. Prvo, prije svega, nema nijedan c **n na Havajima, zar ne? To je jedna od onih stvari u kojima možda nije ni znao što to znači. Ono što je znao bilo je: ‘Mogu te povrijediti govoreći ovo', rekao je.

Bivši američki predsjednik nije olako shvatio incident i uslijedila je tučnjava.

- Sjećam se da sam ga udario u lice i slomio mu nos, u tom času bili smo u svlačionici. Objasnio sam mu - rekao sam, 'Nemoj me nikad tako zvati. Možda sam siromašan. ​​Možda sam neznalica. Možda sam zao. Možda sam ružan. Možda se ne volim. Možda sam nesretan, ali znaš što nisam? Nisam ti,' ispričao je Barack Springsteenu.

Obama se nije suzdržavao od komentiranja rasnih problema ni do sada, a u lipnju prošle godine napisao je zanimljiv esej o potrebnim promjenama usred prosvjeda Black Lives Matter nakon ubojstva Georgea Floyda.

- Jasno mi je da je proteklih nekoliko mjeseci bilo teško i uznemirujuće - da su se strah, tuga, neizvjesnost i teškoće uzrokovane pandemijom nadopunjavali tragičnim podsjetnicima da predrasude i nejednakost još uvijek oblikuju toliko velik dio američkog života. Ali promatrajući pojačani aktivizam mladih posljednjih tjedana daje mi nadu. Ako idući naprijed možemo pretvoriti svoj bijes u mirnu, održivu i učinkovitu akciju, tada ovaj trenutak može biti stvarna prekretnica na dugom putu naše države da živi prema svojim najvišim idealima, napisao je pozivajući na mirne prosvjede.

Otac dvije kćeri napomenuo je da će promjene morati raditi pripadnici nove generacije dodajući da povijest može pružiti "osnovne lekcije" koje su vrijedne pamćenja.

Barack Obama otvorio se po pitanju svojih iskustava s rasizmom u djetinjstvu i mladosti. U drugoj epizodi podcasta 'Renegades: Born in the USA' s Bruceom Springsteenom, bivši je predsjednik ispričao kako se potukao s bivšim prijateljem koji ga je nazvao  uvredljivim rasnim nazivom - c**n, riječju koju je teško prevesti na hrvatski jezik.

- Slušajte, kad sam bio u školi, imao sam prijatelja. Igrali smo zajedno košarku i jednom smo se potukli, a on me nazvao uvredljivim nadimkom. Prvo, prije svega, nema nijedan c **n na Havajima, zar ne? To je jedna od onih stvari u kojima možda nije ni znao što to znači. Ono što je znao bilo je: ‘Mogu te povrijediti govoreći ovo', rekao je.

Bivši američki predsjednik nije olako shvatio incident i uslijedila je tučnjava.

- Sjećam se da sam ga udario u lice i slomio mu nos, u tom času bili smo u svlačionici. Objasnio sam mu - rekao sam, 'Nemoj me nikad tako zvati. Možda sam siromašan. ​​Možda sam neznalica. Možda sam zao. Možda sam ružan. Možda se ne volim. Možda sam nesretan, ali znaš što nisam? Nisam ti,' ispričao je Barack Springsteenu.

Obama se nije suzdržavao od komentiranja rasnih problema ni do sada, a u lipnju prošle godine napisao je zanimljiv esej o potrebnim promjenama usred prosvjeda Black Lives Matter nakon ubojstva Georgea Floyda.

- Jasno mi je da je proteklih nekoliko mjeseci bilo teško i uznemirujuće - da su se strah, tuga, neizvjesnost i teškoće uzrokovane pandemijom nadopunjavali tragičnim podsjetnicima da predrasude i nejednakost još uvijek oblikuju toliko velik dio američkog života. Ali promatrajući pojačani aktivizam mladih posljednjih tjedana daje mi nadu. Ako idući naprijed možemo pretvoriti svoj bijes u mirnu, održivu i učinkovitu akciju, tada ovaj trenutak može biti stvarna prekretnica na dugom putu naše države da živi prema svojim najvišim idealima, napisao je pozivajući na mirne prosvjede.

Otac dvije kćeri napomenuo je da će promjene morati raditi pripadnici nove generacije dodajući da povijest može pružiti "osnovne lekcije" koje su vrijedne pamćenja.

Barack Obama ispričao Bruce Springsteenu da je u mladosti slomio nos ‘prijatelju‘ jer ga je vrijeđao na rasnoj osnovi

Barack Obama otvorio se po pitanju svojih iskustava s rasizmom u djetinjstvu i mladosti. U drugoj epizodi podcasta 'Renegades: Born in the USA' s Bruceom Springsteenom, bivši je predsjednik ispričao kako se potukao s bivšim prijateljem koji ga je nazvao  uvredljivim rasnim nazivom - c**n, riječju koju je teško prevesti na hrvatski jezik.

- Slušajte, kad sam bio u školi, imao sam prijatelja. Igrali smo zajedno košarku i jednom smo se potukli, a on me nazvao uvredljivim nadimkom. Prvo, prije svega, nema nijedan c **n na Havajima, zar ne? To je jedna od onih stvari u kojima možda nije ni znao što to znači. Ono što je znao bilo je: ‘Mogu te povrijediti govoreći ovo', rekao je.

Bivši američki predsjednik nije olako shvatio incident i uslijedila je tučnjava.
