Amy Durant iz Surreyja prošle godine u ožujku oboljela je od Covida-19, a posljedice osjeća još i danas. Istraživanja objavljena ovog tjedna pokazala su da minimalno 10 posto ljudi koji se zaraze koronavirusom mjesecima nastavljaju imati posljedice što je još češće kod žena i djece. Što to zapravo znači, za Independent je ispričala 31-godišnja Durant.
- Zarazila sam se 14. ožujka prošle godine, najvjerojatnije u supermarketu, jer nigdje drugdje nisam ni išla. Međutim, s obzirom na to da sam bila potpuno zdrava, mislila sam da će sve proći brzo i lako. To se ipak nije dogodilo, započela je Amy.
U trenutku kad se počela osjećati loše, još uvijek se nije bilo moguće testirati. Sa sigurnošću je saznala da je imala Covid tek u srpnju zahvaljujući antitijelima. Njeni simptomi su bili nalik onima koje su opisivali drugi zaraženi pa je prvo pomislila da treba udaljiti baku s kojom je živjela. Za sebe kaže da ima dobar imunitet i da u svom odraslom životu nije imala nijednu bolest zbog koje je imala visoku temperaturu i zato nije očekivala veće komplikacije.
- Prvih nekoliko dana nisam mogla ustati iz kreveta. Nisam imala ni apetit, ali sve sam to i očekivala. Međutim, otprilike osmog dana počela sam sve teže disati i osjećala sam pritisak u grudima. Tada sam se konzultirala s doktorom. Pozvala sam ga, a on me je pitao mogu li se koncentrirati i gledati televiziju. To mi je bilo čudno, ali kada sam mu potvrdila da mogu, rekao je da je u redu, priča Amy.
Ipak, njeni simptomi nisu prolazili, upravo suprotno, početkom travnja stanje joj se dodatno pogoršalo. Kako je sve teže disala pozvala je opet liječnika, a čim je čuo kako govori poslao je po nju hitnu pomoć.
- Stavili su mi masku s kisikom i rekli da ostanem kod kuće jer u bolnicama nije bilo mjesta. Kisik mi je pomogao, ali nekako sam umislila da se moram što prije oporaviti, pa sam počela raditi. Međutim, tijelo mi je bilo toliko iscrpljeno da nisam mogla ni normalno sjediti na stolici.

- Kad je došao lipanj, umor i smetenost potpuno su me obuzeli i posao je postalo nemoguće obavljati. Probudila bih se i osjećala jednako umorno kao kad sam lijegala u krevet. Stvari koje obično obavljam s lakoćom sad su me umarale, čak je i održavanje razgovora postalo iscrpljujuće. Osjećala sam snažni pritisak u glavi: nisam mogao čitati, nisam mogao kuhati, nisam mogla učiniti ništa što je zahtijevalo koncentraciju. U stvarno lošim danima nisam mogao ni ustati pod tušem ni hodati gore-dolje stepenicama, ispričala je.
Do kraja ljeta više nije mogla raditi apslutno ništa, počela ju je hvatati panika kad je shvatila da se u razgovoru ne može sjetiti ispravnih riječi i znala bi buncati, ali onda joj se u rujnu stanje poboljšalo, sve do prosinca 2020. otkako se počela osjećati jednako loše.
- Toliko mi se vrtjelo u glavi i toliko sam teško disala da se nisam mogla ni obuči sama. Osjetila sam neopisiv očaj. Pomislila sam ima li kraja svemu ovome. Ja sam u katastrofalnom psihičkom stanju. Hoće li se ova agonija ikada završiti i hoću li više ikada moći živjeti normalno? pita se Amy.

Amy Durant iz Surreyja prošle godine u ožujku oboljela je od Covida-19, a posljedice osjeća još i danas. Istraživanja objavljena ovog tjedna pokazala su da minimalno 10 posto ljudi koji se zaraze koronavirusom mjesecima nastavljaju imati posljedice što je još češće kod žena i djece. Što to zapravo znači, za Independent je ispričala 31-godišnja Durant.
- Zarazila sam se 14. ožujka prošle godine, najvjerojatnije u supermarketu, jer nigdje drugdje nisam ni išla. Međutim, s obzirom na to da sam bila potpuno zdrava, mislila sam da će sve proći brzo i lako. To se ipak nije dogodilo, započela je Amy.
U trenutku kad se počela osjećati loše, još uvijek se nije bilo moguće testirati. Sa sigurnošću je saznala da je imala Covid tek u srpnju zahvaljujući antitijelima. Njeni simptomi su bili nalik onima koje su opisivali drugi zaraženi pa je prvo pomislila da treba udaljiti baku s kojom je živjela. Za sebe kaže da ima dobar imunitet i da u svom odraslom životu nije imala nijednu bolest zbog koje je imala visoku temperaturu i zato nije očekivala veće komplikacije.
- Prvih nekoliko dana nisam mogla ustati iz kreveta. Nisam imala ni apetit, ali sve sam to i očekivala. Međutim, otprilike osmog dana počela sam sve teže disati i osjećala sam pritisak u grudima. Tada sam se konzultirala s doktorom. Pozvala sam ga, a on me je pitao mogu li se koncentrirati i gledati televiziju. To mi je bilo čudno, ali kada sam mu potvrdila da mogu, rekao je da je u redu, priča Amy.
Ipak, njeni simptomi nisu prolazili, upravo suprotno, početkom travnja stanje joj se dodatno pogoršalo. Kako je sve teže disala pozvala je opet liječnika, a čim je čuo kako govori poslao je po nju hitnu pomoć.
- Stavili su mi masku s kisikom i rekli da ostanem kod kuće jer u bolnicama nije bilo mjesta. Kisik mi je pomogao, ali nekako sam umislila da se moram što prije oporaviti, pa sam počela raditi. Međutim, tijelo mi je bilo toliko iscrpljeno da nisam mogla ni normalno sjediti na stolici.

- Kad je došao lipanj, umor i smetenost potpuno su me obuzeli i posao je postalo nemoguće obavljati. Probudila bih se i osjećala jednako umorno kao kad sam lijegala u krevet. Stvari koje obično obavljam s lakoćom sad su me umarale, čak je i održavanje razgovora postalo iscrpljujuće. Osjećala sam snažni pritisak u glavi: nisam mogao čitati, nisam mogao kuhati, nisam mogla učiniti ništa što je zahtijevalo koncentraciju. U stvarno lošim danima nisam mogao ni ustati pod tušem ni hodati gore-dolje stepenicama, ispričala je.
Do kraja ljeta više nije mogla raditi apslutno ništa, počela ju je hvatati panika kad je shvatila da se u razgovoru ne može sjetiti ispravnih riječi i znala bi buncati, ali onda joj se u rujnu stanje poboljšalo, sve do prosinca 2020. otkako se počela osjećati jednako loše.
- Toliko mi se vrtjelo u glavi i toliko sam teško disala da se nisam mogla ni obuči sama. Osjetila sam neopisiv očaj. Pomislila sam ima li kraja svemu ovome. Ja sam u katastrofalnom psihičkom stanju. Hoće li se ova agonija ikada završiti i hoću li više ikada moći živjeti normalno? pita se Amy.
